Great question! From my experience, it’s better to offer both. Private pay will allow you to control the pricing, whereas with payment of Medicaid you won’t be able to control it.
How much is Medicaid paying in Arizona right now? For each level of patient and in both private and shared room? I can’t find the fee for service rates anywhere. Thanks
Good subject Serg, here in Georgia all the systems are geared towards Medicaid. With Medicaid you won't be able to hire caregivers. I know everyone has heard of caregiver burnout. No one realizes how much work is involved with the operational side of the business.
@@serg_lupescu You can hire CNA's, personally train someone that has a CPR, first aid and TB test or the owner, operator can be their own care givers. This seems to be what the state is pushing for, even the VA Adoption program. The rate is $2800 from Medicaid and $3,200 from the VA.
Thank you for sharing! That's not too bad though. It's good that you're getting all that figured out. Each state to their own, and some states are more business friendly then others.
Mae House the asl facility I worked for in Georgia could not hire CNA’s as they are not allowed to give medication. Maybe ours was different I’m not sure
Am in MN. The pricing is a bit different. Here we have base for room which can run from 500-1100 for room. There is a base for care per day, which include the basics like food, light,ECT and care leve( hands on ,behavior, medical need) which can run from 300 -550 per day. . That mean a client pay like 900 for room + 10k-15k( which is most pay for by insurance, MA ECT). Very few is private pay.
Private is how you make money, going with government assistance it will be difficult to run a business let alone make money. You can get some private rooms up to 7-8k a month if you provide a premium home, care and service
I'm currently working in assisted living my first two years it was a mental health facility now I'm working with children with severe disabilities where my heart is is providing a fresh start for felons coming out of prison
Serg In our state, Genworth reported that the median for Assisted living cost is around $4300.00 should i charge in the vicinity of that amount? How did you get the $3600? Also, would be nice to see your resident assessment form. Thanks
Serge, do you (or can you) have any residents that will pay you both from Medicaid and their private funds (or family), or is it usually one or the other? Thanks
Hello ,, thank you for your guidance regarding this business, I am going to be RPN pretty soon and I live in Canada ,, my goal is to start this business in this coming year , would you please guide me
Depending on the regulations in your state. In Arizona you could be your own medical personnel but you can’t do things that are medical with a non-medical license.
Hey Serg, I got a question. Im aiming to target the Intermediate care facility catering patients with intellectual and development disabilities cause I believe if you’ve given a contract from a government they will fund the patients staying-in your facility. Is that a different process or same as what you did?
Can I open a assisted living in Cleveland Ohio, because here in Ohio they called it nursing homes. So I did it training to open up a RCF. so my question is can I open up a assisted living home without having a nursing home or how does it go I'm a bit confused
Yes, you open up a residential assisted living home. You would be zoned under residental regulations. You would also get licensed for residential as well. First you’ll need to go through zoning before you go and get licensed.
Did you work in the field before you opened your first assisted living facility. I have a peace of Realestate that I would like to turn into an assisted living but My skills are in a different industry. Also what classes do I need to take to prepare myself .
I worked as a cna in the hospital and went to nursing school. Depending on the state that you’re in and what their requirements are but for the most part you’ll probably want to just get your administrator or managers license to operate an assisted living home.
Hi, thank you for great information. I would like to open a home care agency in Canada. Can you provide a video please?? I’m just a beginner I don’t have any idea where to start? Thank you
My pleasure! Canada is somewhere I am not at familiar with so I can’t really provide a video for that. The concept of getting started is the same though. I’ll be releasing the program this Thursday that explains the concept and how to get started.
I’ve been doing a bunch of research for ON (not sure where you are). It’s very similar to what is being described through his videos. Running a business in Canada is different than the US and running a seniors home is a lot less complicated due to our healthcare system. The only thing we really need to be aware of is the self employment and incorporation/business tax as well as someone coming in once a year to check up on the place.
serg.I took the course with gene it cost me 1,500.00.Now to join there package deals they are 15,000.00 and 40,000 that is alot of money. But they do have all legal paper from start to finish.Do you have a package deal with all the legal paper work we can buy off of you.
Hey man, Thanks for reaching out and asking! That is a lot of money. Where are you located? I am currently in the process of working on getting on all that legal paper work in place for people like yourselves that would be a lot more affordable! I plan to have it launched in about a month or so. Make sure to stay tuned for when I launch everything.
Good Morning Serg, I was planning on starting out this coming fall with renting a room, possibly two from the home I currently reside in. Was hoping you could give me some advise on how to get this process started especially from the legal end of things. If you could give me a call at your earliest convenience, or if you prefer to email me, it would be much appreciated. Thank you in advance, Rich
Otto Franz you’re so welcome! I actually didn’t do that at all and don’t recommend it at all. I’ll be launching my own training course on August 15th for cheaper and with way more value in my opinion. If you can be patient until then hopefully you become one of my students. I’ll be providing 9 free consultation calls with the purchase of my program. Also, if you’re one of the first 60 people to purchase you’ll get a free ticket to my event in November. :)
@@serg_lupescu thank you, yes, I would probably like that. Could you please let me know your email address, I would have some questions then. Thank you!

Have you ever done this where you take a senior that was too hard for the money and then later realized you made a mistake. And if yes what did you do. I’m guessing you can’t just kick them out ?
Do you think it’s better to offer private pay or payment with Medicare/Medicaid?
Great question! From my experience, it’s better to offer both. Private pay will allow you to control the pricing, whereas with payment of Medicaid you won’t be able to control it.

Agreed. That's very interesting! Sounds like thing in Georgia limits what you can really do. Who are you allowed to hire to do the caregiving?

As far as food service goes do you have to have health inspections? Did covid change anything?
No, there are no health inspections for the food services, and nothing changed because of Covid in regards to food services.
How do you get Medicad approved?

You can definitely use that as your baseline, and go up or down depending on the families budget. Also, what the level of care the resident needs.
Serge, do you (or can you) have any residents that will pay you both from Medicaid and their private funds (or family), or is it usually one or the other? Thanks
Yeah you can do both, depends on the state that you’re in. All comes down to what the family can do!

Is the $3600 per bed if semi private room, or is that for a private room?
$3600 for a private room.
Can you charge more if you are a registered nurse who can perform medical care?
You will be getting licensed as non-medical. Therefore you will not be performing any medical care.

Go and do exam of the patient where ?
You would go and do an assessment of the resident from where they're coming from. It could be at rehab, hospital, their own personal residences.
