boil it, cook it, peel it or forget it. Make sure you peel the fruits yourself. For drinks bottled stuff or propper hot water for fresh tee or coffe. Also ice can be bad...
At least Francis has figured out how to eat and drink in India if you are a tourist. Hope guys you get better ASAP. To share your indian experience with Jimmy/Emily, just bring them some indian food :)
I was constantly thinking of the Monty Python weak bladder marathon sketch where the guys are just running in and out the bushes on the side of the road 🤣🤣🤣 But in all seriousness: i really hope that you all feel better soon so that you can enjoy this great journey through India.
India - still on my bucket list...on an Enfield motorcycle. A good friend of mine who has travelled the world, we recently did Laos and Vietnam together, has done India multiple times. Never got Delhi Belly. His secret? Become a veggetarian for the month you are there and eat no meat...
I have another trick that does not mix with bikes or motos - drink alcohol everyday. The stronger the better. Before, during and after every meal. Adds to the experience too
India is synonymous with belly issues for non natives, I'd heard that it's something to do with the varieties of gut bacteria. The interesting thing is that once you get sick, supposedly the native bacteria colonizes your gut and you are now able to eat/drink freely. My pal spent two weeks of his three week stay, in hospital. Safe to say when I went there I took the Francis Cade approach, nothing goes into my mouth unless it comes from a packet or bottle, even brushing teeth.
True, I grew up in the Middle East, born to Indian parents. Whenever we would go to visit India, the first few days were always terrible because of the gut issues. Once past that, the gut was ironclad and we went to town with the local food.
I've been to India four times now, first time in 2015, last time in 2023. Last time was the first where I actually got really sick, eight years after my first visit. Generally I would recommend non-natives to avoid any kind of meat or fish and only eat stuff that is freshly peeled or cooked. No salads, no uncooked vegetables, no street food that is not served straight from the stove.
A good reminder to be really careful with hygiene when travelling outside Europe. Avoid uncooked food, ensure fruit and vegetables are clean and peeled. Only drink bottled liquids. Good luck to you all.
Just a thought, I would love spend some money on merch, styrkr, attacus,... for raffle tickets to join you guys on one of these bikepacking adventures. Also, Glad to see you're a bit better Francis!
Poor Lawrence and poor you… god he looks ill. Get some blood tests done when you’re back. Did you lads have all your vaccines before you left? Awwwww heal soon
Bros, hi. Sorry if my advise will be irrelevant in any way, but in current state You should buy bifidobacteries in capsules. Enterogermina or something similar. Because medicines can stop bad processes inside Your stomachs, but they will destroy Your bioma. To return back to normal or avoid bad scenarios You should try to take a capsule each day of some sort of gut bacteries.
Guys, hydrate well, avoid fizzy drinks …. Switch to ORS; and avoid fried food. Cooked food only. Get well soon guys… another state to cross before you get to Goa.
My mate started his cycling trip through India from Kashmir to southernmost point and started the same time as you but had to abandon because he felt at threat with that traffic
I would advise you guys to cancel this trip. Im sorry i have to be that guy. But you can't risk getting food poisoning or some sort of bacterial infection. Get well soon y'all.
Having spent two weeks in India for work a few years ago travelling across Rajasthan and Gujarat I would not recommend it for cycling or anything else for that matter. The appalling roads, the traffic, the dreadful driving, the animals, the inevitable illness all make it a terrible destination.
Schoolboy error eating fruit from roadside stalls. You were asking for trouble. The skwits and pooks were inevitable. Avoid ice, salad, fresh fruit......anything that might have been washed in dodgy water.
I saw you drinking the tea offered to you at the roadside on day 2 I think it was. Rookie mistake. Been there done that in India. Sealed bottle water only and then filter / treat it if at all possible. It'll pass. Literally.
Unfortunately a common experience when staying a bit longer in India. Feel better soon! Señor Calvo already predicted it: ruclips.net/video/IFUIdcrgW6M/видео.htmlsi=cXCWj6kDthbjCd8n
So when you have a stomach bug the worst thing you can do is prevent the body from releasing the bug. If I were you gentlemen I suggest finding some place where you can stay and let nature take its course or you will all have a tough go of it for a bit. Imodium should only be used as a last resort, I hope you all feel better and perhaps see a doctor if possible.
