Being somebody who's been in Bowling his entire life and I'm almost 40, I genuinely enjoy watching people Bowl you don't have to be the best out there the most consistent or the most entertaining I like watching people throw I like seeing the different styles. I too want to win a Regional one day so I'm on the same boat as you. Keep doing what you're doing I'll keep watching no matter what best of luck to you. Hopefully one day I'll be able to cross with you at a regional
Darrin Tang put out a video today coaching a 2 hander. 1 of the elements he coached on could be helpful in accelerating your development. I like the videos you put out, I certainly do not want to miss your regional vlogs. Joe Grondin records his shots then later just does a voice over. That type of video is pretty awesome too.
Wouldnt mind seeing some of your practice sessions and progress videos on 2 handed being posted here. I can see how trying to make an entertaining video and bowl well in a competitive setting could be hard.
Tournaments aren't easy man, you know how it is. Gotta keep grinding, maybe don't film one see how it goes or have a friend take care of it for you so you can focus.
I actually like the not doing bad because most of us can relate to that and we can get ideas from you on how you get through the bad times to help our games
You are so right about focus. I was president of a BIG league for 5 years and it was distracting as hell. My average went up 15 pins to 2 teens the next year! Focus! Good luck buddy !
Like the another comment said, it looks like sometimes you come up the back too much and the ball kind of planes out and then other times you get around it more and it drives better. I think your two hand game could be very good. I also think you should consider throwing with one hand on non hooking spares.
Really you bowling bad is the reason I watch the video... Because I know how tough they are, and the pros make it seem easy. Keep it up! You legit do not need to make it a fun video, you are bowling regionals. We like to see how the patterns play, what adjustments we could make if in that situation, basically a what and what not to do.
On this pattern tonight in my ss league. Bowled 8 on it Friday(it pays to be on good terms with management and the mechanics). I pretty much bowled my ss average on it.
Hey man, I just love watching you bowl these regionals, it would be a huge shame if you stopped doing them. At the end of the day, you have to do what's right for you, try a "boring" style one next time and see how you feel about it after you post it!
I was at the tournament for the senior portion to watch my coach. The pattern was pretty brutal. I didnt stay to see the regular pba guys as watching 8 games of frustration from tons of bowlers was a bit much first thing in the morning. Would have liked to see you and forrest bowl had I more energy. Probably wouldnt have said hi tho. I never bug bowlers before/during a tournament unless I personally know them. Enjoy the videos however u do them btw.
It actually wasn't terrible at all. You just started learning to bowl two-handed and stayed above 170 on every game for the whole set. That is really good! You just need to improve your spare shooting and if you made more makeable spares your set would have been even better. Also try to learn how to create more axis rotation on your strike ball when needed so you can get it to come back stronger and give you more miss room. You are definitely improving so keep up the great work!
For tournament vlogs, don’t worry about the actual content! We will enjoy what you put out! Your other fun videos will make up for tournament vlogs! Don’t worry so much about the angles and the interviews and stuff. Get one solid angle and give it your best shot. Theres enough fun content on this channel that one “boring” video (in your words) will not affect my viewership at least lmfaooo but keep grinding bro! That top finish will come
If it makes you feel any better Mike, I only averaged 196 at a house shot tournament this weekend. Not ONE game over 225, just a whole smattering of 180s with a 222 thrown in. Was so mad. And I too am going two handed next year. Can't wait. Sick of only getting 175 RPMs and having to shoot six single pins a game.
You haven't been bowling much two-handed either man. Keep the grind going and do what you have to do to succeed. I also have a question, why stay in the Gem so long? Looked like it was burning up on you at least mid game 2 haha. I could be totally wrong, just looked like you needed an asym pearl there. I'm not a pro either, just curious.
If your doing something local in the 209 area again or at earl Anthony's let me know I've never recorded before but if it will help you be more focused I'm down to lend my help
You have quite a few of your one handed techniques interfering with your 2 hand approach and release affecting your accuracy.....but still having a minimum 170 at a regional is pretty phenomenal for just starting your 2 hand journey
I agree. Unless you can afford to hire someone to film you, I would not do the regional vlogs. More important to focus on bowling well. Perhaps you can get your lovely Mom to film you. That way you have a supporter as well.
Yea, I wouldn’t be focused on bowling if I was also trying to film at the level you do. For these vlogs, maybe hand it off to some aspiring high school kid or just a still video like you suggested (we all know you want your videos as entertaining as possible!). When you’re at those regional tournaments, you’re there to bowl and nothing more in my opinion. Love your content(by far best bowling content on RUclips!), but would much rather see you succeed in these tournaments!
We love interactive videos and usually you do way better. This is just a one off time. You showed us you are one of the best being able to use crazy balls and bowl all types of crazy patterns. Just got to do what you do best
your 2 hand game looks better than your 1 hand game if i had 2 pieces of advice the 1st would be work the inside of the bowling ball on release seems your coming straight up or your working the outside of the ball maybe just try a finger insert on that ring finger and no grip on your middle finger you'll feel your ring finger working the inside of the ball and have a stronger rolling ball 2ND when your not bowling get a football and practice throwing in underhand like a 2 hand bowler would and practice throwing that football under and getting a spiral like you'd be throw the bowling ball IT HELPS IT WORKS GET A FOOTBALL
Not the result you wanted, but your 2 handed game does seem to be improving. Your hand position at release is getting more consistent. Still a long way to go, but I can see you've been working on it. Keep it up. 👍
I've been watching your videos for about a year now or so. and I'm not a coach or anything, however I really liked your style when you were bowling one handed. I know 2 handed the ball goes through the pins better, however, to me, you just don't look as accurate. Just a thought, keep up the good work!
Personally I think you should keep recording the Tournaments, keep them either in a vlog or documentary type of situation for yourself mainly to look back on. Maybe you will see something you can change and improve on. And, treat these different than your fun videos, but I would love to see you do a "fun" league video since those are much easier shots to shot on allowing you more room for video content. TLDR: just treat your regionals as a vlog, more so than an entertainment video it can help show others what they don't know or understand about PBA patterns vs THS patterns.
I feel like you were much more consistent as a 1 hander. Working to keep your hand more inside the ball was a video you posted not to long ago. Then you switched to two handed. If it's more fun and you enjoy the challenge I understand. I'm just confused why you posted a video working on your release and then seemingly gave up 1 handed all together
I feel like your shot is good, but your approach is slow, and since you're packing so much muscle mass it looks clunky. I had a similar issue when I bulked up to 250. I wasn't flexible, or generating much power. Until I started generating more speed with my feet, and created a twitchier release. Working on flexibility helped a lot too, especially with getting lower to the ground and getting behind the ball.
Your experience level seems too limited to be competing with these guys. I would suggest changing your league and tourny schedule to compete with lesser competition. Dominate those then step up to regionals. And don’t waste your time on house patterns. They create bad habits!
Trust me get away from the GEM. Best thing I ever did. Overhyped ball that has no back end. Stick to any of the Widow line and you would be a lot more consistent with the way you throw. Just an opinion dont take it to heart. :)
I agree. That's what I'm seeing too. Jason Eubanks was right when he reviewed it. It reminds me of the follow up to the original One, the Big One. That ball just took off no matter where you put it and no matter what surface it might of been at. Not the worst idea if you have like 150 RPMs but how many bowlers only have 150 RPMs? A Black Widow 2.0 Hybrid would be really good for Mike's game. Or the Game Breaker 4 Hybrid that came out a couple months ago.
Watching someone else bowl is pretty boring, unless it's a tight match or big score. IMHO if you want to compete seriously, the camera should be operated by someone else. You should put 100% concentration into bowling matters. Maybe narrate the footage later and recap your bowling and the tournament in general. P.S. pls work on your spares.
Being somebody who's been in Bowling his entire life and I'm almost 40, I genuinely enjoy watching people Bowl you don't have to be the best out there the most consistent or the most entertaining I like watching people throw I like seeing the different styles. Should've brought the world's largest fingerholes ball lol
See you in a few weeks in Hawaii. Have a safe trip out here!
See ya soon!
Definitely appreciate someone willing to put together content with good edits and authenticity. 👍

