Hello, I came across your super TOP channel yesterday by chance, I've already seen all the videos and some even twice, I appreciate your great work, it's really great, I have similar hobbies myself, I've watched a lot, how little you've redone, it's to see that it is well thought out and that the brain works first and then the hands, this is a great job and it is not like welding something somewhere, even a small one is great, I mainly watched that he is not afraid of the welding machine and that he tries to put his hand to the work, that's great, I myself have two girls aged 8 and 9, they also try, the younger one is not afraid of machines and work, but the older one is more careful, they both help, they are darlings. I think that this is the only way to develop in a child the joy of his good work and not to have an apathetic fool at home with his eyes on the monitor, although I do not forbid them to play video games, but everything in moderation. In conclusion, I would like to apologize for any bad grammar or not very good translation, I understand English well, but putting together a meaningful sentence is beyond my power, so I prefer to write through a translator, I am born in 1982, the totality of the Soviet tip and only one language ruled here in the Czech Republic apart from Czech, there was Russian, so that's where the handicap came from.
Glad you appreciate it. My son and I really just work on I on a Sunday afternoon when we have time. But we have enjoyed every minute. He has no fear, but he is very practical and a quick learner. Not sure what I would have done if I had girls, I'd probably still be out teaching them how to mig weld and rebuild differentials. We're working on the next episode which should be coming soon, building the wiring harness to get the lights working etc before we break it down again to paint. Keep watching.. 😊👍
Hah, absolutely. I'm having way too much fun with this thing 😊. I'm already thinking we need an off road camping trip across Scotland once it's all painted up... 😉
Thanks, you should watch the rest of the series! The jeep has been painted and has all of its transfers now. We're currently now working on the machine gun.. 😁 👍
what can I say!!! fantastic does not cover your work. This mini Jeep build is most definitely the best by far on the internet. I got a notification about your video and I could not wait to get home and watch it as I do with all your uploads. The proportions are spot on in my eyes and perfectly done to a very high and structural standard. lots of support and respect to you and your son from down in Kent 👍
It is turning out well, especially given the lack of accurate dimensions available for these things. Many of the measurements have come from a 1/12 scale RC jeep and then whatever we can find on line to validate and cross reference them, it should be fairly accurate but I would love to sit it next to a full sized Willys Jeep or GPW just to compare. We haven't actually seen one in real life yet..! Thanks for watching, and for following the build. Really appreciate the comments... 😊👍
That looks so authentic, you really know your jeeps. I wanted to make one out of an old riding lawn mower and I know I would have made a lot of errors and consessions cutting corners.
Thanks, it has been an education. It's amazing what we've learned from building the jeep. There's something about the shape of the original that is just so rugged and capable, we wanted to replicate that and I think it turned out pretty good! Got it stripped back down to the bare chassis at the moment ready to paint, can't wait to build it back up and get the WW2 stencils etc. on there.. Thanks for watching 😊👍
The military jeep project was amazing, it just lacked the original wheels and tires! and the grilles on the headlights, congratulations on the job.👋👋👋👋👋, Brazil🌎
Thank You..! We're thinking about getting it tested and approved for use on the UK public Highway so that we can do a final cross Scotland road/camping trip. We may need to look at putting different wheels on it as the current tyres aren't road legal. It has Suzuki Jimny hubs so the original Jimny steel wheels will fit, it may be just be a case of sourcing tyres similar to the original Willys tyres... One for a future episode maybe.. 😉 Thanks for watching, it's not done until that invasion star is painted on the bonnet..! 😉👍
You did a super great job and the attention to detail is off the charts BUT you did make one mistake, you made it right hand steer, I don't know for sure if they ever made a right hand steer but all the ones I have seen are left hand steer...
Ha ha, thank you 😊 They didn't come from the factory RHD, however many that went to Australia were converted as it was illegal to drive a LHD vehicle on Australian roads for some time. This is the 1st RHD purpose built from scratch.. 😉 Thanks for watching 👍
Just wanted to ask....are you a military person? I want to salute you sir 🫡 and second thing I want to appreciate what you have given to your son will be passed on to your grand son 😅 love from INDIA ❤ I am fond of jeeps and I found this 😅
Glad you found it! No, we're not military. My late father lived through World War 2, and spent a couple of years in the army so the Jeep is a tribute to all three generations. Thanks for watching 🙂 👍
@@oliverbanford Ахах, я ошибся 😁. Я имел ввиду кронштейн на 8:27. Понравился весь процесс изготовления, думаю, в целом прототип изготавливался похожим образом.

OK 👍 Let us get the build finished first and we'll then look to providing full details and dimensions. We're working on the wiring harness at the moment, then strip down, paint, then first camping trip. Lots still to look forward to.. Next video coming soon.. 👍
Thanks! The majority of the cost has been in the raw materials such as the chassis/frame and body steel. It has been quite expensive to build, but I think the sum outcome is worth more than all of the individual components. I smile every time I see this thing.. Thanks for watching 😀👍
Ha, I wish it was that easy! We're working on the wiring harness, then strip down for a coat of Olive Drab WW2 green matt paint and transfers. Then we will get this thing out on the trail for a camping expedition..! Thanks for watching, and for the comment..! 😊👍
Thanks for the comment 👍 The jeep is 4/5 scale, so 80% of the real thing. The body (tub) is 1160mm wide, the ladder chassis is 600mm wide by 2600mm from bumper to bumper. Happy to provide any other dimensions, just post in the comments. Thanks for watching 🙂👍
Yeh, I dont wear a cycle helmet either.. It's a good point, and I guess down to personal choice and a generational thing at the end of the day. I was brought up as an old school Generation X, not saying its right for everyone but it works for me. I get injured sometimes, and when I do it's usually something stupid that I've either done or rushed that gloves probably wouldn't have stopped. I do trust my own judgement and experience, and I've no issue reaching for the needle and thread and stitching myself up on occasion, or sometimes just a wee dab of Super Glue sorts it out. No Snowflake nonsense about here.. I do always wear eye and ear protection though, you can't stitch those back together. Thanks for watching 🙂 👍
Your assembly of parts of the jeep is amazing accurately planned and systematic. Your work will surely be appreciated here in the Phil. Thank you for the reply. 🇵🇭😉
@junmarcelino8372 Thanks, we've seen some of the incredible jeeps created in the Philippines, extremely inspiring and ingenious 👏. In the UK we have easy access to tools and machines which makes it a little easier, it has still been a challenge to build this as close to scale as possible. Keep watching, more to come.. 😉 Thanks for watching 👍
It's coming, honest...! the wiring harness has been a nightmare with loads of work but very little interesting content to shoot. We've edited about 15 mins so far but need some good weather to get a few nice outside shots before we strip down for final weld up and paint. A week or two, weather dependent..🤞
More to come soon, we're working on the wiring harness so lights, ignition etc. Then strip down and paint for the first camping trip. Stay tuned..! Thanks for watching.. 😊👍
