These regional vlogs are some of my favs of yours, even though I love the wacky ideas that are on the main channel too. The straight forward competitiveness aspect of these are nice, and I can definitely relate to watching someone struggle in a tournament. So yeah keep working at it!
Also, I think I speak for all of us watching these videos.... It doesn't have to be non stop comedy. With or without all the fart sounds we enjoy seeing you progress and get better. Seeing you and forest bowl regionals is some of my favorite content.
Aw Mike, some days ya just can't get a break. But your supporters are always glad for an extra video. Great to see Forrest, and Cagle always has me in stitches. 💞 oh this is me, just regular Jennifer B. I finally put up my avi.
Tim is such a chill dude. I still don’t comprehend what’s going on when he’s bowling. It’s like when my niece is trying not to spill her bowl of cereal 😂
I like your arm swing, and you throw the ball well with two hands. I enjoyed watching your back-up balls on spares. It must be fun to bowl with Cagle. this video was very entertaining.
Always entertaining. I just left my league night about 2 hours ago feeling the way you did here (millions of open frames) so yea... I can relate. At least I feel a little better now. Thank you!
It was cool seeing that you crossed with a buddy of mine (Joe Pepitone). He and I run scratch tournaments down in the SoCal area. Glad to see he made an appearance on here
I think u should try the 2 handed back up ball go to the dark side and play like a lefty u might be surprised it actually looks more natural and for what u showed u have control using it
I've been bowling for a while now and I've always been amazed at two handed bowlers. Especially with Spares. I have enough trouble bowling with new hand I don't know how you guys bowl with two.
2 handing spares is no joke especially the corner pin of your dominate hand, the natural revs combined with the ability to keep it straight is no joke...his backup ball shots were really good tho...also it's no need to always be entertaining, I'm sure most of your viewers are around age if not older and just enjoy the bowling good or bad
I’ve been thinking about switching to 2 hands, ever sense I had wrist surgery it’s hard to do a full follow through when releasing the ball without a brace.
It sucks starting so late because I have to do alot of self coaching and rely on people ive met that are experienced bowlers to help out. I was 1 handed cause i love the style but i focused on rev rate alot and i pulled the ball but spare shooting was good. I went back to 2 hand cause it felt more natural and i wasnt trying so hard to put rev on it cause i could crank my wrist. Other day im goofing around 1 handed and felt like everything just clicked XD now im stuck between what to do. My sport shot avg also dropped by 10 pins going to 2 handed even though it felt like i threw the ball more consistently and spare shooting was that much worse as far as i could tell
I bowled this regional and I think I finished -298 😢😂, so I feel your pain!!! It was pretty frustrating not gonna lie!!! But I've made some adjustments and I'm gonna bowl a lot better for the Earl Anthony Open!!!! -Avree Johnson
i'm not sure if you consider your backup ball good. whenever i try to throw like that i feel like it's trying to smash my fingers into splinters. so much so that i stopped putting any fingers inside the ball. but even that gave me more of a chance at hitting a tenpin than i've had trying to roll 2 handed straight
Like is said whatever doesn't kill you makes you stronger....on to the next one! The Pro conditions are so much harder to bowl well on, hope the next one the right ball for lane conditions on the next tournament !
Wait we were bowling on Carmen Salvino I swore it was Johnny Petraglia!! 😂😂😂 let’s get em in Hawaii no matter how good or bad we bowl there’s a beach not far away 🏝️
I’ve always wondered how well do you have to bowl at a regional to bowl on the national tour with chances to make tv? And how do you qualify for a regional
There isn't much of a difference between throwing it really well at a regional and throwing it really well at a national tournament. It all depends on the field and the environment. There have been tournaments where as low as a 205 average makes match play and there have been tournaments where you need to average over 220 just to cash. As far as "qualifying" for a regional, I think all you need is a 200+ average across at least 36 games during the previous season. I've averaged 205 or so for the last decade or so but this year I changed things up and now only average 194. So in order for me to bowl in a regional next season, I would need to average 200+ across at least 36 games before the end of the season (Second or third week of August I believe).
I think you need to be able to consistently win at regional tournaments to have a shot at making a tv show. The national guys are miles better than the regional guys. Darren has 10+ regional titles and has a tough time out there
I admit to never having seen a 2 handed bowler till I got back into bowling about a year or so ago. Why do you want to shoot 2 handed vs the traditional 1 handed you are used to? What benefits do you gain with it? Is it easier to do vs one handed?
Benefits, you get more pin action so you have a slightly higher strike percentage. This is cause it's easier to get for Rev's in your throw vs 1 handed. You also put less stress on other parts(wrist and elbow) vs 1 handed, but at the same time you're increasing the stress on other parts. 1 handed bowlers normally have a higher spare percentage than 2 hander bowlers. But it mainly comes down to how comfortable you able to throw the ball with consistency to the pocket.
What if you shot your spares one handed like Osku Palermaa used to? Just keep a pitch black or plastic ball with a thumb in it. Also, you can show me slowmos of Tim Cagle all day, and I'd still have no clue how he does it.
It just seemed that every ball you tried pretty much did the same thing, got up the lane and flipped like crazy. This is exactly what you do not want on sport shots. Backend reaction is built into the pattern, you need to control that pattern with a ball that reads earlier and is smooth and controlled, something that lets you go straighter up the lane. This is why the pros will use urethane when the lane is super flippy and once they carry it down go to a strong early resin to take advantage of the control the carry down creates. I would consider some less flippy balls with smoother, earlier layouts.
I don't even own a spare ball. Break your wrist and you can throw any ball straight. I'm known as "One ball Larry" in league and my name isn't Larry. 😂
Look on the bright side; 1. Forrest did not do so well either. 2. I can't think of a better way to chuck away a couple of hundred bucks and change, looked like fun.
Its all good....one can see what went wrong in your shots..great learning vidieo..we all have off days...maybe if whittle down your ball collection and concentrate on the few and really understand the ball you are using at the time and what to expect as the alley dries out..love your vids and your attitude.😀😀😀🎳🎳🎳🎳🎳🎳🎳🎳
You ever think bout throwing the 2handed backup ball as your strike ball? You seemed to throw that in a super consistently way…if you get what I’m saying
For me, a already invested viewer, I think you are trying too hard. I just wanna see you bowl and know how you did and see the Vlog because it's a behind the scenes in your Regional experience. For new viewers i feel like this would have been an odd video for them to come in to no matter what. You did a great job!
Honestly I'm surprised Michael isn't throwing his spares 1 handed till he gets used to doing a 2 handed release. Even Darren Tang, when he was learning to throw 2 handed was throwing his spares 1 handed. Note Darren still bowls 1 handed mainly, but he does stupid challenges for his League videos as well his challenge videos for coaching or ball videos.
Im just going to say this kindly... Your ball speed is too slow. You can STROKE the ball with a 2 handed approach like you are trying to do. You wont have the ball speed to push the ball down lane. You constantly display this issue while bowling with 2 hands. You are a better 1 handed bowler than you are a 2 handed bowler.

I too average 220 in league, and yeah, that’s what my tournaments look like too!
Always cool to see footage of Tim.
And I too am going 2 handed. Next year in fact.

No matter how many times I watch Cagle bowl, my brain still can't make sense of it. Lol
It's like watching Charles Barkley trying to golf for the first time.
his back will tell you some day,and it wont be a nice story
Easily the most chaotic, unstructured bowling style. Idk why he throws that way

Salvino 44 is so hard. You have to play it so tight and there’s like a 3 board margin for error if that
