I know that the Eva actors made this as a joke, but it sounds disturbingly like what the production meeting for Rebuild of Evangelion must have been like.
Asuka's my favorite, but Rei's rant at the end made me lol hard. I choked on my drink. Did not see that coming. And that plugsuit... um... Rebuild... awkward...
This is the first audio drama from EVA that I have watched and it's hard to imagine something another that would top this! It was SOOOOO funny! I can't help but headcanon that Asuka is actively aggressive to Kaworu because of her insecurities and she can sense that Kaworu, for a kid her age and a fellow EVA pilot, has higher self-esteem and is more comfortable/open about his attraction to Shinji that her. They didn't interact in canon so seeing this dynamic in these other media is filling my head with thoughts. While this audio drama is mainly comedy, I find it pretty clever the cast raised all the topics they did such as female fanservice and the mecha genre, both poking fun at it but at the same time implying the show's values weren't align to satisfy those audiences. SPOILER for 3.0 EVA Rebuild!!!!!!!!!!!!! Holy shit, Kaworu's line as the black ranger?! Omg omg omg. It dates as far back as 2002?! I don't what to do with this piece of information. I'm floored O.O
Looking back at these, it is quite alarming how many of the ideas they are parodying have been included in Rebuild. And now there is this rumor about Asuka going into space in 3.0. I wonder if that part will include a Black Space God voiced by Anno...

@@Konzon it’s a dialogue session of the original Japanese cast. They’re doing Schtick as if there was another episode. They break the 4th wall in this. It was recorded and included on the ‘Evangelion Addition’ CD. Very similar to drama CDs where the cast of something act out an episode. It’s pretty funny.
It all makes sense now actually... Rebuild is just another attempt at remaking the series that stemmed from this audio drama. 3.0+1.0 is gonna end with them all MST3King it in the NERV HQ drawn in the style of the original TV series.

I wish this was real, A second season where the characters no longer have mental problems and have to do... IDK what, but using the idea of having 28 angels instead of 18 sounded great for me! (and that's the biggest What If of EVANGELION Imao)
4:10 I get why Rei would put it on since she doesn't really know any better nor would she care, but why would Asuka willingly put on a revealing outfit like that in front of all her horny friends? I know she's a person who's proud of her body, but even she has standards. She's even voicing her disdain for it. At least in Evangelion 2.0 she was alone when she tried it on and she wasn't really given another option. Not to mention they're frickin 14. Don't you think it would've bin funnier and more in character if, instead of Asuka showing it off, she used Rei as the example to show how inappropriate the suit is, and then maybe Shinji, trying to be the gentleman, would come in and try to convince her to change back...while his nose is still bleeding? Sorry. I know this is a gag made for fun by the cast and isn't meant to be taken seriously, but that's just how attached I've grown to these characters.
