These Films were True Epics.The Cinema’s we’re mini palace’s built for them with Wide Screen and comfort and luxury many people would only experience there. El CID the film was only accurate in a few places.He was basically a mercenary as were many of the Warrior Class was in those days and he fought for more than one side until Valencia where he formed his own state.His life was as complicated as was the politics of Northern Spain was before the “Reconquesta” and the unity of all Spain into one recognisable state. I loved the film when my parents took me to see it,like many other Epics of the time.
@kingslegion1 I agree completely! Heston was amazing! I'll have to say, one other movie I consider one of the best is Chariots of Fire. It's in a different category almost, but I still consider it one of the best!
