hii, I'm melon and I'm reacting to dragon ball z abridged for the first time. This is my DBZ abridged episode 20 reaction. DBZ was my first anime and holds and special place in my heart:) I already really love this abridged series and am so excited to go on my DBZ abridged reaction journey.

I feel like TFS just became HETAP at some point.
It goes by a bit quickly, but the reason Recoome is so damaged at the end is because Krillin punches his mouth shut to interrupt the Eraser Gun attack, which makes the beam explode inside his mouth and destroy his teeth.
the joke about spacey's is that not only raditz the saiyan form of currency, he's also their dollar bill drawing a correlation to both him being weak and his low power level but also the fact he's the dollar menu option, so many layers to that joke

There are literally 2 layers to that joke. It's calling him weak by putting him as only a dollar in value.

I love how recoome acts like a wrestler , as well as the space equivalent of earth products .
This episode is all about Recoome and I'm here for it. He's my favorite Ginyu member. Team Four Star really played up his wrestling personality.

Recoome, much like Nappa, was so unfathomably devastating in DBZ - rekt our heroes before Deus Ex Goku showed up and really showed the power gap between the Z fighters and the current enemies!
Their use of the "I am a real American" song was such a good choice with the Hulk Hogan thing at WrestleMania. I forget which one, but it must have been close to when they made this episode. Perfectly fits the wrestling vibe.
As an Aussie, this episode's post credit charity call always touches my heart. Love the DBZA, and happy to say this is around the time I think they really hit their stride and it just gets better and better

In the DBZ TFS-verse Raditz is so weak they use his name as the lowest denominator currency.

Yaaaay, another Melon reaction! This is one of my favourite episodes of DBZ Abridged. The series feels really rounded at this point and not only is the voice acting great, but the editing is on par and the jokes fly fast. Looking forward to your next reaction, as you're clearly loving it too!

Reecome was actually being hurt by those attacks, but as....weird as he is... the man was an absoliute tank
This is still my favorite Goku entrance in the entire franchise and the hulk hogan theme is the icing on the cake.

2:01 I feel like this is the exact face I and like 90% of DBZA fans made when we first heard this music and understood how awesome this scene was about to be. Just absolutely rad. TFS rekindled my love for Dragon Ball in a big way.
Random trivia that I just looked up now, it looks like Bruce took over scoring for DBZ around ep 67/68. Which is actually just a few episodes after this one. So at this point in the show there was no Bruce Falconer music, except in the Lord Slug american release. So no, no Bruce Falconer score. That comes later
It looks like 67 is the episode where Jheese and Butter attack Goku, and 68 is when Ginyu first shows up. So it's actually kinda funny you mention it 'cuz he's literally just about to start. Jabroni is a wrestling term. It refers to a wrestler whose primary role is to lose in order to make other wrestlers look good.

Being from Australia myself, I feel that it's relevant for me to point out that not only are XXXX and Victorian Bitter actual Australian beers, but Jeice promoting XXXX specifically over VB would fit into his character as being from 'Space Brisbane' as XXXX is a beer that is made and distributed locally in the state of Queensland (of which Brisbane is the Capital City)... and yes, it does taste a lot better than VB!
So kudos on TFS (specifically Jeices VA) on doing their research on this 👏

This is a very wrestling heavy episode, Recoome behaving like stereotypical wrestlers from the '80s. Very loud, very over the top like Hulk Hogan and Macho man. Jabroni is basically someone who's foolish, it was popularly used by Dwayne The Rock Johnson. They also use words like "Sell". Which in wrestling means to make something look believable. If I get hit and I react to it I have sold it. If I don't react it is called No selling

I've noticed certain other people suggesting you use Canadian subtitles. Please don't. They're amazing on a second watch-through, but they ruin all the jokes and are really distracting for a first watch.
I mentioned it in previous videos. I found them very distracting so I turned them off when I first tried to watch with them. But I also heard they spoil jokes so I will not be using them
