Caleb after the game talked about that play and he said that it took a long time to get the playcall in for that last play, by the time he got everyone lined up to run it there was like 12 seconds left and he realized the play that was called wouldn’t work as they only had one shot at this point unless a timeout was called (That’s on flus). So he made an adjustment at the line and changed the play knowing the clock situation and took his shot. As always we really appreciate the analysis Tim, definitely the best on RUclips I’ve learned so much watching your vids!❤
@ I agree especially as a rookie, if anything he’s doing more than he’s supposed to, he shouldn’t be getting put in a position where he has to fix the pivotal mistakes of the coaching staff and make up for their lack of competence over and over, and he’s been doing it all season. Coaches should be there to help and propel him and they have been holding him back immensely
It seems very clear to me that Caleb picked some of those less obvious progressions because he saw a defensive lineman flashing in front of him in the direction of the earlier read. Very simply, he avoided getting a batted pass or throwing a tipped interception by moving to the next read. His talent allows him to make those work, so ultimately he has more options than many QBs do because of that.
Caleb is THE BEST QB we have ever seen in Chicago, the throws he makes are seriously impressive! He makes mistakes sure but when the game is on the line, he doesn’t think twice and makes plays to win us games, Caleb should be 3-0 in his first 3 division games! Along with a few other 4th quarter comebacks!! Get the next coach right because not only does CW deserve it but so does the team and us fans! Can we PLEASE finally take the north!🐻⬇️
As a retired saftey I appreciate your honesty about the hit on the sideline. It looked like it hurt but Caleb is a "runner" at that point. Good no call, 100% on Caleb for taking that damage, and great play by the defender. As a defensive player its our job to make the QB feel it when they run. If they try to be a hero thats on them.
33:03 Borum's whif was bad but it's not like Braxtons technique on the left side was much better. I mean sure he technically touched his defender which Borum didn't but it only amounted to about 1/10 of a second delay in him getting home.
the thing is, Borum has 4 years under his belt, Braxton needs this full year and next year of seasoning for 3 years under his belt. With Darnell Wright hurting his knee (again!) Borom was the floater, but i swear he was mentally back at guard like college, so tight on the line and not even considering the DT. This is all we have, otherwise you had Matt Pryor, who might be better for a run play. Borum is all we have!
@@chillpillology Yeah. I was saying elsewhere yesterday that we need at least improvements at O-Line and really there's not a single player on the line that I wouldn't consider an upgrade of. They're doing better without Waldron calling weird schemes that were beyond their talent level but ultimately they're merely adequate to 2nd/3rd stringers.
Just wondering - at the last play, was Caleb waiting so long to snap the ball because he PURPOSEFULLY called the wrong play to signal to eberflus to call a time out and they discuss a New play? At the same time the formation handcuffed Flus into HAVING to see if the play he had NOT called was going to work? Either way it amounted to Flus clearly being as helpless in that moment as his coaching skill has been. I kinda believe Caleb was pouting in that moment with that whole INTENTIONAL set up.
FFS, I'm not blaming the ROOKIE QB for any of what happened. He's a ROOKIE! He's under tremendous pressure and he's being asked to do things he's never done before. Shame on anyone placing any amount of blame on Caleb.
Seriously, people are treating him/hating on him like he's a 10 year vet and expecting him to game manage like prime Manning, Rodgers, Brees, etc. Yes, a timeout needed to be called in that situation, and a vet QB should be able to do that by himself, but in this situation, it's 100% ON THE COACHES WHO ARE SUPPOSED TO BE DEVELOPING/PROTECTING THEIR ROOKIE. A rookie who has dragged them back into winnable games multiple times this season only for them to lose due to stupid coaching mistakes (which includes a lack of focus from the players themselves).
Watch the first play. Tim is only looking at the WRs but the guard and Center don’t block the LB and Homer gets blown up in his hip. Bet Tim would say “gotta get that ball out” if he was sacked. Chris Morgan is a fraud and so is Tim. Watch the fucking tape Tim!
The only things I'm blaming on Caleb are his inaccurate throws. That and being a bit slow on his reads. But, as you stated, he's a rookie. I'm confident this can be cleaned up. The accuracy issues are strange to me because I didn't think anyone was really concerned with that going into the draft. He misses A LOT of open WRs. But then he drops a perfect pass in the bucket so it's obvious he can get it right.
