nearly all of these AWD comparison videos are rigged in favor of the brand they are trying to promote. sadly i would say just from personal experience 99% of people think they know how AWD works, but really don't fully understand it. then you get brand wars started and spread ignorance as a result. so this is how it works. there are mechanical viscous coupling units, mechanical torsen differentials and electronic coupling units. electronic units require sensor input before it reacts. viscous coupling units use gear oil in a clutch pack differential much like a clutch pack limited slip differential, just no ring and pinion gears. so when the wheels up front slip, they lock the driveshaft to the transmission and rotate all the wheels at the same speed. electronic units are FWD until locked together by a solenoid in the transmission but still allows for slip with clutch packs. torsen differentials use gears rotating in opposite directions to lock the output shaft to the driveshaft. every video compares vehicles with the same or similar AWD systems. the only difference is they turn off traction control in the vehicle they are trying to promote and leave it on in the others that are competition. traction control cuts fuel to the engine obviously resulting in a power loss and less rotation at the wheels. if the front wheels slip and can't rotate fast enough, the coupling unit can never lock. notice in every video demonstrating this they start to move forward on the rollers and then traction control kicks and they start rocking back and forth. even though each vehicle would climb the ramp and rollers if traction control was off, these videos use these tricks to sway your opinion in favor of the brand they are promoting. the Audi Quattro system is the best AWD system you can buy for the money, and it would still fail to climb the ramp if the traction control is on. don't believe everything you see on the internet.

Interessant ist doch, dass die Räder des BMWs überhaupt keinen Schlupf an den Rollen haben, sieht fast so aus als wurden die Rollen der Rampe gesperrt für den BMW. Es gibt ja mittlerweile genügend Videos die zeigen dass Audis Quattro da hochkommt, und das auch ohne dem Fixieren der Rollen, sprich die Räder gehen kurz durch. (BMWs Xdrive schafft das natürlich auch, aber nicht so souverän, sprich mit durchdrehenden Rädern, wie in diesem Video suggeriert wird!) Nichtsdestotrotz sind es zwei verschieden arbeitende Systeme, die beide Vor- und Nachteile haben, und je nach Situation als gleichwertig zu betrachten sind!
Das die räder nicht durchdrehen liegt daran, dass der allrad erkennt, dass er an einer achse keinen grip bekommt und somit 100% der kraft an die andere achse schickt.
@@dennisli1046 und das erkennt der allrad schon, wenn die räder auf der rolle nur stehen? die räder auf den rollen müssten sich doch wenigstens ein kleines stück drehen, damit der drehzahlunterschied ermittelt werden kann bzw. das fahrzeug überhaupt erstmal merkt, dass unterschiedliche reibwerte an den achsen vorliegen. dass das drehmoment dann an die räder geleitet wird, die keinen schlupf haben, ist ja richtig, aber erstmal braucht er den schlupf, damit er es merkt. ich vermute, dass der "test" entweder manipuliert ist, oder die eule gibt sich beim audi extra keine mühe...
Das torsen c beim Audi muss mit mehr drehzahl angefahren werden, da echter allrad und permanent / es gibt keine starre verbindung zw VA/HA - denke auch dass EDS und ESP deaktiviert sind, sonst würden nicht alle Räder leer durchdrehen. bei den anfahrhilfen wie z.B. xdrive oder haldex wird elektronisch sofort auf die andere achse geleitet, daher mögen diese fans auch den rollenvergleich. Dieser ist aber nicht praxistauglich, da zählt nach wie vor zentral diff und sperren, alles andere ist eher für die Stadt um aus dem Schneehügel auszuparken.
Bei dem Audi reagieren alle Räder sofort, da der Allrad ja permanent ist. Und natürlich hat der Q5 eine starre Verbindung zw. VA udn HA. Das ESP wird bei dem Q5 in zwei Stufen abgeschaltet. Kurzes drücken der Taste versetzt den Wagen in den Offroadmodus und langes drücken schaltet ESP komplett ab. Xdrive ist übrigens auch ein permanenter Allrad und Haldex leitet die Kraft erst dann an die Hinterachse, wenn sie benötigt wird. Beim permanenten Allrad liegt permanent an.
Ach auf der Plane steht auch zufällig BMW xDrive...Ich fahre kein Audi, aber eine Frage: Warum habt ihr im Audi die ASR aus und die Differentialsperre nicht eingeschaltet ??

