I think Black Cats is one of the most if not the most badass mission in COD history, maybe that's just me because WAW was my first cod and nostalgia is strong.
@@definitelynotjames dude he sucked at that part too. He waited until he was actually on top of the ships to drop the bombs even though the light had been green for like a minute before
@@WittyOriginalUsernameThe light only meant that the ship was leveled, not that he was on target. Then again, I doubt BR1's complexity wasn't more than "lead your shots, but only when they're far away".
COD WaW's Black Cats mission is unbeatable in badassery. The music and the sounds of the boats sinking and the turrets all harmonize together and it makes it even more immersive. The part where Locke survives an explosion to the face and just shakes his head and dusts himself off and proceeds to save several men is sick as hell
I love how CoD United Offensive really work on the detail. The BF probably G variant (with 20mm Cannon sound). Best plane stationary level i've ever played
That mission had a damn lot of historical flaws including the Bf-109 (I guess it was suposed to look like G but it did not have any wing mounted guns, only external gun pods), but whatever. Back in the days I loved this mission even though I knew about the mistakes.
Well i don't know about everybody else but I'd say the first mission on the list makes a pretty good case for the B-17 Bomber Crew DLC everybody seems to want.
AAAA Roads to victory might just be my favourite cod tbh. I've spent hours on the lucky 13 mission alone. Never finished the game though, Canada's missions were too hard for me apparently.
its hard but its not impossible i got to finish the game but my psp broke now i cant play it anymore roads to victory is the first cod i ever played and it still has the best campaign for me
The B-24 Liberator mission was and will always be my favorite. Too bad it was an OG xbox game otherwise I'd always play it. Also I found one inaccuracy with the first mission. The guy at the beginning says these are C-model B-17s, but the B-17C didn't have a tail gunner
Afg I am really enjoying these cod evolution videos So one question what is your favorite mission out of all of these in the video Black cats is my favorite Because of the music and the setting and the aircraft you fly in
I find it funny how all misions except the last one are from the point of view of the bomber with escorts and in the last one you are the escort, probably the bigest twist on a cod game
1:05:59 nobody going to talk about how that 109 literally smacked that P47 with it's wing like 8 times before exploding, and the Jug flew out like nothing happened? Okay...
"That'll do, boys, steady on. We're coming up on target, keep your channels clear-" "MESSERSCHMITSS! ELEVEN O'CLOCK HIGH! GUNNERS OPEN FIRE!" God I love the first CoD, so many great lines by nameless characters. By the way the track that plays on that mission is called 'Frantic' :)
calliberjoe no cod ww2 was just plain lazy they didn't even bother programming recoil in guns not even in an update and if you're saying that cod IW also doesn't have recoil cause it's set in the future and in space with futuristic space guns or something.
Well it's soo bad but it's still the best because it's the only dogfight in ww2 era in any cod, IW had some awesome aerial battles too. IW campaigns are what we need in the future.
Nah I disagree. The whole mission is just stupid. Why do the p-47s have bombs on the wingtips and turn fighting 109s? Why were they escorting bombers? The p-51 was well in use at the time. And not to mention stuka sirens on the 109s
Correct if I'm wrong but I remember in liberators mission there was some 2 or 3 Fw 190 planes , they were so hard to destroy... They spawn when you get the tail gun.
Call of Duty World War II the plane mission never never really gave me that an easy feeling except for the time or shooting stukas and then I blew up on of their engines I blew up the second one and it went down and all I could hear was Mayday made it will going down right before it exploded then Reloaded the checkpoint just to shoot at them but all in all I like the way you can actually support your friendly p-47 in sticky situation kind of like infinite Warfare

Let’s see…an RAF B-17 gunner slaughters the Luftwaffe, a USN PBY-5 crewman guts the IJN, a USAAF B-24 bombardier slaughters the Luftwaffe and Kriegsmarine and a USAAF P-47 whacks the Luftwaffe on escort mission. Such heroism really merits the Victoria Cross and Medal of Honor at least in video games.
why do the p-47s have bombs under the wings while escorting bombers? would hinder movement in a dogfight and also produce more drag making it less likely to get to Germany and back
@@jzimmerman284 those are not drop tanks they are bombs, Aircraft escorting Bombers would not then go and provide close air support and if they were drop tanks they would have been dropped before engaging, having drop tanks while dogfighting again would hinder movement and produce drag two things you dont want in a dogfight
@@comeatmebro3229 I'm late but maybe the planes were just posted on an nearby airbase and were radio'ed to escort the bombers, and since they were already airborne they did not go back to get ready for launch again. @@mafia_boss_neto thats not how air missions worked in WW2, especially not for dedicated escort, dedicated escorts sole job was to protect the bombers they were not armed for CAS duties. also an escorting squadren would never leave its bombers under any circumstances (Unless low on fuel) and to fly escort while carrying bombs is basically suicide, speed and manuverability would have been that poor that they would have been easy targets for 109s and 190s
@@comeatmebro3229 In ideal conditions? Yes. They will have a specialised escort. In the chaos of frontlines? No, they will have to adapt. By what I saw the context is that the local CAS Squadron had to escort the Bomber formation. Radio comes in: Bomber Squadron is in risk of meeting the Luftwaffe and their Escort has ran out of fuel and returned base. CAS Squadron is already on the air, flying, fueled, and has ammo. Leader says, "Control, this is Squadron [Name], we will escort them." Hence why when our character in COD WWII asks for CAS the command tells them they are busy with escort. Bombers arrive at their target position, no more enemy fighters spotted. CAS goes back to their original mission. Not all bombs can kill that much of a plane's capabilities. Sure, a 1,000kg bomb like the one a Stuka model R-2 carries, it is heavy. But say they are carrying 2x 50kg bombs? It's not that much of a drawback. Many vehicles (Tanks, for example) are not fitted to fight certain enemies. But when your allies say they need help, you will help. That's what good friends do for their allies. Hell, I could easily see an German Panzer Commandant in a Panzer 1, only armed with 2 machineguns, giving orders for the driver to distract a Sherman Firefly so Infantry can retreat - At least, if you die, you've saved lives.
