Hey Tony it’s a shame people treat our vehicles bad. I’m a turo host with 11 cars and there is always 1 car down each month, for damages. People just don’t care and the worse part they deny and try to hind the incident.

I like where you're going with this, but unfortunately, that's not how SnapSheet works... They don't go off the highest estimate you can find. They come up with their own estimates. Tony knows this, but SnapSheet is the company that Turo uses to determine payouts for damage and mechanical claims.
Also, most of the dealerships (that I know of in the Atlanta area), don't deal with collision damage, just mechanical. YMMV

Anything over 70% over the current value they usually total it, but being it Turo they company they use under estimate.
I bought a 2016 Bentley flying spur that was auctioned off due to damaged bumper, damaged air suspension which turn out to be a leak. Nothing was wrong with frame and, or major components. It was totaled due to they claimed was going to be 52k to repair as they got quote from dealer. I repaired everything on that car for a little over 23k with OEM parts, drove it for a year and then sold it. Would have kept it but parts are definitely expensive like a windshield was 7.5k by itself and not including labor which is 9k alone. A master technician but not going to pay 1000’s for parts as can only imagine when it comes to the extensive maintenance. People complain about BMW, or Mercedes, but Bentley parts are as expensive as a Ferrari. No wonder insurance companies total them out on minor repairs.
Certain trim levels just shouldn’t be rental cars. I understand what you’re trying to do…it’s a reason the major rental spots don’t do it.
You should put a hidden camera in your car. Have them sign a contract that says that you have the right to monitor. This way you have footage of what’s going on.
Those types of vehicles invite youngsters to speed…. That’s what them type of vehicles are known for, youngsters rent or buy them for the experience of speed. I rent all SUV’s equinox, escape and renegade most of them are four cylinders and they do well.

I been with Turo for about 2 years as a side business, as of now I have about 8 cars in my fleet, this is the reason why I don't have any sport cars in my fleet, Camry and Sonatas and Odyssey are my money maker, my renters are usually family from out of state. But keep on griding brother! There will always be some bad apples but, It's part of the business.
Yeah, I wouldn't rent to those types of accounts. I would only rent them out to customers with a positive history in the app.
When your whole business is based on credit , you have to take every dollar that you can get.
@@Addias342 Yeah but that doesn't mean he can't protect his assets & use discretion to who he lends to. So yeah he should treat his most prized vehicles just how a credit company or bank would do anyone when they come asking for a loan.
Maybe set act restrictions with these cars and collect deposits upfront if not renting through Turo. Also insert remote k-switches to turn off a car after you catch a customer driving recklessly. A friend of mine that manages a car rental spot does this.

It’s called Bouncie, it’s awesome af! Tracks and alerts the vehicles every move updated I think like every 15 seconds.
Sadly, it works so well I was alerted instantly when my turo vehicle was wrecked. It sent me an urgent alert your vehicle has been impacted! Turns out the guy was speeding and crashed it just like Tony’s renter

Yes Turo pays me to get the car fixed and then goes after the customer!
Anything with that horse power asking for trouble as people likely rent them to test performance, or track them. The issue is most people are not use to driving rear wheel high performance sports car and the require maintenance before and after racing that require to ensure it be up to task and to repair damages afterwards. I use to professionally race and a master technician, I actually rented a hellcat a while back with full intentions to track it as wanted to put one though it paces and found a exotic rental company that would allow you to use for private track, so long you pay for the maintenance and damages and pay the extra for them to change fluids and check over car and then paid for the required maintenance and new tires afterwards. Honestly was considering buying one but came to senses after getting a few insurance quotes and when with a different car due to high insurance way more then even a high end luxury car and when with a still high performance luxury car instead. The Hell cat definitely nice to play with but not practical as a daily.
If you want to race there are exotic rental companies for that, so long you’re honest and pay the extra. Don’t abuse someone else car that trying to make a living. Plus good way to get ban from renting again and being liable for damages. Plus you sure not be racing on the highway, or streets to begin with.

This will be a consistent problem as long as you continue to rent these types of vehicles. It’s not an IF it’s a WHEN. I’d dump it for an suv that would rent for a similar value. this reminds me of those infamous hertz rental convertible mustangs I guarantee your challenger has been beat on at multiple car meets.

If you don’t mind me asking how much do they charge you for insurance on your scat pack using it as a rental car? Hell if I did that they probably charge me 10,000 dollars for the year.
Everything is done through Turo, I have personal insurance for the vehicle but it's not that much since I'm older, have a multi policy, and multiple cars!

Why not just set your sports cars or more valued ones, for only people with like a certain amount of reviews and trips so you have a better understanding and prediction on who you can rent out too with more confidence?

@@TonyLuxuryCars If you hardwire the dash cams into each cars ignition, it will be harder for a customer to tamper with it.
It's not even worth using a vehicle these days for any kind of purpose if the drives aren't being recorded. When things go south, you need to have definitive evidence of what happened.
I've looked at some of the cars you've picked up on your channel. Assuming some of those higher mileage vehicles are mostly highway miles, you have some really nice stuff in your fleet. One of my producers is interested in the newer Challengers, and it seems like a really nice car. If you lose your property in retarded ways like whatever they ended up doing to cause an accident in that vehicle, at least if you have footage you can have some type of reference for what happened. You will have to look into dash cams that can record into high capacity SD cards if you decide to do it, because depending on how the dash cam records in terms of file size you may only get a few hours worth of recording before it starts to overwrite older logs.

If you're doing this, then eventually, everything that's happening with him will eventually happen to you. Watching him helps us consider how we should handle it when it happens to us.
And trust me, MOST of what happened to his cars have happened to mine on some level or another. I had a car shot up, guest not return cars, guest wrecked cars, 100+mph, etc... and we don't even have muscle cars!!! These folks be flying in our 4 cylinder cars! 😂