Of course the Audi is going to look bad, go to 0:36 to see where it starts. As soon as she has her rear wheels near the roller, she plants it and creates a spin. She does this quite a few times. Then for the BMW at 2:09 she seats the rear wheels firmly on the rollers. No attempts to create a spin at all. Clearly not a true test and only designed as a stunt to impress the BMW executives.
@HeavyweightThinker I personally went to a demonstration like this, and after noticing the Q5's ESP was de activated asked the demonstrator from BMW to re-ativate it and, much to his embarassment, the q5 cruised over those rollers like they weren't there. needless to say not many people ordered a x3 that day. who would buy a car from a manufacturer who's deliberately decieving you?
My Mitsubishi will make it with ESP "off" (or "on" if you want). Let me drive my car over that ramp the way the BMW marketing people have set it up (the ramp, not the car) and it will be a piece of cake.
I do, ESP brakes the wheels that are spinning too quickly to stabilize the car and this also transfers torque to the wheels with more traction. It is beyond me why ESP has any effect on the Torsen center differential that distributes torque between the front and rear axle.
+SwissTec Can you explain why the Torsen center diff does not engage the axle with traction? Even with ESP off this should be no issue. On my car I can lock the center diff for classic 4WD mode with 50:50 torque distribution between both axles. Electronic Limited Slip Differentials and ASC (Mitsubishi's name for ESP) take care of the rest. But even with ASC off this test would be a no-brainer.

Likewise, an A3/TT or R8 with Haldex- and Visco awd wouldn´t need ESP either. However, the Torsen does work like shown wether or not ESP is activated. They even showed it at the Q7 presentation here in Germany. You can also read it from internet available internal audi documents that the EDS only works above 6km/h because the have to be drivable in the workshop

xdrive is the superior system. Quattro is not as refined. If your referring to classic awd feel ie. subaru, jeep, etc, yes the quattro resembles that more. In terms of adapting and correcting live time, xdrive is siginificantly superior lol... go drive one before you talk..
Andrew Yts I did drive one, more than one... I've driven an X3, Q5, GLK, all of those are a bit crap. However, I've also driven an A6 Quattro, a 5-series X-drive and an E-class 4-matic. Tested in snow, on wet roads and on dry pavement. At my work, we have lots of company cars. I've driven most of them and compared them on the same stretch of roads, roughly the same conditions and the same driving style. The best is Quattro, followed by 4-matic, followed by X-drive.