When I found myself about 10 feet from an Asiatic One Horned Rhino cow and calf with nothing but a flimsy shrub between us (having been led there by an overenthusiastic unofficial Nepali 12 year old 'guide' in May '95), deep in the Terai, miles from help, I wasn't worried... I was gonna just trip the wife up if we had to run. Well, she's an ex wife now. I was caught out once on the trip by an errant Buffburger. But was it the Buffalo? Or was it the salad?
CHARCOAL is the best! Free and helps better than anything... don't forget the white toast-bread and mineral water with extra salt and sugar. Stay strong
I'm sorry but this is exactly what I would think of when I think of trying to cycle through India. Nothing looks appealing about the country really. Things are going about how I would have thought. I hope you guys manage to stay off the most dangerous roads...
And this is why I do not travel to places like India. And you guys are not even showing how bad I assume it really is / was. Nothing better to be miserable with friends.
sometimes traveling means taking a few buttloads of ammodium but its such a shame to make it the focus / or even a prevalent thread throughout all the videos, there is so much more to the places that you are going through .. than what is going through you at whatever ferocious and explosive flow rate. Really hope things settle down and everyone feels better. You did know not to drink the water or have anything with ice in it I hope
Big Immodium is going to start sponsoring bike packing trips through India
Bad idea if you have food poisoning. Get Kaopeptate. You want to clear out your digestive system out.
Ben’s hilarious, just the way he speaks is entertaining. Get him on the pod when you get back
u guys really selling india here 😂
India sells itself.
they say it like it is. Went to Chennai for a business trip, got Delhi belly instead
boil it, cook it, peel it or forget it. Make sure you peel the fruits yourself. For drinks bottled stuff or propper hot water for fresh tee or coffe. Also ice can be bad...
Also, and this is just a personal anecdote, keep a flask of strong alcohol with you and take a shot before you eat, or drink anything.
@@doubletee5250 alcohol in your stomach doesn't kill bacteria. it only works if you marinate the food in it first
@@doubletee5250 Old wives tales are good for just that, old wives. Stick to actual medical advice.
@@MattRogersdesigns As I quite clearly said, it's anecdotal. It's what I do, and I haven't had Deli Belly. People can make of it what they like.
@@doubletee5250 What does help to some extent is eating high doses of caraway along with your food.
You poor guys.. I feel your pain. Hoping you all get better soon!! Ben is a champ for lugging that water around for Lawrence.
When i saw Lawrence eating that pinappl6kast episode i knew he was in danger.
Or was that mango? Either way I had the same feeling as soon as I saw it was roadside fruit.
Fruit is usually fine, it's "cooked" things you need to be wary of. I got salmonella in Sri Lanka from a hotel breakfast!
NOONE IS SURPRISED!!!! Hope eveyone feels better
LC:”Can you guys push me today?”🤕😷
Guys:”Here’s your taxi”🚕
Sadly, when anyone says they are traveling to India food poisoning is the first thing I think of.
Let's go to India, he says. It'll be fun, he says. What could go wrong. 😆
At least Francis has figured out how to eat and drink in India if you are a tourist. Hope guys you get better ASAP. To share your indian experience with Jimmy/Emily, just bring them some indian food :)
Who needs Ozempic when you have India !!!!
Hoping you'll be doing a Podcast with these guys after the trip as a round up!
One of the best tourism promotional videos on RUclips.
That face when he said “you’re joking” said it all.
Ben is awesome. So calm and funny!
Bike packing India = Charcoal tablets and wet wipes! Hoping the trip continues positively lads!
Exactly. I lost 4kg in 5 days while in Bangalore
I was constantly thinking of the Monty Python weak bladder marathon sketch where the guys are just running in and out the bushes on the side of the road 🤣🤣🤣
But in all seriousness: i really hope that you all feel better soon so that you can enjoy this great journey through India.
He's down because he had to shove you up yesterday's hills, Francis!
Feel better soon, boys! Take care of yourselves.
It’s as if you didn’t think you’d all get ill 😂
Did wonder when I saw you attacking the road side Swiss roll!
Great camaraderie and bantz as always. Look out for each other and all will be well soon. As you say @ 3:12 👊🏻
If theres one thing ive learned during this series its never ever go bike packing in India
😂😂😂

