I guess I didn't realize you had decided to hunker down, like our pal Steve would say.
I picked up on RUclips back when my health went south, your channel quickly became my favorite.
Your skills with the cameras and your tremendous storytelling skills, are only part of what makes your channel so special.
In my humble opinion, its your natural affinity to find wonder in every minute and every mile, and share it with thoughtful respect, of the wonderment of it all.
I wish you all the best.
    Thanks Slim.

If I’m reading that correctly it’s a bittersweet moment. Your content is one, maybe the only, of the few I watch that will be truly missed. But thank you for all the great times you shared and all the best in the future. Farewell Slim.
    Peace. Always.
EDIT P.S. I see now that Slim clarified in a comment that's it's only his last US road trip.
Huge sigh of relief and anticipation for more great Canadian road trips ...maybe even, dare we hope, off the continent content ? And more cottage projects maybe ?
Will still miss the Slim perspective on our neighbors' great country but happy the stories aren't done !

I’m truly heartbroken. It’s strange how someone I’ve never met could have such a profound impact on my life, but you did. Your videos were a constant source of comfort when my world was falling apart, when anxiety and depression felt like they were consuming everything. In those darkest moments, your voice, your presence, brought me peace. You’ve been with me, unknowingly, through some of the toughest times in my life, and now it feels like I’m losing a piece of that safety. Thank you for everything. You’ll never know how much you’ve meant to me, and so many others.
But as much as it saddens me, I’m happy that you’re moving forward with what’s best for you, Slim. You deserve every bit of peace and happiness, just as you’ve brought to all of us.

I've been watching the last several videos with growing anticipation, and I wasn't disappointed; this was a wonderful video. All the better since you had a companion to share the experience. I caught the last North American eclipse in a Kmart parking lot in Sumter, South Carolina, and fortunately didn't squander the experience by fussing with my camera too much. I trusted my aim and fired off shots remotely. But I didn't have your great time-lapse and did the trip solo. The coolest things were the birds and crickets and the lights coming on automatically.

We’re from the Toronto area. We ended up at Point Pelee Provincial Park (drove down at 3am) closer to Windsor and had a great time and saw a very good view of the eclipse. Could see it clearly, only a little very high very thin clouds. Can’t believe there were people who lived near the full eclipse line who didn’t even try to see it.
Went to mid Nebraska (Grand Island) for the 2017 one.
Add on: just finished watching your whole video. You really captured the full experience of seeing the total eclipse! Only thing I would have changed was showing the shot of the full eclipse a little longer. But overall, you nailed it! Thanks for sharing!!

This was really cool but I wish you had lingered longer on totality in your timelapse. I didn't see it but I have family who live just outside of Indianapolis and they literally watched the whole thing from their back yard patio. Talk about ideal ! It was perfectly clear skies. I'm sorry you drove all over the nation and ended back up in yours before settling on where to be. How nice you got to share the experience with a good friend.
I know someone who was going to make the journey from SoCal to TX to view it and he decided not to go because it was much more than likely to be overcast. But someone he knew who went said that it was cloudy right up until the actual event, then the sky cleared and everyone got to see it. The CA guy was absolutely devastated he missed it.

We had perfect clear skies and a fantastic view of the eclipse from our campsite in Compton Arkansas. Wish you would have joined us. Would have been a lot less driving.

Slim, glad that you got a clear sky, even though it was a lot of work/driving to get it. I was sick in February 1979 when we had one locally (Portland, Oregon area) so I was able to watch the cloudy sky get dark, and then light again - definitely not the experience I would have wanted. 2017 was much better - I took the day off from work, drove about 15 miles and watched from the parking lot of a shopping center - the wife and I pulled in just as someone was leaving a parking spot and watched it - and then jumped back into the car to avoid the traffic jam. That one was amazing, luckily in August when the skies were clear.
From your title, I am going to assume that your travels will be more in Canada now - or are you giving up camping?
