As someone who listens to alot of heavy metal, those aren't growls by any measure. If anything Ben is projecting his voice much harder, using more of his throat to create a deeper scream, but using his own voice as the medium. Basically he's screaming through his own voice. But that isn't a growl by any means. It would be much deeper and more aggressive. Edit: a roar would be closer to what's he doing. Not as sharp as a scream but not deep enough to be a growl. Either way, I think Ben should scream more.
