Mikey is sooo much more relaxed infront of the camera than in the beginning he looked so serious and uncomfortable! No he is excellent! Good work Mikey!! 100% credit for you!!
“… Very small, that’s maybe why you like it…”😂😂😂 the way Ian slides that in there is equally savage as it is class. It’d be like seeing Big Foot in a three piece suit.
Just got fitted at Club Champion in Hillington/ Glasgow. Great set up. Was convinced I would get A.I. Smoke as I’m normally Callaway. Ended up with QI10 LS with Ventise Red. Can’t wait to get it and take it on the course
I used to pick on Mikey for being goofy, and honestly I missed Mattie, but Mikey is really stepping up and coming into his own as a host of the show. He should be proud of himself! #MikeyThePro
I think that LS could be quite the combo up at 10-10.5* at Ian's speed. Was a bit disappointed they didn't crank up the 9* head just to see flight conditions, but I do understand he hates a closed face and will be testing the 10.5* head at a later date.
Reminds me of the SLDR Loft Up issue. That driver was too low spin for so many players, so you had to add static loft to make it work. As for the Max models, I agree with Mike. I fit a lot of low ballspeed players and really enjoy having those Max options for these players. If ballspeed is higher, standard or LS models are the better option most of the time, but the slower ballspeed players really benefit from the higher MOI, easier to launch models.
Compelling viewing - great review. Fascinated to watch the look of genuine concern when Ian put a good swing on the LS, only to see it fall out of the sky low left. At least you had the benefit of GC Quad to confirm it wasn’t the swing, but the club not behaving as expected. For myself, I default to swing fault and go down the rabbit hole of trying to manufacture a swing that works. To quote Ian, “.. if you’re going to manufacture those launch conditions - good luck with your driving stats!” - great job 😊
I always appreciate Ian's honesty when doing these... good or bad. Can't wait to hit it and compare, but I don't like the chunky, big look of drivers and liked it when they went to the 440-450 cc size heads.
Loving the driver review videos and very excited for the upcoming bracket series. Wanted to request that you include the TSR3 in the brackets again, given Titleist aren't releasing a new driver and it was last year's champ :)
Awesome review. Love the honest and blunt opinions about the driver. Helps customers make an informed decision about what they are looking for. Thank you
I appreciate the review by Ian. $630 for the Qi10 is not an option for me personally. I found the Stealth Plus V1 12 months ago for $244 used and that's where I will stay. I am waiting to see if Qi10 wins any tournaments this year.
I have the maverick sub zero, the good is very good the bad is very bad 😂 going to try these out next month, looking forward to trying the standard Qi10 👍
I agree wholly with the point that better MOI/more forgiving drivers are not substitutes for proper fittings/lessons. I got fit for a Mavrik SZ in 2020, hit it far, but grew frustrated with mishits being out of play. I traded it in for a G425 Max off the rack that was “the most forgiving driver ever” but soon realized I still couldn’t hit it straight and was not hitting it as far. Finally got a fitting and loved TSR3 then got a lesson once I struggled and have been hitting it much better for over a year
I think whether its is MAX 10k or Qi10 Max, lots of golfers will buy them as a ready made solution for bad driving. Then come to find out that there are some fairly significant trade offs being made. Do it once, do it right, go get fit!!!
I would LOVE to see your opinion comparing these new ones against the "old but gold" SIM Max ... Is this new Qi10 Max a game changer un distancie and forgiveness against the SIM Max ?? Thanks for your reviews, im learning a lot thanks to you a out golf material.
Cheers guys, really enjoyed that. I kind of respect the idea with the LS of just saying "well if you want low spin and max speeds, here it is", but probably more sensible to be able to move the weight back a bit and dial it in. Stands out though in an era of more mild low spin offerings.
There’s plenty of downsides to Ping 10k, lack of moveable weight, really only compatible with very high balance point shafts in its 10k moi configuration, etc etc. No driver is perfect. But one or two are pretty close.
The infinity crown is a big plus for me in the looks department. Looks so much better. Can't wait to test one. Might be the first time I bag a TM Driver.
Always think these new club reviews are quite handy because the ‘embargo’ release on the new model is also an embargo release on telling it like it is on whether the previous club was a duffer or not. Most you tube videos now really attacking the Stealth and Stealth 2 but I don’t recall anyone saying the same thing before January 8th! Great for second hand buyers who can discount the right models.
Qi10 max with 10.5 head turned down to lowest (8.5) setting….gave me the best numbers I’ve ever seen with a driver. Swing speed, ball speed and optimized for launch and spin. Which means it must be very spinny and launch super high because I normally play a 10.5 head to get close to these numbers and spins. So don’t buy off the shelf. Get fit…go hit it…check your numbers.
I enjoyed the initial impression. Really interesting how different each model seems to be, which I think is a good thing. For those of you out there like me that have a slower driver swing speed (90-95mph) I would definitely check out the reviews today from National Club Golfer (NCG) RUclips channel by Hannah Holden and the Golfalot RUclips channel review by Georgina Hirst, both UK websites with YT review channels. Hannah Holden's review for NCG was done with the head product designer at Taylormade, Tomo Bystedt, who Ian has interviewed at tested with numerous times on in the past on the TXG/CC channel. Hannah gets custom fit into all three models with different shafts and settings. She swings driver around 95mph with ball speeds in the 130s and low 140s and carry distances between 220 to 230'ish. Very relatable. Also, the new tester at Golfalot (replacing Sophie Walker), Georgina Hirst, tested all three models with three STOCK shaft offerings. Her review is not as in depth, but she swings driver around 90mph with ball speed around 130 and carry distance around 210. She is also very relatable for average to lower swing speed players. Both of these reviewers have also tested the new Ping G430 Max 10k driver today on their channels, too. These are all just data points, and it is good to have multiple data points and reviews to learn from. I think Ian and Mikey and the Club Champion folks would agree on that. Nice work, team! Looking forward to your more in-depth reviews on each model.
Love the content. Do you mind sharing the size of your impact screen and how far you are from tee up to screen? Also do you ever have anyone hit the carpet tiles on the wall? Thanks guys!
To say you were disappointed in the LS seems off. Seems you were disappointed in not fitting into the lower loft head. Sounds more like a bad fit rather than a bad driver. On the plus side, more people can fit into the cheaper “core” option. But then egos and FOMO will push people to buy the LS anyway. Then they’ll complain and say it’s SLDR 2.0. 😂