@@scottschoen8081 yea that first half was not great with some of those throws. windycityflier - The game was completely a Pro-Detroit called game. Not even a question. Jameson Williams caught the ball and got three feet down before the fumble. Caleb also pointed out that he got hit in the head on the play where Jenkins got penalised for illegal contact to the face by pushing his opponent's helmet clean off his head. That should have been off-setting penalties with a 2nd and 10 from the 25. Instead it became 2nd and 20 from the edge of field goal range, killing any realistic chance of trying for a TD to win. The Borom sack followed immediately on what was supposed to be a draw play run behind him, which if he'd even laid a hand on the DE would have resulted in Caleb gaining a few yards and the ball being spotted on Santos's favourite right hash. The refs, the players and the coach all managed to blow this game for the Bears.

I agree Caleb has to calm his feet, which will make him much more accurate on his throws. He also needs to use his eyes as a weapon to manipulate the defense. If he calms his feet, I think it'll make him calmer where he can utilize his eyes better.
If Eberflus takes 7 points after the 2nd TD with 13.5 min left in the 4th quarter, the last possession is totally different and we're set up for a game winning FG from the 20. No sack, no Jenkins penalty. Let's not go for 2 pt conversions unless it's end of game and we need to tie. I think that will change now.
Is it me or did there not seem to be any sense of urgency from the Bears players as the clock was running down? Tuning in with about a minute left, I just assumed they didn't have any time outs...
Last drive the OC (now interim HC who was calling plays from the booth) said in the mic "This is our chance, brother." Then Caleb missed DJ, Caleb told the RT to let his guy through like Sunshine did in Remember The Titans, & then after a timeout wasn't called Caleb decided to change the last call & determined he'll either hit the game winning TD to Rome that beats the best team in the NFL or it'll get Eberflus fired. That entire drive was well done by Caleb Williams & Thomas Brown
Burning that 2nd timeout leaving only one earlier in the drive because they couldn’t get the play in and off was huge as well and nobody really mentions that. Two timeouts would’ve been so useful….not that Flus would’ve probably used them correctly.
is it just a bad camera angle or did the reciever quit his rout on the last play of the game? It looked like if he had continued to run through the play, Williams throw would had dropped right in his hands.
The point of a good head coach, is to calm down a rookie from hurting the team. Caleb called his own number at the line on the last play, gotta love the confidence, but the coach has to step in if the clock isn’t being managed. He failed miserably, and punched his ticket out of town. Happy Friday!
Caleb having so much room to grow is what excites me the most, but he *needs* a HC and staff that will actually help his development, along with himself buying in completely. The season is lost we should focus on Caleb's progress and confidence as much as possible. Being competitive and actually winning would help him a lot at this point in time. I know some fans just want to lose out bc of the lost season and to get a higher draft pick, but I think we need to go out and still compete the last 3 games have all been single score losses vs playoff teams the 49ers are beatable and Caleb has to show he can lead a team to a win without a shitty HC holding him back.
That was not a PI because the WR initiated the contact with his reach to protect himself. The defender was face guarding so it would have been a PI but yeah it was the outstretched arm that made it a non Pi. It probably could have been called a PI by another referee and no one would have complained.
I put that more on the coach as soon as he seen the offense Was discombobulated He should have called a time out x players said the same thing hall of fame coaches have said the same thing he is a rookie make it easy on your rookie qb yes should have caleb snap the ball quicker yes he is rookie still learning the nfl game he is not a veteran make it easy an dont put your young qb in that situation in the first place all this could have been avoided if the coach would have called a time out
Watch the sack at the end of the game. The ball was on the 35 yard line. #98s hand was also lined uo on the 35 yard line marker. To make matters worse there was a ze bra at the bottom of the screen standing on 35 YARD LINE. YOU CANT SAY HE DIDNT SEE IT. YOU WANNA KNOW WHY THE LEFT TACKLE DIDNT GET A HAND ON HIM? NOW YOU KNOW WHY. BY THE TIME CALEB CAUGHT THE SNAP #98 WAS ALREAY TACKLING HIM
Did Caleb make a mistake on the last play by running down the clock while he is trying to get everyone set? Yes. But a head coach is supposed to help a team overcome thier mistakes, not compound them.
what i dont like or worry about is hes making keenan his no 1 in my eyes when i was hoping either dj or rome because i dont believe keenan will be a bear next year.
I wish my team, the Commanders, had fans who took up for our QB when he’s not playing well, like you guys…We’re 7-5 and he’s still the OROY front runner and some of these clowns are calling Jayden a bust because the team’s on a 3 game losing streak, 2 of which they admit we were probably gonna lose anyway! WTH??
