MY LOVE - An Original Song By Pamela Fernandez & Thomas Gunther

I hope you guys enjoy this song. It certainly has a vintage feel to it. But today everything goes again in pop music.
The story behind this release:
Pam and I wrote this song over a decade ago. We never quite finished it.
I discovered it at the beginning of 2022 when I was going through the files on my old MacBook looking for a different song. So glad I did, because I really like this song the way it sounds now.
I recorded it into Cubase at the time, so I had to find a way to export it to make it work in Logic Pro. Luckily I still had the USB key for authorizing Cubase. The most important thing (the only thing really) I converted were the vocal tracks. And there where a lot of them.
After I got them I began rearranging the entire song. I never told Pam about it.
I started with the rhythm section. I used Logic Pro’s ingenious drummer track to generate a nice funky drum track that I modified to make it fit perfectly with the rest of the band. I then spend a ton of time on the horns. Originally I only had a brass synth sound, so it didn’t really sound like a real horn section. Now I have Logic’s studio horns available to me. I think they sound great for a track like this. I arranged them as I would a real 7 piece horn section (2 trumpets, Alto, Tenor, and Bari, + Bone).
I also spent a lot of time of the bass. I use the Modobass plugin.
And then as it always goes, it’s all in the details. I love making sound like a real band playing together. So there are always little or not so little changes when a section gets repeated. Just like real musicians would do.
