Parque Omar in the city is a wonderful park too. Locals call it "Panama's Central Park." About the metro, you can use any Mastercard or Visa, credit or debit, to get through the turnstiles. Takes you all the way to the airport and beyond for less than a dollar.
She’s wrong about the requirements for a pensionado visa. In Panamá you cannot get a pensionado visa based on investments or “having enough cash in the bank.” You can only qualify for a pensionado visa if you can prove at least $1,000 USD GUARANTEED monthly income FOR LIFE for a single person based only on retirement pensions or something like US Social security or some form of government or retirement MONTHLY INCOME FOR LIFE. You can have millions of dollars in the bank but that won’t qualify you for a pensionado visa in Panamá. Millions of dollars in the bank will qualify you for a visa in México however.
Panama is a great option. I've spent a good amount of time there and it really has everything. Great year around weather, amazing beaches, islands you can explore, much to love. And yes the healthcare is excellent there. Italy is a great option too! @@BeachgirlTraceyxoxo
OMG --- $1100 rent is more than the $1000 required income to qualify for a seniors retirement visa ? Not sure how 'that' works ? > A 30% rule would require $300 rent max. or 30% of $1000 ? --- Her lifestyle must be very extravagant by typical Panamanian standards ? (almost 4 times the max) ? --- $5,000 for a lawyer sounds like extorsion - just like Argentina's 'fees' ? (mafioso like) This seems very expensive to move there compared to the Philippines for example ? 🤔 -- And -- they speak English over there !

Panama City is expensive compared to their neighbors, but it is a developed city where you can drink the water and electricity is reliable, it’s safe as well. I have not yet been, but I have researched and hope to visit those fish frying folks soon, I drool just writing about it.
Panama is now expensive and cost keep rising. One can live n Panama City off of $2500.00-$$3000.00 but don’t expect to be doing too much other than taking a walk or staying on the computer all day long in your apartment. I lived there in the late 70’s for almost three years and have now lived in Colombia for the past 27 years, visiting Panama numerous times to go fishing. I have cut back on the trips to Panama and just travel to the states for breaks because the cost to go to Panama has gotten so high.
Many in the middle of the US don't think it's cheap either ! California & NYC think so. 'Average' US - SS retirement is about $1800 USD / mo. Good in S E Asia -- not in the US ? -- Many are retired in Cambodia with $800 to $1200 checks also. And the Philippines where many do well on $1000 USD.
Thank you for this addition. When you say employment do you mean obtaining employment by a Panama company or are you including digital nomads as well that work for companies outside of Panama. Thanks again!@@JR-mo8os
@@adventurefreaksss I mean hired locally but could also be under a corporation that you create. Another way to qualify is to have a baby in the country.

What's the minimum monthly income requirement to retire in Panama?
@@adventurefreaksss For Retire Visa minimum income is $1000
Would you be interested in talking on this subject on one of my podcasts? I'd be happy to have you!
What is your website or contact information.
i’m really looking to retire there
I am alos Canadian and looking to go to Panama for 6 months. How does one find rental that isnt through airbnb?
Join some Facebook groups in Panama. There may be some groups on rentals as well. Airbnb and FB groups are the best way if you're not there. Cheeers!

Very true. Panama City is very developed and not many people know you can drink the water. You have been doing your research!!
Has she mentioned the name of the building in which she lives?
I'm Canadian also, is she retired? about how much Canadian do you need monthly to live fairly comfortable?
@@GaryGooden-h6m she has a business. You could live quite well on 2k per month in Panama City.

I am checking out Panama now since I am collecting Social Security

I just worry about the American government crashing the economy and my social security not being worth much
Great information, thanks. Yet as a single woman you did not ask her about SAFETY, which is Súper important for me🙏

$200,000 is not so friendly
The Pensionada Visa is friendlier. Currently you need to show an income of 1k per month!
There are others ways to qualify for residency like employment.
