I only use my TDS meter to monitor the efficiency of my RO unit. I’ve never found TDS readings on breeding aquariums to be much use as the meter measures both the mineral and organic material present in the water. TDS measures are however, useful for monitoring aquaria that are part of a linked filter system. Enjoyed the video 🤓👍

They want to give me one to try for a vid… I haven’t decided if I want to or not. Did you calibrate it before you used it? Sometimes that can make a difference. I tend to use the aqua medic probes and it’s best calibrate them every month if you want it semi accurate.

No I did not, but only because the instructions said it was pre-calibrated and that it would be good for 6 months. But I bet you're right, if I calibrated right away it would probably be more accurate. I should do that! Otherwise I think it's a handy little tool

Would want an App with that to see display on iphone for 24/7 monitoring. Can they add ammonia and nitrite and nitrate? oxygenation would be a big plus too.

An app would be great, I'm sure we'll get there eventually with technology. I wonder if monitoring those parameters would be possible? That would be great

I got either a 2 or 3 pack from the malwart a year ago just for the test kit. One was 10ml and the other was 20ml. I may be wrong on their sizes but damn are they handy

2023 and there using bulk items on the fish tank lol. Ill stick to my pen. Until they make this sleeker and wifi. They could have made it better by connecting to the phone. Other wise its just kinda junk tech. Cheers 😊

Haha yeah it is pretty massive! It's definitely a nice breeding tool for the fish room but I certainly wouldn't leave it on a display tank. It will be exciting to see advancements in technology like you're saying. Only a matter of time I'm sure!

Yes it is lol, I certainly wouldn't use it on a display tank. I don't care as much because it's more of a breeding tool for me than anything. Hopefully they can start making them a little smaller haha