Here's my experience (OWNING), ML350 (still remember 15 years ago getting that Pos stuck in some light snow), e53 shortly after (awd) then another e53 facelift (this time with xdrive), then is250 awd when it just came out, then c300 4matic (unrealiable trash, i.e: I remember my girlfriend coming back to me once with a grinding noise, turns out cd cases in the glove box where touching the fucking vent fans) , e90 335i sedan xdrive (ugly car from the front but what a sleeper, n54), then m235i xdrive. As for Audi I've had the privilege of driving my girlfriends parents a4 Quattro, and I've driven my buddies s4 b6 (stock). Synopsis: 4matic is shit, Quattro is great but the back likes to step out when the corner gets too exciting. Xdrive is incredible you can try and force the car to oversteer and the front will just grip so hard. Under steer is virtually non existent in the smaller cars although on the X5 if you turned in quickly the car would under steer a tad before violently shuffling the bias depending on the amount of rubber your running. Mostly ran into this running 285, with 305 in the front on the e53 the understeer was remedied. That's MY OWN experience..
Actually this situation is very realistic: I encounter it at my parents house every time it snows. They have a steeply inclined driveway, and after they plow it, there's a tendency for melted snow to run down and pool at the bottom, and then refreeze overnight as it gets cold, resulting in an ice patch at the bottom of the driveway. So as soon as the front wheels begin to climb the hill and the back wheels hit the ice patch, that's exactly this scenario here.
Der Audi hat ein Torson Differential. Dieses Diff. benötigt relativ hohe Drehzahlunterschiede zwischen den Achsen bis genügend Sperrwirkung vorhanden ist. Der Audi sieht hier natürlich alt aus, wenn man nicht genügend "Gas" gibt, um diesen Drehzahl unterschied zu erzeugen. Aber es zeigt auch sehr gut wie schnell das Xdrive funktioniert. Aber für die Leute die sich hier aufregen: Ein LADA NIVA würde hier ohne elektrische Hilfen mit seiner mechanischen 100% Sperre ohne zu zucken hochfahren :)
Christopher Chapman Ne, achte mal drauf, wie der BMW in die Rollen fällt. Die Räder drehen weiter und blockieren nicht, während er in die Mulde rutscht. Wären die Rollen lose, würden die Räder stillstehen und er würde mit blockierenden Rädern in die Mulde rutschen.
Christopher Chapman Quattro lässt sich nicht manipulieren. Das Diff ist ein Torsendifferenzial. Da muss man Gas geben, damit es greift, weil es mechanisch ist und nicht so ein Scheiss wie bei BMW, das nur die Bremsen benutzt. Ist klar, dass der Audi schlecht dasteht. Das ESP muss ausgeschalten werden und dann Vollgas. Dann geht's immer und überall Vorwärts.
@HeavyweightThinker It does have TC, and the problem is they create an unrealistic situation by adding a surface that has 0,0 traction (less than ice) to render the torsen differential useless. The TC would solve that issue but not when you turn it off obviously. They create the false impression that the Audi would get stuck on any slippery surface where Xdrive would keep going. Its a shame because Xdrive has come a long way and you'd think they can show its merits without this kind of thing.

PreTV richtig. Man sieht es ganz deutlich. Wären die Rollen beim BMW nicht fixiert gewesen, hätten die Räder auch durchgedreht, weil kein Grip da ist. Hier war aber Grip da und so musste der Antrieb die Kraftverteilung auch nicht ändern.
Immer wieder das gleiche, wenn Quattro versagt, wittert man gleich Betrug. Wenn aber ein BMW mit xDrive in 120 cm tiefem Schnee mit Sommerreifen stecken bleibt und der Audi auf 5 cm Schnee mit Quattro und Winterreifen fahren kann, ist alles gerecht und Quattro das einzig wahre System.