I love ur videos. I hope u get to 100k subs soon

thanks for shouting out my mom bro
Your mom’s a real one, dude. We appreciated her kindness and willingness to help!
Aww man if I was in the area I’d offer to help filming but I’m sure there’s gotta be some one out there that can help out? Good luck on the next one!
I actually like the not doing bad because most of us can relate to that and we can get ideas from you on how you get through the bad times to help our games

Great video man, keep it up

100% agree
Hey holmes! Love your vids, keep'em coming

Don't give up!!
Keep grinding!
Cats are so perceptive when one is in a stressful dilemma 😻😻😻
The ball rotation is looking different from one throw to the next. Keep grinding though we love to see it

I just enjoy the content personally. No need to get distracted by filming.
Oh man..... i love watching casey since he bowls in the same sport shot leagues here. That's just unlucky with all the splits XD
I love the cat
Just a curious question, are you going to the practice sessions too or are you just going and bowling the regional itself?
I Skip the practice session. Always plays different from the actual tournament

time to get back to one handed so we still believe u are a 220 bowler 😅
Michael, just bowl one handed. You look more natural one handed.
You need a camera person/producer so you can focus on bowling. I’ll go to Hawaii 👀
I remember the last time he went there!
Make sure you show all da kine grindz that brok da mout, eh!
I clicked because cat. More cat please.
Work, bowling, patreon, vlog, YT, my friend, it sounds like burnout. Pace yourself.
I don’t know what else I’d do with my time 🙃
Can always just do update vlogs after the regional.
We love interactive videos and usually you do way better. This is just a one off time. You showed us you are one of the best being able to use crazy balls and bowl all types of crazy patterns. Just got to do what you do best
Nice video "Mr. Donater".
These regionals are funded by your views. Thanks for watching, lil bro 🙂

I’ll video for you
Did any of you guys see EJ Tackett just bowl a 300 game on TV???
At what event
yes, was hoping EJ would have dropped that 300 while bowling against Belmo
Not the result you wanted, but your 2 handed game does seem to be improving. Your hand position at release is getting more consistent. Still a long way to go, but I can see you've been working on it. Keep it up. 👍

Cool tech bowling bowling tournament PBA professional bowling 220 adverage bowler
If you stop making these vlogs I’ll cry

If you stopped making the vlogs then we won't see as much of the journey for when you win your regional.
Did you even get 200? 😢
I didn’t see a X in the palm? Are you using illegal bowling balls? Lmao
Seems like your just getting a little too fast with your feet, try slowing down your approach just a tad bit
Wow that’s kind of like watching a train wreck.
I feel like your shot is good, but your approach is slow, and since you're packing so much muscle mass it looks clunky. I had a similar issue when I bulked up to 250. Like you could generate absurd power with your build but your not maximizing it.

Hi Joey
Your experience level seems too limited to be competing with these guys. I would suggest changing your league and tourny schedule to compete with lesser competition. Dominate those then step up to regionals. And don’t waste your time on house patterns. They create bad habits!
