We had this same issue on christmas day last year, a pygmy goat kidded a single doeling in below zero temps. when I found it it hadn't been cleaned off at all, it was wet and cold. I brought it in and my wife wrapped it in a towel and and a heating pad and just held it inside her jacket against her chest. my wife sat there and held that doeling for over an hour wrapped in the heating pad inside her jacket. once the kid got warmed up she started getting really active and we gave her a bit of honey and some of her moms milk. after about 4 hours we were able to re-unite mom and baby and they have been doing great since then.
Oh my God... I love these videos where, in the beginning, it's all tears and hope, and in the end, it's all baby goats' cuteness and tail wags. It makes me happy (and a little emotional) to see her recovering. Already has passed 1 year. Is she okay now?
She’s a spoiled princess who still comes in the house for crackers and will become a mother this spring… she’s a special goat and my husbands soul goat 🥲❤️🙌🐐
A tote and a heating pad works wonders too. I have never had to bring a goat back from the brinck of death but I have done multiple of kittens and puppies. It is stressful but a labor of love. Glad to see here coming around.
Her next few nights were in a tote with a heating pad next to our bed until she got really good at regulating her own body temp. She's a very special member of our herd now. The only goat let out to come inside the house for treats on a daily basis lol Mark is absolutely smitten with her.
Awww what a Blessing, poor lil heart such a sweet beautiful lil girl with a God given fighting spirit within her…She’s a princess warrior from God ready to take on the world….Cant wait to watch her progress…Such a beautiful miracle….Love the Lazarus name!! God Bless
I'm so happy to hear you saved the one. It takes away the sting for the others lost but I am so sorry you had to experience that part of animal husbandry. The losses can be so tough sometimes. I"m glad you saved yours too!
Just one helluva job bringing her back from the brink. To see that completely limp little body, showing zero signs of life, to now that bouncy, happy, perfectly healthy little girl, is absolutely amazing. Huge kudos to you!!!
She definitely taught me to not give up on a "lost cause". She's a spoiled little monster now who still comes in the house for cookies every now and then. She'll be having her own babies next year.
Great job saving that tiny little angel. I have a goat teaching channel too, I've had some born like that.I like how you put her in a bag to keep her dry, great idea. Too bad you can't bring all three goats inside til the little one is strong enough. I've done that but they sure make a mess. I don't mind as long as they survive, losing one breaks my heart.
Thank you! We definitely didn't expect her to make it but she's a strong girl. She still comes in almost every day for a handful of cereal. She's spoiled lol
I had four born from one nanny and it’s legs were straight back, put it in 5 gallon bucket for 5 hours and out to bottle feed and back in bucket for 5 days She is running and jumping like it never happened Just don’t give up on them please ❤
This is amazing. I just recently had a mom reject her babies, we r able to save one. Mom ended up not making it. Some great tips here in the future if it happens again.
We had a first timer attempted to give birth only to have the kid’s neck was stuck on the birth canal, (Nigerian) and she was running with the rest of the others with kid stuck still, it was very cold that morning about 2 months ago. I knew it was dead(or had little to no hope), managed to get in and pulled the baby out, of course no sign of life and started rubbing and sling it side to side, breathed into multiple times and tried letting momma to lick him off as I watched Blue Cactus Dairy Goat Owner did, a gifted master goat momma in human form in our opinion and lo and behold I started seeing the movement in his eyes along with hint of sounds, as we speak now Billy(named by our grandsons) is the most darling little buck, we can’t part with him!.
Doctors have this saying “You’re not dead until you’re warm & dead” because even humans can recover from freezing sometimes. It’s just another mystery we haven’t figured out yet but at least we’ve gotten to the point of saving some. 🥰
In this case that would have been much too slow. I've learned a lot from who I think you're talking about. Sandi is an AMAZING woman and I really look up to her. I have seen her put her lambs in OB gloves and use a hot water bath to bring them up quickly. We use a little box with heating pad when they just need warmed up a little. This little lady was so cold when I found her I thought for sure she was dead.
Dont leave that baby by herself, mom could decide to cull the baby because she might think its weak and would slow the heard down and endanger the other kid, thats a natural instinct.
She was closely monitored. The goal is always to let the dam raise her kids if at all possible. She wanted her but baby was just not able to self regulate heat. She became a house goat for about a month and is a sweet member of our herd if not spoiled rotten :). It is a natural instinct and we're very aware of it after a decade of breeding and raising goats and thankfully have almost never had moms abandon babies. Thanks for watching! We always appreciate it!

She is a little warrior, I almost cry watching her tiny and unresponsive, thank you for saving her I'm happy that you didn't let her on its own.
She is the MOST spoiled goat here :) She still visits us inside every now and then for animal crackers. We love her to death!

She's precious 🥰. I'm so glad you were able to save her.
She is one of the SPUNKIEST little goats we've ever had!

I'm really sorry to hear about your momma goat. It's so hard raising and breeding livestock sometimes.
The best.

Awww thank you my sweet friend! I hope you're doing well in this summer heat!
Teach your children to love animals and they will turn out to be great people ❤

I have had better luck using a heating pad. Wrapping them completely in a fabric heating pad.
Great job!.. Now subscribed :). I have a momma due any moment..
Awesome! Thank you!
If the come out with their tongue out, does that mean there is no hope?
No I've had quite a few come out with their tongues out, sometimes already demonstrating a suckle reflex.
❤❤❤❤
How about a little box with a heating pad and a nice blanket. That’s how another RUclipsr saves her tiny and cold lambs.

Awww Danette! I am so incredibly sorry to hear that! Praying that your heart mends, the loss of a favorite is always so heart breaking!
@@MulberryBranchFarm yes, yes it was she died in my arms.
A true blessing 💕