Der Audi hat wie alle Längsmotor VAG Autos keine Kupplung sondern ein Differnetial welches durch innere Reibung den Drehzahlausgleich verschlechtert. Ein Differential lässt alle möglichen Drehzahldiffernzen zwischen zwei Achsen zu. Das kann eine Kupplung auch mit dem Unterschied dass bei extremen Gripunterschieden das Differentialprinzip versagt. Genau das siehst du hier im Video beim Q5.
Stimmt so nicht. Hier sieht man ein manipuliertes Video. Ja, der Q5 hat ein selbstsperrenden Mittendiffernetial. Aber hier wurde am Allradantrieb des Audi rumgepfuscht, was man daran sieht, daß die Räder vorne komplett am durchdrehen waren, während die Hinterräder sich gar nicht bewegt haben. Was für einen permanenten Allrad absolut untypisch ist, zumal die Hinterachse von vornherein schon 20% mehr Kraft hat. Verteilung 40% Vorderachse und 60% Hinterachse. Normalerweise hätte die Hinterachse den Wagen mühelos da rausfahren müssen.
Da stimmt was nicht beim Audi. Der Wagen hat permanenten Allrad mit einer 40:60 Verteilung. Und trotzdem wird die Hinterachse am Anfang gar nicht genutzt. Hier wird absichtlich der Audi schlecht gemacht.
Stutzig macht mich, dass der X3 überhaupt her keinen Schlupf auf der Rolle hat. Wurden die Rollen festgeschraubt? Abgesehen davon taugen beide Systeme nicht sehr viel. Bei einem vollwertigen Allradaystem müssen in der Mitte und hinten eine Sperrvorrichtung eingebaut sein. Ist das gegeben, kommen auch beide problemlos hoch.
Hat es BMW wirklich so nötig? Quattro auf einer eigenen Veranstaltung schlecht machen damit der eigene Antrieb besser dasteht ist echt peinlich. Ein grund für mich kein Auto aus München zu kaufen, was schade ist, denn langsam sehen die BMW wieder richtig gut aus.
Das würde auch erklären wieso der BMW ohne probleme hochkommt, trotzdem bleibt es unfair. Der Audi Q5 wird zwar über beide Achsen angetrieben, aber er hat eine Kraftverteilung von 40:60, also hat er hinten ein bisschen mehr drauf. Aber die haben schon etwas mehr oder weniger gemeinsam. auch wenn der bMw gewonnen hat könnt ihr doch einfach froh sein das ihr Audi fährt, immerhin hat Audi ein wunderschönes design im gegensatz zu Bmw. I've also heard such rumors about the french cars, but most people I know driving older peugeot or citroen are happy with them. Cheap to buy and maintain, average on gas, pretty good on diesel. Your audi must be going thru gas like crazy :D ...many more accident-free kilomerets to you. Take care man
The only explanation I can see is that the rollers in the ramp are locked on the X3-run or this X3 is manipulated. Only a car with a locked centre-diff would make that run(with rollers unlocked) without any wheel spinning and a standard X3 does not have that kind of centre-diff.
If you look they do roll, but a tiny amount. As soon as the system detects a loss of grip (which is instantly) it diverts the power 100% to the wheels with the grip, you can have 100 front 0 rear power, and the same the other way around.
Adam James Kehoe Yes they spinn with a very tiny amount but I have a hard time beleiving that the system can respond that quickly, If it does I surrender and are impressed of BMW's system in that way. In Audi's defence, the torsen-diff needs some resistance on the axle with less grip to be able to transmit more tourqe to the axel with better grip and rollers are giving none, that doesn't really reflect a real track-obstacle.
I think the reason is because the Haldex system require much more spinning to get the liquid boiled in order to expand and start converting torque to the opposite axle. Not just because of side to side converting. The BMW uses open diff as well. The BMW with electronic hydraulic multi-plate clutch can convert torque from front to back way better.
+hossguitar My parents have a car with haldex too. I never have any problems with traction in the snow (maybe partly because the car has studded tires), my concern is just that the system is too front wheel biased and boring
um the audi is quattro meaning if a wheel loses traction in the rear, the traction goes to the front.. i don't see the front tires trying to move.. something is turned off or broken.

My Audi feels much better on the snow and gives the driver much more confidence in inclement weather. **(my audi is also slammed)** where as the BMW is not, so even more the reason for my car to handle worse, but it does not!!
Такая ситуация с audi или любой другой машиной с постоянным полным приводом может быть только в том случае если не работает или отключена EDS. А так как она составляет единое целое фактически с ABS и ESP то закрадывается очень смутное сомнение по поводу того что тут нахитрили баварцы при испытании.
Кстати пересмотрел видео ещё раз что она специально держала очень мало газ при подъёме, меньше секунды. EDS срабатывает плавно ему нужно время для того чтобы во-первых понять что колесо пробуксовывает 1 либо 2 либо 3и она она плавно передаёт крутящий момент на остальные колёса для того чтобы не было рывка, проскальзывания, эта система предназначена для грязи да в принципе если ты поднимаешься в гору и одно колесо либо два у тебя шлифует то она постепенно отключает точнее постепенно блокирует их, передавая плавно крутящий момент на другие колёса, а это видео очень хитро сделано. Восхлавляя возможности x-drive который позволяет мгновенно передавать крутящий момент из одной оси на другую. Но как это сказывается в реальных условиях эксплуатации на грязи на гололёде и надо ли это в реальных условиях эксплуатации это большой вопрос.

