  • Christus am Ölberge (in English, Christ on the Mount of Olives), Op. 85, is an oratorio by Ludwig van Beethoven portraying the emotional turmoil of Jesus in the garden of Gethsemane prior to his crucifixion. It was begun in the fall of 1802, soon after his completion of the Heiligenstadt Testament, as indicated by evidence in the Wielhorsky sketchbook.

Very instructive of Beethoven's (and Handel's) genius -- clearly gifts of Almighty God. Thank you.

+Flavio S. de Lima It's called Harmony Assistant by Myriad... Most excellent. I used Finale 2012c to place the notes and lyrics and export as an .mxl to HA. I use a screen capture product to place is in video form.

This synthesized program is more a novelty than a "teaching tool" I have sung this many, many times as1st tenor also as soprano during rehearsals using my falsetto voice.. the soprano part in this program is an octave lower than a natural soprano voice ..and the alto , also is not in true form.. case in point starting at 1:23 - 1:39 .. as a matter of fact..this entire program seems to be done in just ONE octave rather in the native S.A.T.B 4 part harmony. I would NOT use this program as a teaching tool for this song. but I guess it's fun to listen to IF one is really not concerned with a true depiction of HOW it is SUPPOSE to be done.

your edited post is certainly more maturely written than your original post.. as you seemed to be a tad aggravated for some reason... as I did read your original post prior to your edit.. thank you for the edit.
I was merely stating MY observation and opinion. I am well aware of the challenges this particular score carries. as it is not an easy score to sing.. I do recommend to those having any difficulties learning their respective part.. use a more realistic program..as there ARE a few here on RUclips : )

I have never noticed this before.. nor have I EVER been told.. HOWEVER, Since this is YOUR claim that I "ALWAYS".... then SURELY you have MANY examples of... as you say... My being in the judge's chair, passing sentence on the rest of the world "I approve of this; I don't approve of that." I am asking for ONLY 1 example. And PLEASE be precise so there is NO misunderstanding.

DUH! This is a tool (and a very useful one) for LEARNING THE NOTES prior to rehearsal. Have you not come across these for many major choral works before? No way is it supposed to be a guide to interpretation, and only a blockhead would imagine it was!!
