    Excellent strategy for internalizing the melodic aspects of rhythmic patterns - using the voice to sing each groove and variation. I'm curious if you ask students to learn to sing the pattern first, before being able to execute it on the instrument, or the other way around. Maybe it depends on the student, and perhaps the two interpretations are learned - vocally and physically - simultaneously. Thank you!

    Have you studied the Gary Chester "New Breed" method of drum teachings? He also implemented the vocalization why'll playing patterns