What shaft was used and is it a stock option or upgrade? Currently playing the Aerojet 9 degree, turned down to 7.5 with the Motore X F1 x-stiff and swing in the mid 100's but am struggling with a low smash in the 1.4 due to off center strikes and am wondering if the Qi10 will get me some additional ball speed.
I would love to see Ian test the Max in a Ventus Black or similar shaft and knock the loft down to 7°. I’ve been doing this testing myself, and I can’t seem to miss with the Max. Plus the spin is in a good window with the loft cranked down.
Great video but I dont understand why you are playign the LS driver at the lowest loft on test. Surely this is a loft up situation! Even taking the 10 head and taking it to 9.25 would be better. (I do note you mention this later in the video)
Looks like your not quite in the right window with the ls love to see mat give it a go I think if you had 120 club it would be dynamite so your in the mid model Ian. Seems like they have driver for every speed which is a unique approach
Just been to Glasgow studio withJoe Hughes , smashing guy and superb experience going through my bag. Definitely have a look at these guys if ur looking at club fitting👍
So far in this years stuff, Callaways drivers have hit it out of the range by miles. Can't wait to try all the new Callaway woods. Might even go 4 of them this year. 1,3,5,7 or heaven.
would love to see you try the Morikawa setup and have the 9* Max turn down 2* and see how low the spin gets and whether manageable.. looks like the Liverpool red core model is in my future
What I see in this video with the Qi10 LS, happened to me with the Stealth 2 plus 9.0. EXACTLY the same! Low trajectory. I am worried and don't know which one to get now. Qi10 LS 10.5 or Qi10 normal one.
Generally speaking how is everyone feeling about the durability of carbonwood? I have a stealth and the face discoloured to a goldish colour. Not sure that it really affects performance but I have also heard of other issues with carbonwood. Btw always had great customer service with Taylormade and I guess I could exchange but as I said at this point it doesn’t seem to really effect performance. Interested in an update though and curious about people’s thoughts.
Another Honest Review from "The Boys"... Thanks for that, First Swings with LS compared to The 2nd attempt were worth looking at... Interesting to see how Clubheads respond to Swingspeed !!1 Night and Day almost... I Would be very Curious to see Mike do the same tests with his Swing Speed and Launch.... Makes me wonder if these heads are manufactured to represent swing speeds in the 90 to 105mph range ?? Curious?
Just wondering what elevation you guys are at....I live in Socal. and hitting the ball 310 yards Ave. is something that only about 20% of PGA tour players can do. When I go into Roger Dunn/Worldwide Golf Shops I do notice that I can hit my driver and 5 wood about 20 to 25 yards further (on their tracker) then I ever can on the course. When I go over to the PGA Superstore I am brought back to reality and hit my woods 20 to 25 yards less as also the case on the course. Just wish I could use certain tracker results in the real world.
The only thing that can be improved upon is retaining ball speed across the face. COR has been maxed forever. Each iteration will have slightly different weighting/ spin conditions but aside from that you are just looking for speed retention
Curious how does this driver compare to SIM original? Out of curiosity I bought a used SIM 1st Gen after watching your recent TM generation review where SIM came out on top I’ve yet to compare it to my TSR3 and won’t be able to until I’m completely recovered from my 2nd hip replacement surgery i had 2 months ago in November
Ian I’m surprised your first thoughts on the LS would be to use a higher launching shaft like the TR Red. If you get that launch up a little you’re in business.
Thats what loft is for Daniel. Go check out any of our Ventus Red, Ventus Blue and Ventus Black videos, soft shaft profiles Vs stiff shaft profiles don't quite work as advertised.
@@clubchampionmedia I’m aware that’s what loft is for. I don’t like seeing extra loft and unless you’ve tested that specific head with that shaft you’re only guessing at this point. Either way thanks for responding and enjoy your day.
Interesting that I’ve seen other reviews of the LS by people with slower swing speeds and worse consistency than Ian and they were a seeing the issues with such spin, must be their delivery.
TM continues to be too complex for simple golfers like me. I have tried Stealth 1 and 2 and SIM 2 and just can't hit them as well as Titleist Driver heads. Will test this one out to see how it feels, but got the feeling it's going to be the same outcome.
With all this talk about 10K MOI in all drivers it begs the question, what's the MOI number on the Titleist TSR drivers? ...and further, how do they stack up to all these new ones?
The LS was interesting - wouldn't this really just mean that he doesn't have a swing for this LS driver? Maybe that's a good thing for this line, that the LS is really meant for high 169/170+ ball speeds. Just like how the Max is good for the slower swings
Well chaps, TaylorMade say the new face secures better to the head, an acknowledgment of a design fault in the Stealth? Seems like it, in light of all the faces falling off the Stealth. MOI at 10,000 in the max, Stealth max was 8500, and that’s the MOI of the LS version in the Qi10. All of this renders the Stealth well and truly redundant, resale value? Suspect it will drop like a stone and all the residual stock in retailers, good luck with that. The obsession with annual release rather than bi annual, means redesign for redesigns sake, this might be the first real improvement since the original SIM. Interesting that the MAX plays shorter due to the lengthy hosel, increases forgiveness, but will play shorter distances. I don’t see my TSR2 leaving the bag for any of these, especially as I don’t trust the carbon face or TM anymore, they launched the Stealth knowing it wasn’t fit for purpose, whilst you can’t say that because of your trading relationship, you do hint in that direction.
I am guessing their initial Ping review is coming out later today. Ian mentioned yesterday that they will have multiple videos per day coming out this week, and I imagine that it is why they moved the premiere time of this video earlier so they could release the Ping review this afternoon.
Mikey is sooo much more relaxed infront of the camera than in the beginning he looked so serious and uncomfortable! No he is excellent! Good work Mikey!! 100% credit for you!!
I appreciate that your initial review is not just a sales pitch for an OEM's newest driver. It further establishes TXG's credibility.
Agreed. You hardly ever see a negative review these days. They probably won't get the clubs anymore if they do. So kudos for the honesty here.
“… Very small, that’s maybe why you like it…”😂😂😂 the way Ian slides that in there is equally savage as it is class. It’d be like seeing Big Foot in a three piece suit.
Appreciate your honest review. Definitely not what TM is hoping for, but a good service for the customer!
We are so blessed to have Ian stripe every shot to give us a good review. Can’t believe the efficiency!
Just got fitted at Club Champion in Hillington/ Glasgow. Great set up. Was convinced I would get A.I. Smoke as I’m normally Callaway. Ended up with QI10 LS with Ventise Red. Can’t wait to get it and take it on the course

