This is great guys! I did the Delta Ditch Run this year and wish I had time to explore like you folks are doing! BTW, San Pablo Bay can be quite an experience coming back south as you have a relatively narrow channel to work with because of depth and because of prevailing wind and waves you're in a lee shore situation until you clear the Richmond bridge. I know that the hard way... the Sunday after the DDR, we hit San Pablo Bay during a Small Craft Advisory. Winds were gusting 40+ knots, waves were super high. Storm coming in from the north as well. Was in bad shape because the weather changed so quickly and was starting to get really cold from the spray and wind. Fortunately made it back to safer weather before anything serious occurred.
Thanks for the comments John and the advice! We hit it just right that day and had a good ol' time bobbing around out there in the San Pablo Bay. Earlier in the video we spoke of just that scenario but some friends had given us a heads up. Glad you didn't have anything too bad happen on your sail through. Doesn't sound like fun! Thanks again for the comment and for subscribing!
At 5:00, Suisun Bay is pronounced 'Sis-Soon' Bay. Suisun is Sis Soon. Great video ! Love that boat. And i would love to talk my wife into a boat. We live 15 minutes from Old Town Sac where I sometimes kayak at night
As always guys, very entertaining and informative. Ruby is getting a great education and we can see that you guys are loving every minute of the family journey. Sound quality is fabulous on my desk top and picture clarity is perfect. Keep on posting your adventures - love them. Regards Kim & Clive Australia
Definitely a sea family. When will you be competing in the America's Cup guys - lol. Both very talented craftspeople - wish I could do more than tell people what I want Grrrr. Keep the vids coming guys, we really enjoy them. Cheers Kim & Clive
Thanks Clive! Ha! The America's Cup is a bit out of our range...unless you're funding it! Hey, we WERE just talking about a family effort for the Transpac in a few years though. You're from a racing family, right? Can we sign you up for the crew list? Ha, thanks for the support Clive & Kim. Miss you both!
I know right?! San Francisco is an amazing place to sail when it comes to steady wind but I can't say we don't long for the warmer weather. One day we'll be there, then we'll wish it wasn't 90 degrees every day! Lol!
Loved the video guys! Awesome editing! what kind of bridge is it that raised straight up and down instead of splitting in the middle like a traditional drawbridge?
Thanks Spencer. That's a Vertical-Lift Bridge. We passed through a lot of different types of bridges, some that swing around, some that raise in the middle and others like this that raise straight up and down. You see a lot of these lift bridges used for train tracks because they can be built to support a lot more weight than the ones that split in the middle. The ones that split in the middle take a lot more counter balance to lift so they're often not built with as heavy of a material as these. This one is named the Helen Madere Memorial Bridge after a former politician from a nearby town of Rio Vista. I think most peeps just call it the Rio Vista Bridge. That's what we called it when we asked them to raise it on the VHF. Hey thanks for the compliment on the editing. Should smooth out eventually. Much of this footage was shot before I had edited much and we're learning how to get the shots we need better while filming to try and reduce the amount of chopping we have to do during the editing stage.

Sure can, I can be your international crew member - or stone aged crew member - either way you can count me in.
Lovely weather! Nice to see you without thick coats and hats!
