Nikki, I'm saying this with the most love and care for you: The "sweetest person" doesn't prioritize their friends over their significant other. The "sweetest person" doesn't just go cold turkey with someone especially when they are FULLY AWARE that person is going through a difficult time. The "sweetest person" wouldn't let their significant other feel out of place. Someone who is sweet and caring would put you first because they care about you. They would reach out to you because they want to. They would make an effort to help you feel comfortable because they care. This guy definitely does not deserve to be called the "sweetest" and does not need excuses to be made for him. He is a grown man who is incapable of handling a mature relationship. It's a shame he was blind and didn't realize the gem of a person you are RIGHT THERE IN FRONT OF HIM. He took you for granted. You deserve more than that. You are worth more than that. Sweet girl, you focus on you. I used to work at a coffee shop that group of ‘friends’ would frequent when they were in flight school and the tea is they were ALL chatting it up with VERY young girls. Teddy was always wonderful to the staff and never caused problems BUT I always was weary of the people he surrounded himself with. Moral of the story, the universe has a way of protecting you sometimes.

My husband is an Air Force pilot and I cannot imagine trying to integrate myself into that life if my husband didn’t try his absolute hardest to fit me in and prioritize including me in his time off. It’s a very difficult group to infiltrate on your own. I completely understand where you’re coming from in that regard!! My husband was K9 in the Air Force and now is on the SWAT team for a Sheriff's department as well as the Air guard. The time thing is so hard. It needs to be intentional or else it falls apart pretty quickly.

I wouldn't take it that way, I am in a relationship with someone whose time is rare due to their job and it is really hard on their side to make it good for everyone. If you spend your rare time with only one person, someone else is always offended so you want to make it right for everyone.
My bf often has to argue with others if he spends time with me because everyone wants to see him and nobody is interested that the day has only 24h.
I manage to give him freedom and I understand his struggle but it was definetely a hot topic the first years of our relationship.
And not everybody wants to put the energy into this and that's absolutely understandable and ok.

The best advice about relationships I ever got was from my own blind frustration: Stop looking for a life that you fit into, and make space in your life for anyone to come in to it. It came from how utterly awful I felt after trying SO hard to jam myself into someone’s already established life in a place I knew not a single soul.
I’d spent so long trying to mould my life into something for someone else and it always ended up with me feeling like I never had anything for myself. It was when I stopped trying to fit, and started to create the spaces in my own life that I wanted to share with someone else that things clicked. You start looking for people in the places you want to meet them instead of going with what you think should fit or work.

It's never easy going through big life changes, it doesn't help that everything kind of happened at once. I think you and Teddy are both absolutely amazing human beings, but at the end of the day, sometimes things just don't work out and or you just aren't the right people for each other, thats ok! It must’ve been super hard that the person you were sharing life with left during such a hard time and cold Turkey at that. I am so sorry you’re going through that, no one deserves that. Depression is a real thing…not easy to just up and go hang out with new people.I hope you find someone who truly loves you and values you💖

Girl it is trippy how similar breakup situations we are going through. Watching your stories and posts with Max have had to be some of the most wholesome parts of the internet for the last several years I have followed you. No one can deny you didn't give that boy the best kitty life he could have asked for, and then some. My heart goes out to you so much. Like I said, also very eerily similar breakup situation we went through. Trying to force something that just wasn't meant to be. All love for him, just not a great fit. Maybe it's a pisces things but I was def the one in the relationship trying to latch on and not ready to let them go meanwhile my partner was like yeah....we gotta end this. Even though I had been aware of all the differences and incompatibility being faced with rejection/abandonment was devastating. I know I'm just a stranger on the internet but I can't help but feel very connected to you in this moment and the hurt you are going through.