Mikey has a wonderfully comfortable and engaging style
Production Note: The second camera takes these videos to the next level!! Great work gents.
I think that LS could be quite the combo up at 10-10.5* at Ian's speed. Was a bit disappointed they didn't crank up the 9* head just to see flight conditions, but I do understand he hates a closed face and will be testing the 10.5* head at a later date.
The back n forth banter is becoming the highlight for all these videos
Reminds me of the SLDR Loft Up issue. That driver was too low spin for so many players, so you had to add static loft to make it work. As for the Max models, I agree with Mike. Sorry guys, we moved the Premiere up to 9am. Hope you can join us. 👍🏼
Noooooooo
Need more normal player review with these new clubs.
Have you ever came back a week later and do the exact same tests? I wanted to know if your swing changes at all and effects the results.
Qi10 is overrated
Knew the LS models were low skinny when Rory and Tiger added loft on top of Tiger adding a higher launching shaft.
The face on my brothers OG Stealth just popped off at the range yesterday...no cracks or breakage...just popped right off the chassis!
Very common
One of my playing partners had that happen last summer, twice, a month and a half apart. I unloaded mine as fast as I could
Still gaming my OG Stealth, genuinely surprised this hasn’t happened to me yet
Chinese junk!
Taylormades do that.

I just hope the face is fixed. The stealth 2 caved in twice in a month on me last year.
Great video on why you need to get fitted for your clubs. 50 yards difference between one that doesn’t work for Ian vs the one that does..
Getting fitted is huge

coming out the gate firing gotta love it. an honest review as well
That’s a great call. Retest with 10.5. The LS seems like it could be like the SLDR with better forgiveness. I can see a lot of people lofting up
Would love to see a review/comparison on the krank drivers and fairway woods that bryson has been using!