How do you suppose the test is fixed? I "was" about to buy the 2013 Q5 because I believed that Quattro is the superior all-wheel drive system. I never considered the BMW xDrive all-wheel drive system at all. I need to investigate further before spending any money on a new CUV.
It's not really a fair test because they don't show you the interior of the car, like the dashboard with the speedometer when they're doing the test. They pretty much disabled the ESP on the Audi to show that the BMW is better.

Interessant ist doch, dass die Räder des BMWs überhaupt keinen Schlupf an den Rollen haben, sieht fast so aus als wurden die Rollen der Rampe gesperrt für den BMW.
Es gibt ja mittlerweile genügend Videos die zeigen dass Audis Quattro da hochkommt, und das auch ohne dem Fixieren der Rollen, sprich die Räder gehen kurz durch. (BMWs Xdrive schafft das natürlich auch, aber nicht so souverän, sprich mit durchdrehenden Rädern, wie in diesem Video suggeriert wird!)
Nichtsdestotrotz sind es zwei verschieden arbeitende Systeme, die beide Vor- und Nachteile haben, und je nach Situation als gleichwertig zu betrachten sind!
Das die räder nicht durchdrehen liegt daran, dass der allrad erkennt, dass er an einer achse keinen grip bekommt und somit 100% der kraft an die andere achse schickt.
@@dennisli1046 und das erkennt der allrad schon, wenn die räder auf der rolle nur stehen? die räder auf den rollen müssten sich doch wenigstens ein kleines stück drehen, damit der drehzahlunterschied ermittelt werden kann bzw. das fahrzeug überhaupt erstmal merkt, dass unterschiedliche reibwerte an den achsen vorliegen. dass das drehmoment dann an die räder geleitet wird, die keinen schlupf haben, ist ja richtig, aber erstmal braucht er den schlupf, damit er es merkt. ich vermute, dass der "test" entweder manipuliert ist, oder die eule gibt sich beim audi extra keine mühe...
Wenn du genau schaust, dann sieht man, dass die Räder vll. 1cm drehen, oder täuscht es mich?

Das torsen c beim Audi muss mit mehr drehzahl angefahren werden, da echter allrad und permanent / es gibt keine starre verbindung zw VA/HA - denke auch dass EDS und ESP deaktiviert sind, sonst würden nicht alle Räder leer durchdrehen. bei den anfahrhilfen wie z.B. xdrive oder haldex wird elektronisch sofort auf die andere achse geleitet, daher mögen diese fans auch den rollenvergleich. Dieser ist aber nicht praxistauglich, da zählt nach wie vor zentral diff und sperren, alles andere ist eher für die Stadt um aus dem Schneehügel auszuparken.
Bei dem Audi reagieren alle Räder sofort, da der Allrad ja permanent ist. Und natürlich hat der Q5 eine starre Verbindung zw. VA udn HA. Das ESP wird bei dem Q5 in zwei Stufen abgeschaltet. Kurzes drücken der Taste versetzt den Wagen in den Offroadmodus und langes drücken schaltet ESP komplett ab.
Xdrive ist übrigens auch ein permanenter Allrad und Haldex leitet die Kraft erst dann an die Hinterachse, wenn sie benötigt wird. Beim permanenten Allrad liegt permanent an.
Ach auf der Plane steht auch zufällig BMW xDrive...Ich fahre kein Audi, aber eine Frage: Warum habt ihr im Audi die ASR aus und die Differentialsperre nicht eingeschaltet ??

Well, this test perfectly represents the philosophy of Audi and bmw about 4x4. Audi introduced Quattro 30 years ago to give the best performance on any road condition, while bmw introduced xdrive to get through a ramp with still rollers LOL
Of course the Audi is going to look bad, go to 0:36 to see where it starts. As soon as she has her rear wheels near the roller, she plants it and creates a spin. She does this quite a few times. Then for the BMW at 2:09 she seats the rear wheels firmly on the rollers. No attempts to create a spin at all. Clearly not a true test and only designed as a stunt to impress the BMW executives.

