I don't understand how it's possible to build a bass drive pedal without featuring a FREAKING BLEND KNOB !?!?!? It is the same as a car without the brake pedal.
I can't identify any situation where this FX pedal would find a home on my board other than for decoration. But, I can see this pedal having an important function in the various music styles other bassist play.
the expression shit going in sounds like shit going out comes to mind. This pedal is awesome if they are having problems with this they need to start from the beginning, fine your clean tone first, then plug a pedal in.
Can be great if you use it in a parallel saturation scenario where you can use your DI signal for the lower frequencies. Or running the Agro through a SansAmp maybe. I wouldn’t make it my main overdrive though.
Few days ago I’ve started to use it for a touch of saturation on a parallel channel with a compressor. The blend between comp+agro and clean goes into a bass driver (simulation). It has a nice ampeg-y vibe. I’ve used also as a stand-alone overdrive, but never on his own, always blended. To my ears it shifts the midrange too much while on to be used on its own...
Agreed. Needs a clean blend or separate clean level. Experimented for several hours over several days and could not find a usable tone that had thick low end. Presence control is unusable past 12 o'clock.
It's called a comment for a reason. If RUclips expected people to only say good things about people's videos then the comments section would be called the "praise section." Why are we not allowed to share negative opinions?
Pedal is added to my list of possibpe overdrives. If anyone knows other brands that offer overdrives id like to know. So far only pedal i own is an electro harmonics bass big muff pi fuzz pedal. Looking for an overdrive for that heavy sound like in muse and other bands that use it
Is there anyone that works there that plays metal or any kind of core music to demo distortions and heavy overdrive? Playing dumb funky riffs with overdrive sounds silly and unrealistic. Like come on, every bassist isn't into that style and we all don't only use fingers. Understand your audience is diverse please, also switch up basses so we get an idea of what our gear might sound like please.
Grindy and high end perfection!
love the doom metal vibe gives off
I just bought it! Thanks for the video.
Not my first choice for an overdrive...but it must have something good when Bon Jovi's Hugh McDonald uses it on tour.
Geddy Lee Tones in a Box!! Great pedal! If blended with a clean signal it solves the low end loss issue! ;)
and the contour knob...
Nice distortion and controls. Would take the Sansamp Para Driver v2 for these sounds though.

Eh. Not if you design it right. It shouldn't need it.
Is that not the "Saturation" knob?
@@jonsimpson6569 They call "Saturation" a Gain knob.
Contour knob...

This is like an overdrive?

between the agro and the darkglass b3k which would you recommend ? I'm on the fence.
i've found this pedal impossible to use without a clean blend, otherwise you'll have a total loss of low frequencies
Well, you can use an interfacer that allows you have a clean channel for a preamp and a fx channel for the agro, so you can have best of both worlds.

Sound alright though active bass
Your touch😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢
I don't get people, they'll see a video of something they don't like and comment, why watch it first place 😕
Like the pedal, not the "playing"
You can't really justify giving a bad review of a video if you haven't watched it...
It's called freedom speech

To give people an idea of what the product they’re getting is like.
What if i used this on guitar?
On paper it seems like it would be good, but in real life, it’s a bit underwhelming on guitar.
NOTHING beats DarkGlass!!
i dont think so
Sansamp
Fanboy detected (DG is cool tho)
110-150€ price difference does

punklyrics1 I recommend checking out Darkglass Electronics, their units deliver a drive tone unlike anything I have heard before.

Super sloppy playing. Hard to focus on the pedal when this sloppiness is going on in the background.
So sorry to disappoint. Hopefully you find another video with tighter playing.
Playing is top notch!
