My wife and I first met Dan around 1978 at a church in northern California. He was and still is a wonderful man and I love him like he was my own brother. We saw him several times and have always loved his music. We owned all of his albums but lost them somewhere along the way and I thought I would never hear him sing again. But then I searched for him online and was blessed to find him. Just Google Dan Whittemore. He has his own web site and we have reconnected again on Facebook. "The Trumpet Song" will always be my most loved of his songs.
I was a new Christian around the time that I met Dan. He was a humble guy, and very unpretentious. We had a Christian band at Church of Christ (not the non instrumental sect) and invited Dan to our fellowship and did a concert of his songs. I remember it well. My brother was playing drums and I remember Dan saying after a song to the audience how "he almost forgot what it was like having drums in a band and not hearing yourself." It was quite funny and everybody laughed. He was a humble man and I enjoyed him much. By the way, if you have any of his music I would love for you to post "Love that will remain." A beautiful song from such a rare talent and a guy that clearly loved the Lord.
Dan, this is one of your best songs!! I miss singing with you!

If u type his name into the search engine, it will take u to his web site, which has many of his songs as well as his paintings.

Dan Whittemore recorded many good Christian songs. In a music business filled with phonies, he was always the real deal.