@HeavyweightThinker I personally went to a demonstration like this, and after noticing the Q5's ESP was de activated asked the demonstrator from BMW to re-ativate it and, much to his embarassment, the q5 cruised over those rollers like they weren't there. needless to say not many people ordered a x3 that day. who would buy a car from a manufacturer who's deliberately decieving you?

My Mitsubishi will make it with ESP "off" (or "on" if you want). Let me drive my car over that ramp the way the BMW marketing people have set it up (the ramp, not the car) and it will be a piece of cake.

I do, ESP brakes the wheels that are spinning too quickly to stabilize the car and this also transfers torque to the wheels with more traction. It is beyond me why ESP has any effect on the Torsen center differential that distributes torque between the front and rear axle.
+SwissTec Can you explain why the Torsen center diff does not engage the axle with traction? Even with ESP off this should be no issue. On my car I can lock the center diff for classic 4WD mode with 50:50 torque distribution between both axles. Electronic Limited Slip Differentials and ASC (Mitsubishi's name for ESP) take care of the rest. But even with ASC off this test would be a no-brainer.
I doubt it if your transmission is CVT. Seen how bad AWD is with CVT, no low gear.
Next time try with Quattro Torsen system and not with Haldex system. Unfair test ;)

The X3 doesn´t need a traction control since it has a clutch based awd. Likewise, an A3/TT or R8 with Haldex- and Visco awd wouldn´t need ESP either.
However, the Torsen does work like shown wether or not ESP is activated. They even showed it at the Q7 presentation here in Germany. You can also read it from internet available internal audi documents that the EDS only works above 6km/h because the have to be drivable in the workshop

xdrive is the superior system. Quattro is not as refined. If your referring to classic awd feel ie. subaru, jeep, etc, yes the quattro resembles that more. In terms of adapting and correcting live time, xdrive is siginificantly superior lol... go drive one before you talk..

I did drive one, more than one... I've driven an X3, Q5, GLK, all of those are a bit crap. However, I've also driven an A6 Quattro, a 5-series X-drive and an E-class 4-matic.
Tested in snow, on wet roads and on dry pavement. At my work, we have lots of company cars. I've driven most of them and compared them on the same stretch of roads, roughly the same conditions and the same driving style.
The best is Quattro, followed by 4-matic, followed by X-drive.

Here's my experience (OWNING), ML350 (still remember 15 years ago getting that Pos stuck in some light snow), e53 shortly after (awd) then another e53 facelift (this time with xdrive), then is250 awd when it just came out, then c300 4matic (unrealiable trash, i.e: I remember my girlfriend coming back to me once with a grinding noise, turns out cd cases in the glove box where touching the fucking vent fans) , e90 335i sedan xdrive (ugly car from the front but what a sleeper, n54), then m235i xdrive. As for Audi I've had the privilege of driving my girlfriends parents a4 Quattro, and I've driven my buddies s4 b6 (stock). Synopsis: 4matic is shit, Quattro is great but the back likes to step out when the corner gets too exciting. Xdrive is incredible you can try and force the car to oversteer and the front will just grip so hard. Under steer is virtually non existent in the smaller cars although on the X5 if you turned in quickly the car would under steer a tad before violently shuffling the bias depending on the amount of rubber your running. Mostly ran into this running 285, with 305 in the front on the e53 the understeer was remedied. That's MY OWN experience..

Actually this situation is very realistic: I encounter it at my parents house every time it snows. They have a steeply inclined driveway, and after they plow it, there's a tendency for melted snow to run down and pool at the bottom, and then refreeze overnight as it gets cold, resulting in an ice patch at the bottom of the driveway. So as soon as the front wheels begin to climb the hill and the back wheels hit the ice patch, that's exactly this scenario here.

