    Drop a comment folks, what’s your favourite bit of gear to carry?

    Great video! What I would add: water filter, rain trousers and jacket. Sleeping bag liner. A Nalgene bottle. GPS unit incl reserve batteries. Food obviously, dryfrozen. Kitchen stove: Gas bottle and Primus Lite+ (summer) or Primus multifuel burner and 2 fuel bottles (winter). And last buy not least, my Kobo ereader. Regards from Sweden

    Criterion make superb gear, I've a down jacket from them that I got for the Pennine Way a couple of years ago. It weighs nowt & you're toast warm in seconds. You don't see much of it about. Nice load-out video, always good to see what others carry/use. The Trekker chair has been my favourite bit of kit this year, it's a game changer and again, hardly much of a weight penalty. ATB

    When I was a younger lad in the cadets we'd use bin liners inside our pack. Don't last long but did work for a day out.

    I don't have one piece of gear that's my favourite. Each item is part of the system that keeps me safe and warm up on the hill. Sometimes I swap out items that don't suit the surroundings or expected weather. The only thing missing from my last camp was a P bottle which I left at home in error. Some reyt bling gear you have there. Interestingly you say the thermorest seat works with the Big Agnes pad, was that the Rapide SL?

      i think its a pretty storm worthy tent - i have only limited testing with it. Very spacious inside (long). seems well built. The only gripe is the height getting in and out of the tent.

    I made a mistake during the cold snap in November 2023 and accidentally took my summer sleeping bag,i think rated down to 10c, and it got down to -6! However I will say that a summer sleeping bag at -6 is better than nothing at all!

    Hi,
    Is that radio a traditional tuning one or a new dab one? Can you get much reception when you head out?
    Thanks

      @thegeordiewildcamper  9 месяцев назад +1

      It’s actually really good. You get both dab and normal. Great little backup to have in the tent.
