I am in Illinois and going for a USA license, I received my license overseas, learning to drive there but my license expired and now I must learn to drive in the USA
I have found that the yield signs located on the onramp of most highways are rarely complied with. Also I have found that some folks fail to speed up to the appropriate speed in order to merge onto highway traffic. Lastly, turn signals. Rarely used and when they are used people feel that this automatically gives them the right to just move into your lane of travel. Turn signal is to indicate an intention to turn right or left OR change lane of travel. That said, you still have to check/ensure it is safe to make that turn or change lane of travel. 8:48
29:30 I appreciate what you're saying brother. However, if the driver is doing something that is placing the public OR yourself at great risk of injury/death I would like to think you would definitely speak up.Right? 😉
There are so many hands free devices nowadays where one can mount a variety of mobile phone to include ear pieces and yet I still see people driving with one hand and have their mobile up to their face/ear with the other while they are driving!😮 Scary time to be a driver on our nations highway folks. Stay frosty out there. 😮
Hi Rick, I was wondering if in NA you have right-of-way signs (also know as priority signs). These are the opposite of yield signs and indicate that you have priority in the intersection. It is a commonly used sign in Europe and it is usually in the shape of a yellow diamond with a white edges. I've watched a lot of footage of North-American roads and you guys don't seem to have this kind of sign in there. Is this true? If so then how do you know that you have right of way at a controlled intersection without traffic lights? Do you just look at the other road's stop/yield sign and you know that you have priority? It seems a bit strange to me.