Der Audi hat ein Torson Differential. Dieses Diff. benötigt relativ hohe Drehzahlunterschiede zwischen den Achsen bis genügend Sperrwirkung vorhanden ist. Der Audi sieht hier natürlich alt aus, wenn man nicht genügend "Gas" gibt, um diesen Drehzahl unterschied zu erzeugen.
Aber es zeigt auch sehr gut wie schnell das Xdrive funktioniert.
Aber für die Leute die sich hier aufregen: Ein LADA NIVA würde hier ohne elektrische Hilfen mit seiner mechanischen 100% Sperre ohne zu zucken hochfahren :)

Ne, achte mal drauf, wie der BMW in die Rollen fällt. Die Räder drehen weiter und blockieren nicht, während er in die Mulde rutscht. Wären die Rollen lose, würden die Räder stillstehen und er würde mit blockierenden Rädern in die Mulde rutschen.

Quattro lässt sich nicht manipulieren.
Das Diff ist ein Torsendifferenzial. Da muss man Gas geben, damit es greift, weil es mechanisch ist und nicht so ein Scheiss wie bei BMW, das nur die Bremsen benutzt.
Ist klar, dass der Audi schlecht dasteht. Das ESP muss ausgeschalten werden und dann Vollgas. Dann geht's immer und überall Vorwärts.

@HeavyweightThinker It does have TC, and the problem is they create an unrealistic situation by adding a surface that has 0,0 traction (less than ice) to render the torsen differential useless. The TC would solve that issue but not when you turn it off obviously. They create the false impression that the Audi would get stuck on any slippery surface where Xdrive would keep going. Its a shame because Xdrive has come a long way and you'd think they can show its merits without this kind of thing.

PreTV richtig. Man sieht es ganz deutlich. Wären die Rollen beim BMW nicht fixiert gewesen, hätten die Räder auch durchgedreht, weil kein Grip da ist. Hier war aber Grip da und so musste der Antrieb die Kraftverteilung auch nicht ändern.

Der Audi hat wie alle Längsmotor VAG Autos keine Kupplung sondern ein Differnetial welches durch innere Reibung den Drehzahlausgleich verschlechtert. Ein Differential lässt alle möglichen Drehzahldiffernzen zwischen zwei Achsen zu. Das kann eine Kupplung auch mit dem Unterschied dass bei extremen Gripunterschieden das Differentialprinzip versagt. Genau das siehst du hier im Video beim Q5.
Stimmt so nicht. Hier sieht man ein manipuliertes Video. Ja, der Q5 hat ein selbstsperrenden Mittendiffernetial. Aber hier wurde am Allradantrieb des Audi rumgepfuscht, was man daran sieht, daß die Räder vorne komplett am durchdrehen waren, während die Hinterräder sich gar nicht bewegt haben. Was für einen permanenten Allrad absolut untypisch ist, zumal die Hinterachse von vornherein schon 20% mehr Kraft hat. Verteilung 40% Vorderachse und 60% Hinterachse. Normalerweise hätte die Hinterachse den Wagen mühelos da rausfahren müssen.

Stutzig macht mich, dass der X3 überhaupt her keinen Schlupf auf der Rolle hat. Wurden die Rollen festgeschraubt?
Abgesehen davon taugen beide Systeme nicht sehr viel. Bei einem vollwertigen Allradaystem müssen in der Mitte und hinten eine Sperrvorrichtung eingebaut sein. Ist das gegeben, kommen auch beide problemlos hoch.

Hat es BMW wirklich so nötig? Quattro auf einer eigenen Veranstaltung schlecht machen damit der eigene Antrieb besser dasteht ist echt peinlich. Ein grund für mich kein Auto aus München zu kaufen, was schade ist, denn langsam sehen die BMW wieder richtig gut aus.

CrazyMyBe that's not a new problem, and its untrue that they are using china. China has been replicating there cars and selling them under a Chinese brand. When bmw tried to sue them Chinese government said I see no resemblance in the vehicles. Since that time they have been limiting what goes into china and what comes out.

