My $200 Commercial Zero Turn has issues! Is it the carburetor? Or - ? Yazoo Kees | Garage Story

  • This week I'm back working on the Yazoo Kees 42" ZT Max commercial grade zero turn mower. I've gotten it to run a little bit, but it keeps running out of fuel. So I'm going to give the Kawasaki carburetor a clean and see if that helps. It may turn out to be an obscure electrical problem: we'll see!

The piece with all the tiny holes is the emulsion tube.

Yes, that’s the right term for it. Thanks!

Hey there, I am a 58 yr old NY homeowner with 3/4 of an acre of property. Over the years I have done everything possible to maintain my equipment on my own. I love the approach you take with your videos by walking through the troubleshooting process. I find this so valuable and would like to thank you. Where is your Thanks button? You should put it up like others do on RUclips.

Those tiny screwdrivers are notorious for damaging main jets...ah I see that you did get a new driver. You'll appreciate it more. Don't forget your idle jet

I think I could use some more small screwdrivers. One broke, and another I ground down to fit a tight spot. I can’t remember if that was in this video or a different one

Try replacing the fuel line, mine was deteriorating internally and clog the fuel delivery to the carb 7:26

Seems like it turned out to just be junco in that 90 deg fitting coming out of the tank. It’s working now!

I’m probably looking at $1,500 to $1,200 USD. Yeah, I may hang on to it for awhile, we’ll see!

Strange thing to have that one piece of fuel shut off device can cause it not to run correct 😮

@@garagestory my thoughts on the fuel shut off were a little off but it is running again because of the universe key switch which is the same one that m.t.d and snapper mowers use they are common on some of the mowers main thing is that you got it running again

It is not a fuel shut off solenoid, it is the anti after fire solenoid. It shuts off fuel to the main jet. The second long piece you pulled out of carburetor was the emulsion tube. Cut the pintle (small metal rod) off the solenoid and you won't have to worry about it not working in the future.