It's almost like the last drive of the last 3 games the players purposely screwed up in hopes to get their coach fired! I'm guessing they noticed that Eberflus knew he was getting fired at the end of the season, so he wasn't putting much effort into preparing them for each game and they got the game close to prove they are good but got redemption by getting their coach in trouble! A funny theory would be that the team has pride and doesn't want blown out, but they do want to lose to get their coach fired who has essentially quit on his team because he thinks he's getting canned anyway! Isn't there a movie with a plot like this???
You can give Caleb some fault for what happened but ultimately the HC should call the TO. It trumps all. Flus royally screwed up and got fired rightly so for all the blunders over the last 3 years with most of them this year somehow
You can argue the bears are the best team in the nfc north with an average coach…Vikings- on the ropes …packers- on the ropes …. Lions (best team in the nfl most say) - on the ropes .
Am I the only one who thinks if Rome turned toward the corner on that final play, he would’ve caught the ball and scored? Seems like that’s where Caleb was throwing to, which would’ve been right in the bucket had he turned that way initially instead of turning toward the middle. Regardless what clusterfuck of an end. WRs fault for not getting back and lining up, Caleb’s fault for snapping it earlier, and MOST of all Flus’s fault for not recognizing his ROOKIE qb does not have control of the situation and call a timeout when he’s right next to the damn ref. Bears need to hire the right guy and Caleb should have a huge year2 leap.
I don’t think his eyes go to DJ but it does go to outside maybe caleb should have faked or started looking at the middle of the field then back outside I mean you can Look at it many ways the safety was reading the position of the QB didn’t bother to look at Rome and what route he was running.
You can make demands on the OL signing…damn, nvm, not in charge. If I was Kruetz would be the OL coach. I’d make Briggs the LB coach and over the next few years, after building the line, I’d draft two star LBs
Maybe...but doesn't stop a coach from calling a timeout when he sees the clock ticking down like that, even if the players were purposely draining it down. The TO should have been called right when the sack was taken.
You're right. Everflus was convinced that Caleb was going to snap the given play, however, the second he saw that Caleb wasn't he should have seen what was happening and yanked the reins. Seems like the players knew Flus isn't that kind of guy and just steam rolled him right out of the building, using his passive nature as the bus to run him over with.
so Caleb was shit for 3 quarters again, we're blaming Fluse for that...ok now that Fluse is gone who do we blame next?...do we go back to blaming Justin Fields?
Caleb after the game talked about that play and he said that it took a long time to get the playcall in for that last play, by the time he got everyone lined up to run it there was like 12 seconds left and he realized the play that was called wouldn’t work as they only had one shot at this point unless a timeout was called (That’s on flus). FTA …you the man!
Tuning in with about a minute left, I just assumed they didn't have any time outs...
only thing i have to look forward to after Sundays is Tim pointing out how good our QB is
I think I’ve put this comment on every one of your Caleb Williams videos: Caleb wasn’t the wrong pick, Eberflus was.
I feel the need to point out on the play our RT was blocking air, the LT didn’t do much if at all better
Burning that 2nd timeout leaving only one earlier in the drive because they couldn’t get the play in and off was huge as well and nobody really mentions that. Two timeouts would’ve been so useful….not that Flus would’ve probably used them correctly.
Fta! Thanks!
caleb will end up being the best QB out of this class
is it just a bad camera angle or did the reciever quit his rout on the last play of the game? It looked like if he had continued to run through the play, Williams throw would had dropped right in his hands.
So many times it seams like the recievers give up before the play is done. It's been all season long. Like 5 seconds and they are done.
The point of a good head coach, is to calm down a rookie from hurting the team. Caleb called his own number at the line on the last play, gotta love the confidence, but the coach has to step in if the clock isn’t being managed. He failed miserably, and punched his ticket out of town. Happy Friday!
Great breakdown 👍🏽... Loved it.... Bye flus 👋🏽.... 🐻⬇️
When tim says "How?" I hear owen wilson "Wow"
Caleb having so much room to grow is what excites me the most, but he *needs* a HC and staff that will actually help his development, along with himself buying in completely. The season is lost we should focus on Caleb's progress and confidence as much as possible. Being competitive and actually winning would help him a lot at this point in time. I know some fans just want to lose out bc of the lost season and to get a higher draft pick, but I think we need to go out and still compete the last 3 games have all been single score losses vs playoff teams the 49ers are beatable and Caleb has to show he can lead a team to a win without a shitty HC holding him back.
