The instructions online usually tells you to run cmd as admin unlike the safemode version shown in the video. Using the former method I got the "cannot find room for the efi system partition". Solutions to this error involves a lot of complicated and kinda shady tools and I was thinking about just risking a clean install of Win11 on a new drive.
However, running cmd on safemode as shown in the video, the error didn't happen and I was able to convert and boot in UEFI mode!!

I have 2 hds on mbr and 1 on gpt , with this process itt will convert the other drive too or just the c and i will lose acess to the other drive?
I got to the bios and the top on the screen says sabertooth x58 bios setup version 1101. When I sent to the boot tab the options were "boot device priority" "hard disk drives" "boot settings configuration" and "security" I don't see a boot mode or anything like that. When I restarted my computer it doesn't fully restart. Please help

Thank you! Built my own PC years ago, wanted to upgrade to Windows 11 but I could not get my PC to meet the minimum requirements. Kept trying to enable secure boot or switch to UEFI but it wasn't working. This fixed it!

Replace the hard drive and re-install windows and recover your data from a recent backup. The hard drive is toast. But given Windows 11 requirements I would buy a whole new machine with 11th gen CPU in it. so your hard drive will cost about $2000 because of Windows 11!
You can do this. If you have more than 3 primary drives created in your machine you can back up the data on one drive and delete it. Since there is a precondition to have maximum 3 primary drives to do this conversion.
@@PWingert1966 what are you talking about lol if you are going to install windows 10 again you can download it in GPT mode 😂
@@kxrannn.g Don't you mean to convert or reformat the drive into GPYT mode? If this person is still using physical spinning rust I would recommend him to switch to an SSD anyways. reformatting a non-SSD to convert the format is not worth the effort. As long as you have a good backup then replacing the drives with an SSD is the best solution.

Help, I followed this and when it was restarting after enabling uefi mode its getting stuck in a loop saying start PXE over ipv4 then ipv6 and then starting auto recovery then restarts the process
You saved my time. After converting to GPT, my secure boot issue gone and added TPM config in RegEdit 100% working

Was trying to setup everything for Win 11 , changed my C drive to GPT, than i saw i have on D drive boot and on C is system, so i cannot use UEFI secure boot in bios, it almost broke my BIOS, would not load to windows at all, instead was going to BIOS in endless loop, barely able to fix later. What can i do?
System partition and boot partition is on different drives.

Every time I get to the command prompt it tells me to sign into the admin account and I do and it tells me the password is incorrect even though I have changed the password and know 100% that it’s correct

Unfortunately I get the mbr2gpt cannot find os partition error when attempting this which is a whole other issue I have to tackle. Why in the world did they make it so difficult to update.

Hi, I did everything as explained in the video for the "Secure Boot" but forgot to turn "Secure Boot State" off to on and when I started windows and checked the "PC Health Check" it says "This PC meets Windows 11 requirements" with secure boot off (as it says in System Information).
Now I don't know if I still have to turn it on or not.

Im also getting an around 20-30 more fps in games. This was the case before I installed the new SSD, no idea why it would impact performance so heavily but again thank you 👍

So unfortunately the convert process failed for it told me to do something manually but I'm not sure what, i tried it again and it told me the process failed without any reason and whrn i tried changing to uefi it changed but it doesn't let me enable the secure boot mode ( i can open the pc normally with uefi)

Thanks Brother. I followed the same steps but in my PC had 4 Primary partions. So had to backup data in one partion and remove it in order to do the conversion. Afterthat it worked and currently installing windows 11. Thank you brother. 😇
is your local disk d and e data is also deleted or not
@@itsmeajit4750 Yes. My local disk is C and I had D, E and F partitions. So in order to do the conversion I had backup to delete one partition (I deleted F). Conversion will not affect for any data.
After I select command promt, the pc restarts and needs me to enter my password, only problem is that my keyboard is disabled. I turned off the computer, booted into Windows, and the keyboard seemed to work fine. It works in the advanced boot menu, but doesn't in command prompt.
For some unknown reason, mine won't convert... I've tried everything! I don't even have the mbr2gpt.exe in system32 which means it's not in the system at all, and there's no information on how to get it....
After running the command I got “failed update ReAgent.xml please try to manually disable and reenable WinRE”. I tried to do this with reagentc /disable but it told me “reagentc is not recognised as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file” what do I do?

When i write and enter command at last it writen disk layout validation failed for disk 0 please give me solution
I disabled CSM in order to enable Secure Boot. Than my BIOS asked me to reset because CSM was loaded. I did that and managed to put Secure Boot on Standard and enable it.
After that, my PC wouldn’t boot and not give me access to BIOS anymore. I had to Clear the CMOS physically.
I understand that if I have a different partition mode Windows wouldn’t boot, but why did I lose access to BIOS?
Now I’m not confident on doing the process again and worried if do the MBRtoGPT my Windows won’t boot at all and I will get stuck.
Any advice?
My “secure boot state” in my bios is greyed out and stuck on disabled. Why the heck is it that way. I’ve been trying on and off for years now to upgrade and they is as close as I’ve gotten.

I ran into an issue after running [mbr2gpt.exe /convert] where command prompt said that it "Failed to update ReAgent.xml...". ReAgent is Windows Recovery Environment which allows you to troubleshoot the PC.
To fix this, follow this guide and after switching from legacy boot to UEFI, reboot the PC. Run command prompt as admin and run the command [reagentc /info]. This will tell you if reagent is enabled. If it says enabled you're all set! If it says that it is disabled try running [reagentc /enable] to enable it and follow up with [reagentc /info] to confirm. I hope this helps!

ERROR: MBR2GPT can only be used from the Windows Preinstallation Environment. Use /allowFullOS to override.

After doing the mbr2gpt stuff, i was not able to get to the bios or boot option, now I can't on my pc without getting some stuff I don't understand
i did all the steps, restarted my pc, i was booted into "reboot and select proper boot device or insert boot media" error
i panicked hard, tried rearranging boot order, resetting the bios, nothing worked, out of desperation i plugged in my windows boot drive that i had just in case things happened, "repair windows 10" "continue into windows 10" and it magically fixed lmao
gave me a heart attack but it fixed the secure boot error, thanks for the tutorial
