Unrelated: I’m interested in almost every career path. I used the back tracking method to see how people in top positions got there and it’s really helpful

I want to help student athletes beyond sports and help them with their careers and even assist them with NIL deals as well. I currently serve as a job coach for those with intellectual disabilities. I am interested in getting my masters degree, but not sure which degree I should get.

I am currently active duty Air Force and will not retire until around 2030., I will complete my Bachelor's degree in December 2024 and continuing with my Master's degree in Sports Management, and need to pick one of three focuses (Interscholastic Leadership, Coaching, Sports Sales and Marketing). I am leaning towards sales and marketing due to interests throughout the courses I have taken, but I do not have much opportunity for internships while still on active duty. I am hoping that the Masters degree will somewhat substitute for experience level when applying for jobs, but I am unsure. What is a good way to gain experience after I complete my degrees before I retire, and eventually separate from the military? I want to prepare and set myself up in the best possible way.

Hi! My name is Brian. Im currently a student at Delaware State University as well as an intern working in events and operations at DE Turf sports complex here in Delaware. I graduate in May and have aspirations to become an athletic director at the high school level but I'm not sure of what the career path looks like. Could you share any advice if you have any to offer? Or if you know any positions I could get started in to work towards my dream career. Thank you very much for your time & great video!

At the high school level, frequently you would need to start as a teacher/coach and work your way up as very few high schools allow for total specialization in one role such as an AD. It is frequently something they do in addition to serving as a teacher and work their way up with interest while serving as a coach for a sport or two.

    Hey
Am planning to study sports management for a bachelor. Should I choose university or spend less and choose a college?

Since I don't know your personal financial situation, I can't necessarily speak to that. What I will say is make sure where you are going has plenty of opportunities to gain the experience you need in sports while attending because that is such a leg up once you graduate.

I think it would depend on the other skills/desires you have. Off the top of my head (outside of player and coach of course): athletic trainers, facility/event management, equipment.

For in work, it's a lot of catching up on things that got put off in the intensity of a season. In terms of finding a job, it's the best time for you to try outreach to potential employers as they will have more time (save for vacations) to spare for prospective candidates.