Gotta get your business card to Ryan Poles, Tim
Commenting on the ref’s flag throw 😂
Also no 75 has been a recurring issue.
I hope the Bears reach out to you in the off season to work with Caleb at the very least!
That was not a PI because the WR initiated the contact with his reach to protect himself. The defender was face guarding so it would have been a PI but yeah it was the outstretched arm that made it a non Pi. It probably could have been called a PI by another referee and no one would have complained.
Nobody is really noting that Kmet kept moving & wasn’t set until there was 9 seconds left on the clock.
You’re the best
I put that more on the coach as soon as he seen the offense Was discombobulated He should have called a time out x players said the same thing hall of fame coaches have said the same thing he is a rookie make it easy on your rookie qb yes should have caleb snap the ball quicker yes he is rookie still learning the nfl game he is not a veteran make it easy an dont put your young qb in that situation in the first place all this could have been avoided if the coach would have called a time out
Rome got a PI on that last play.
Future is Bright, BIG IF we make the right hires!
Is it on the OC or the QB coach to address Caleb's feet, or both?! It didn't happen with Fields either. Just curious.
The first play he eyed put DJ and the saftey went over there. Well Rome had a one on one. That should have been the throw
Eyes on the salad! Love the analogy. :-)
WTH??
Tim, could i interest you in a OC position for the Bears?
Last two plays were an all around disaster. From what Caleb said I think he over thought it after being put in a tough spot.
He also said the Bears are failing Justin Fields and that he was a NFL Franchise QB …. ✅
Where o where is Roshon Johnson?
It's almost like the last drive of the last 3 games the players purposely screwed up in hopes to get their coach fired! I'm guessing they noticed that Eberflus knew he was getting fired at the end of the season, so he wasn't putting much effort into preparing them for each game and they got the game close to prove they are good but got redemption by getting their coach in trouble! A funny theory would be that the team has pride and doesn't want blown out, but they do want to lose to get their coach fired who has essentially quit on his team because he thinks he's getting canned anyway! Isn't there a movie with a plot like this???
Awesome
I think the play he got sacked on was a QB draw. Look at both OT sets and how the C goes out to block the MIKE.
I don’t think his eyes go to DJ but it does go to outside maybe caleb should have faked or started looking at the middle of the field then back outside I mean you can Look at it many ways the safety was reading the position of the QB didn’t bother to look at Rome and what route he was running.
Eyes on the salad, walks away. 😂😂😂
Hey Tim, what you doing next year? Wanna be a qb coach for the bears? lol
You can make demands on the OL signing…damn, nvm, not in charge. If I was Kruetz would be the OL coach. I’d make Briggs the LB coach and over the next few years, after building the line, I’d draft two star LBs
I feel like Caleb made a decision at the end to get rid of eberflus he was acting like he had all the time in the world
Tim is it just me or in the first half he was stuck on first read
Dude the salad thing for the pass interference lol
you're hired.
For the algorithm broseph! Flus is OUT!! Thank fucking goodness.
FLUS GONE CALEB UP BAYBEEEE
Maybe... Players knew & made a business decision regarding a new Coach and Draft stock. This was akin to taking a fall in a boxing match.... Maybe?
Maybe...but doesn't stop a coach from calling a timeout when he sees the clock ticking down like that, even if the players were purposely draining it down. The TO should have been called right when the sack was taken.
You're right. Everflus was convinced that Caleb was going to snap the given play, however, the second he saw that Caleb wasn't he should have seen what was happening and yanked the reins. Seems like the players knew Flus isn't that kind of guy and just steam rolled him right out of the building, using his passive nature as the bus to run him over with.
Tim Jenkins for QB Coach/OC!!!
Nah. He doesn’t consider O Line play. 😂
Tim Jenkins why don't you audition for the quarterbacks coach
Fta, bear down!
so Caleb was shit for 3 quarters again, we're blaming Fluse for that...ok
now that Fluse is gone who do we blame next?...do we go back to blaming Justin Fields?
Can the Bears hire Tim already
Nice job Tim!!!! How about you join the Bears team as a QB coach now that they have fired Flues.....
Bullshit.
I really hope the Bears resign Kennan Allen. When things are coming down to the wire he's able to just get open
For the algorithm
Eyes on the salad 😂😂