Would be interesting if there was science on it. You could get a immunisation meal and get over with it pre flight

look up H Pylori, its rife! They should probably all get tested for it once they return.
OMG, feel better soon! Still top content from Francis and his mates🎃
I watch all channels involving this trip 👍adventure to the max
Good stuff finishing the ride, Lawrence did look ill poor lad. Hope you all start feeling better and have a good nights kip.
Eat bananas and lots of it! Helps the tummy, all the best guys!
A good reminder to be really careful with hygiene when travelling outside Europe. Avoid uncooked food, ensure fruit and vegetables are clean and peeled. Only drink bottled liquids. Good luck to you all.
Feel so bad for Lawrence. He really looked terrible. Good on you guys for looking after each other.
Who could have possibly seen this coming!? lol
Not sure how you guys are finding solid internet for these video uploads in the middle of the jungle but do appreciate the content!
Only solid thing they have right now 😂
And now y'all know why I said a big nope on the intro to this trip video, and Nepal was probably "cleaner" up in the mountains.
Just a thought,
I would love spend some money on merch, styrkr, attacus,... for raffle tickets to join you guys on one of these bikepacking adventures.

When I went to Bali, both my wife and I were ill every day, we stopped consuming salad and ice, and that fixed us.
8:30 hahahahahaahaha, sorry Ben! 😃
Brown Water everywhere
Reminds me of Shane Warne, when ever he toured India, he would take loads of tins of baked beans and live on them, for fear of the sloppy 💩s.
Parle-G biscuits dunked in masala chai were my fuel on 6 months India trip
Gutted for you guys. Recover fast. Fittingly I'm going out for indian food tonight...
I dont know if that's the way. There's probably something inside that needs to go outside so stopping that wouldn't be too good
Does Francis have a list of equipment used on this ride somewhere? I love the glasses

Thanks Sazzle 🫶🏽 I’m fine now ❤

Gee, who woulda thought this would happen.....
Drink ORS frequently...and ride safe.
Take care Francis… stomach flu is no joke
At least it gives Lawrence an excuse to be miz.
"welcome to india" - Ben

Astounded that experienced world travelers were surprised by Gandhi's Revenge.
@4:46 'Lawrence is not allowed to ride on the front today'. Definitely dodge a bullet there 💩💩
you could feel as misserable at home with way less effort. and i traveled (touring musican) sic and remember it very well.

Toxic water, poor hygiene, poor food prep. Everyone I know that went to India got real sick even while eating in hotels.
My wife went to India for business and ate every meal for 2 weeks in a 5 star hotel and then spent 2 weeks in hospital with food poisoning...
Bad dose of the Delhi Belly
i warned yall about the water and street food i hope you make it without Any further consequences
Guys Nepal next please
I don’t know how you guys can ride in that state at all.
This video is not brought to you by the Indian tourism board.

Your pals ask, "Hey, wanna ride bikes in India?" Your reply should always be, "F*@k NO!".

Get to restaurants and eat warm and cooked food.

So was the Lawrence's stool that day.
You guys have obviously not seen all the videos of Indian cooks using their toenails to slice and dice the food.
This is why I’ll never go to India. Literally everyone I know who’s been to India gets horribly sick.
uff i will never go to india
Please, stop eating fruits with your bare hands, wash them at least
I am not a fan of these videos. The podcast is way better