@MrLowAltitude Modern cars have been perfected up to a point where the differences are so minor, they are insignificant, especially for the gasoline cars. So, you are right, I agree.
I've also heard such rumors about the french cars, but most people I know driving older peugeot or citroen are happy with them. Cheap to buy and maintain, average on gas, pretty good on diesel.

The only explanation I can see is that the rollers in the ramp are locked on the X3-run or this X3 is manipulated. Only a car with a locked centre-diff would make that run(with rollers unlocked) without any wheel spinning and a standard X3 does not have that kind of centre-diff.
If you look they do roll, but a tiny amount. As soon as the system detects a loss of grip (which is instantly) it diverts the power 100% to the wheels with the grip, you can have 100 front 0 rear power, and the same the other way around.

Yes they spinn with a very tiny amount but I have a hard time beleiving that the system can respond that quickly, If it does I surrender and are impressed of BMW's system in that way. In Audi's defence, the torsen-diff needs some resistance on the axle with less grip to be able to transmit more tourqe to the axel with better grip and rollers are giving none, that doesn't really reflect a real track-obstacle.

I think the reason is because the Haldex system require much more spinning to get the liquid boiled in order to expand and start converting torque to the opposite axle. Not just because of side to side converting. The BMW uses open diff as well.
The BMW with electronic hydraulic multi-plate clutch can convert torque from front to back way better.
Was the Audi stabilization off??! Audi can do that test by distribution of power to the other wheels!

um the audi is quattro meaning if a wheel loses traction in the rear, the traction goes to the front.. i don't see the front tires trying to move.. something is turned off or broken.

Lol, BMW will do anything to make themselves look better even if it means lying. I drive an A4 and my dad has a 328ix, both awd. My Audi feels much better on the snow and gives the driver much more confidence in inclement weather. **(my audi is also slammed)** where as the BMW is not, so even more the reason for my car to handle worse, but it does not!!

Такая ситуация с audi или любой другой машиной с постоянным полным приводом может быть только в том случае если не работает или отключена EDS. А так как она составляет единое целое фактически с ABS и ESP то закрадывается очень смутное сомнение по поводу того что тут нахитрили баварцы при испытании.
Кстати пересмотрел видео ещё раз что она специально держала очень мало газ при подъёме, меньше секунды. EDS срабатывает плавно ему нужно время для того чтобы во-первых понять что колесо пробуксовывает 1 либо 2 либо 3и она она плавно передаёт крутящий момент на остальные колёса для того чтобы не было рывка, проскальзывания, эта система предназначена для грязи да в принципе если ты поднимаешься в гору и одно колесо либо два у тебя шлифует то она постепенно отключает точнее постепенно блокирует их, передавая плавно крутящий момент на другие колёса, а это видео очень хитро сделано. Восхлавляя возможности x-drive который позволяет мгновенно передавать крутящий момент из одной оси на другую. Но как это сказывается в реальных условиях эксплуатации на грязи на гололёде и надо ли это в реальных условиях эксплуатации это большой вопрос.

totaler bullshit, die frau im auto gibt beim audi garkein gas wenn sie in den rollen steht. Das regelungs system bei audi ist mechanisch und beim bmw arbeitet es mit automatik.
How do you suppose the test is fixed? I "was" about to buy the 2013 Q5 because I believed that Quattro is the superior all-wheel drive system. I never considered the BMW xDrive all-wheel drive system at all. I need to investigate further before spending any money on a new CUV.
It's not really a fair test because they don't show you the interior of the car, like the dashboard with the speedometer when they're doing the test. They pretty much disabled the ESP on the Audi to show that the BMW is better.
Omg glaub ihr wirklich das XDrive besser is es ist einfach nur scheiße ein Freund von mir hat XDrive davor hatte er Quattro er kam jeden Berg hoch und jetzt scheitert er bei jedem kleinsten Anstieg.Einfach nur bitter von BMW so ein scheiß zu machen genau das ist der Grund warum ich BMW nicht mag!
