I wish I had the money for a dress and ticket - I would love to attend! The fact that so many people travelled so far to attend shows the attraction and dedication they have for dressing so beautifully! Good luck with your next event. I bet you caused a major stir in Bath - walking around en masse and showing the beautiful clothing - men as well! Absolutely gorgeous and I'm so happy that Prior Attire has such a pull that they are able to draw guests from around the world!
The video is wonderful. So many beautiful dresses and so many elegant gentlemen. Some year soon I will finally make it to the ball. Every year I wat to go and can't make it.
RUclips is full of dressmakers/costumers who teach hiw to make 1s own. There are websites of co.s that make repro desses--- under "Victorian (English Regency, etc. ) Dresses" ---Shopping section. Enjoy!!! Good luck !!!
This is absolutely splendid! To attend this and have the proper attire would be amazing and a dream come true, I love the Victorian age all the beautiful frocks and the dancing, be still my heart, the dancing! I want to do Edwardian ballroom dances at our 20 year vow renewals! This must be quite an experience!
I love the way you and Lucas look at each other. It's like watching a real life movie romance. 😍 It looked like a wonderful time was had by all, thank you for sharing!
What such a beautiful place ! And beautiful people. Hope someday, having a nice dress and dancing like this. I love 19th century so much ! Thank you for this video Prior 😍
How wonderful to be able to sort of "fully immerse" in such a period event, and to be able to share the experience with so many others...truly magical! And what lovely evening wear and accoutrements.
Thank you for sharing. I would have thoroughly enjoyed just sitting and watching all the beautiful gowns, dancing, etc. I have been watching some of your videos now and I'm happy I stumbled onto your channel. Very relaxing, educational and gorgeous dresses. I had to subscribe. Thank you so much for sharing your passion with the world.
Just grand, what a lovely way to salute those elegant times!! Your life is filled with delicious things!! Enjoy every minute,as I enjoy watching yours!!
Now that was fun to watch! You’ve got to be completely exhausted at the close of the event. So many different dresses! Mr. Marsden was indeed a good Director. Applause!
I LOVED every single thing of this ball, from the music to the majestic dresses, I'm sure you enjoyed it a lot. Greetings from México, hoping to be there one day 😍
That's so awesome that you got guests from all around the world!!! I noticed that some of the guests had Disney dresses on. That's so cool! When I get older, I hope I can travel there, buy a Victorian Era dress and join in the party. (I'm from New Zealand) This is literally a History buffs dream!
How beautiful! I would like to participate, but I am from Brazil and, probably, I will never be able to go. Congratulations on the beautiful event. I love Prior Attire. Kisses from Brazil.
Everyone looked so beautiful! I am subscribed to your channel- with notification bell, yet this video didn't show until now! Eveyone seemed to have a wonderful time!
"Polonaise" is what I've done for decades at Dickens Christmas Fair (in hoops, no less) for decades. We call it "Spanish Waltz" . Forward, back, turn the lady under.... It was a good one to get non dancers on the floor... I see one couple of ladies doing a Mazurka variation... And music from G&S! Dancing becomes a way of life... I'm so glad to have seen this! Thank you.
i really hope that one day i will have the means and time to make a dress like that!! they all looked so wonderful and it's lovely to see the diversity in styles. Greetings from Belgium!
Am I the only one who would love to do this... But has no idea how to dance like that and it too young? Edit: There is a ballroom dancing studio, but I'm not aloud to go since it is where old people hook up with each other...
I guess you have time to be a pro at dancing! RUclips has lots of classes in traditional ballroom dances that could help you learn these ones in the future
@@analisapena3086 that is a Mood. I wish I had Billy. I dance around at like 1 to 3 am downstairs in my house cuz then my family is asleep and can't judge me
Sigh . . . I wish I had the chance to go to a Victorian ball. They look like so much fun! I would wear a pink bustle dress with big roses and wine-colored bows cascading down the back. Of course, I would have a matching pink corset and pink ribbons on the rest of my underpinnings. Oh, and I would wear matching shoes too. ;)
@@analisapena3086 I'm turning 12 soon but your probably 15 by now ;~; I'm in the same shoes as you were. Have you gotten to go go a Victorian ball, they sound really cool! I would have to dance with my dad though haha. There is this one boy I know and we were good friends until corona, and I honestly have no idea if he is into victorian stuff like that and I wouldn't know how to contact him.. so yeah plan A it seems! I will do more research on balls, because we did have a ballroom dancing unit in 5th grade. Hope you are doing ok now!
Thank you so much for making these videos! My dream has been to make beautiful period attire and it's been strangely difficult to find clear and concise information about the making of items like these. But I've definitely got a lot of inspiration from your videos to keep trying! Thank you!
Considering that these people came from all over the world… that’s very few at the ball, but keep publicizing them so more people would be aware and more will look forward to them. The only thing I would change is to narrow down the period. Find a date in the 19th century that would’ve been celebrated at a certain year, certain date. Right now it’s all over the place and these seems to be no period guardians, all one needs to do is show up, and no matter how ridiculous the outfit, the organizers say “Good job!” as if participants were toddlers! I am glad to be living in San Francisco where the Dickens Faire is head and shoulders above this shindig.
Quick correction, at 2.11 where you're naming the countries, there is The Netherlands and Holland, however Holland is a part of The Netherlands, there are North Holland and South Holland and they are 2 of 12 provinces of The Netherlands 😊
I would love to be able to go to one of these events. I love to sew and loved the dresses and men's clothing. My only negative comment is how some of the ladies could have carried themselves better when they entered the assembly room. Some of them appeared to be walking just down the street, not the way they should have carried themselves in those kind of dresses, especially while wearing corsets.
some of them have never been to a ball, so coming in a dress then never worje before, to a big place they are not familiar with, probably a bit nervous or shy - first few dances are always a bit stilted, people relax after the third and move much better

Who else REALLY wants to go if they had the chance?
Just me?

That grey-red Harper's Bazar-dress in 1:00 is just the one I put on my to-sew-list a little while ago!
Great to see there where people both from Holland and from the Netherlands..
Great video though
So elegant and full of grace. Not saying people misbehaved less in that era, but they surely had much more style.
you do the most amazing work, i envy your skills!!
This is wonderful!
Such a cool event! Loved the dresses and ample enthusiasm with the dancing :D
I would love to be there! But I don't have a dress, and can't dance :(
If you look into it, this kind of dancing is far easier than the more modern freestyle stuff... you may be better than you think!
YOU ARE ME
I believe the clothing can be purchased, it just takes research to know what would be appropriate.
