I was excited to see that you had reviewed this, not only because it isn't likely to get a great many video reviews, but equally because of your passion for Cultist Simulator. One thing I especially like about your essays is that while they are undoubtedly packed with the pertinent details, you also have an almost wistful, lyrical way of describing the way elements play out or how they affected you personally. It works fantastic in this review as well! Cheers, looking forward to your Elden Ring lore video.
This is insanely cool of you to say, thank you so much! Yeah wistful is sort of my whole vibe lmao. Thanks again, comments like this are the reason I do this stuff!
When i got to hush house it reminded me of castle i was in few years back, many rooms of many designs from plethora of eras, in this real castle some of the room are still hidden.
Hey you know that review is pretty good it's refreshing in a sense that it feels different. Simple in a way. Kinda nostalgic. It feels like something you are not used to do and it works to it's benefit. Well done mate!
Thanks so much! It was the first time I had the opportunity to do a review for the channel so it was a real learning experience! I’ll have more like it coming in the new year!
For me book of hours has everything that I enjoyed about Cultist Simulator, but without the constant threat and pressure to keep things running. cultist simulator isn't really a difficult game, but you do need to be paying attention to the spinning plates or you'll have to start all over again, which is especially frustrating when I get immersed into the occult goings on and by the time I feel like I'm making progress I'm caught by the authorities or lost myself in mania. That dynamic is a bit poetically resonant, but it's definitely not *fun* book of hours is far more cozy, there are ways to mess up but it's far easier to just relax and enjoy the writing and atmosphere
You’re so right - I talked a little bit about how Book of Hours vibe is gonna be what draws a lot of people in. I play Cultist Sim because it’s well written and addictive, I play BoH for all those reasons but it makes me feel nice too. Thanks for watching!
Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed it! It's a tough thing to judge because that's not something I would've considered a spoiler myself - without context it looks enough like Winter that I figured newcomers (those most likely to look for a review) wouldn't know the difference. I do mention in the description that the video is essentially 10+ minutes of assorted gameplay and recommend listening to it like a podcast if that might be an issue. Point taken though, I'll do better in the next one!
I really wish it ran better on my computer, I’m running it on a processor that’s like 1.3 hertz lower so I’m really impressed with how well they’ve optimized it. I’m obsessed with cultist simulator and book of hours so I’m definitely gonna buy a better computer so I can play this gem of a game

Yeah I definitely got that feeling of excavating the library the further I got into it too!

That’s such a shame! Definitely one to revisit once you get the right setup

Glad you enjoyed it, thanks!
The audio volume of this video is very low.
Cheers, I’ll make sure the next one is cranked up a little 👌