Love the content. Do you mind sharing the size of your impact screen and how far you are from tee up to screen? Also do you ever have anyone hit the carpet tiles on the wall? Thanks guys!
Interesting take on the MOI. When you say a fitted driver(non-max) is better than a 10k, in what ways ? I see Nelly Korda is playing the Qi10 MAX
One of the more interesting reviews for the boys. The comments about the Max have me thinking. Maybe the big box stores like an off the rack product.

Great video! I'm going to go with Qi10 Max but knock it down to 8 degree. I think that will keep the low spin yet offer the maximum MOI.
Gentleman, great video as always! Any chance we could see the LS on an Autoflex? Its seems to want the added dynamic loft the shaft could provide.
Can't wait for a head to head with all the new clubs.
So far Ian has been the only person on RUclips I’ve seen with the low spin issue. Makes me wonder what would fit now.
Rory and fleetwood just recently went to the regular Qi10. Even they new it was too much effort to play the LS.
Ian really didn't seem too thrilled with the LS.....maybe its just me. all pumped up to try the new TM Drivers and they didn't seem too blown away....
I feel like LS should get another go around with 10.5 cranked open and maybe a higher spinning shaft? Ventus blue?
These look so much better than the stealth/2 drivers.

Really glad you met Joe. He and Dane are doing a brilliant Job over there.
So far in this years stuff, Callaways drivers have hit it out of the range by miles. Can't wait to try all the new Callaway woods. Might even go 4 of them this year. 1,3,5,7 or heaven.
Taylormade or ping or cobra or callaway or PXG. Easiest to hit looks feel, your opinions please.
Anxious to see a comparison with the Paradym AI Smokes.
would love to see you try the Morikawa setup and have the 9* Max turn down 2* and see how low the spin gets and whether manageable.. looks like the Liverpool red core model is in my future
Ls reminds me of sldr. Unless you have crazy speed or really hit up, it just isn't playable without more loft.
Watched this video straight after the ping 10k test, Ping wins by a mile, I know they love Taylormade but easy to see that Ping has the better driver.
The Qi looked to underwhelm vs the AI Smoke so far. I can't wait to see some head to head comparisons and the driver bracket for some fun
What I see in this video with the Qi10 LS, happened to me with the Stealth 2 plus 9.0. EXACTLY the same! Low trajectory. I am worried and don't know which one to get now. Qi10 LS 10.5 or Qi10 normal one.

I agree. No such thing as "best driver of year 202*" and rather best driver for swing speed xyz mph. Slow swing speeds need higher spin and launch.
Sounds like the LS will take us back to the wiley SLDR days. Low spin bombs and lower spin snappers.
So TSR3 still the GOAT?
Any info on what stock shaft offering are going to be available? Not everyone is going to order upchage shafts. Most won’t.
Would be interesting to see ian hit some power fades could be a better fit for that type of swing

What shaft did you have in the LS model? How about the Regular model?
Did I hear Mikey get bleeped out? 😂😅😂
I thought you were more consistent with the Callaway Paradym Smoke driver
How much can they really improve on in the last 5-10 years?
The only thing that can be improved upon is retaining ball speed across the face. COR has been maxed forever. Each iteration will have slightly different weighting/ spin conditions but aside from that you are just looking for speed retention
Why not test with Ventus Blue shaft like with the ai smoke?
Did u already try that and not have good results?

It will be like the SLDR all over again with pros hitting 12 degree drivers!
There will be more adjustments on the upcoming Qi11
When will this driver and the Callaway AI Smoke driver be available to test during a fitting?
You should loft the LS up to at least 10 degrees, IMO.
👍
I prefer the every other year cycle. It's just too much to expect any significant improvements every single year.
Need to see that Qi10 LS in AutoFlex !!!!!! 🚀
I came from a TSR 3. The TSR2 8 is a weapon with a 5gram natural hotmelt, 3 gram rear weight, and with a ventus black.

Or I could just take the 10.5° open it to 9deg and it’ll probably be perfect!!
Return of the SLDR
When will we see the ping max 10k?
I am guessing their initial Ping review is coming out later today. Ian mentioned yesterday that they will have multiple videos per day coming out this week, and I imagine that it is why they moved the premiere time of this video earlier so they could release the Ping review this afternoon.
