And I swear the misty card either does nothing or rolls a ton. I only use it in 1 deck, 3 times I've gotten at least 1 head and 2 of those times I got 7/8 heads in a row. In that case, it feels nearly as bad as having it happen to me, bc they just concede immediately so I didn't win either
@@geraldleoliou408random queue is not the same as a tournament, mainly because you don't know who you're gonna match up against, what they might play / have been playing, and also, Misty is just a badly designed card, it doesn't make sense it either wins you the game on the spot, or does absolutely nothing at all and hinders you
@geraldleoliou408 this makes the opposite point you think. Tournaments don't have the same problem with misty bc it isn't consistent, which is why it causes issues in a 5 consecutive win challenge
Game is way too RNG based. It really sucks when you go against a top deck Gardevoir + Mewtwo player meanwhile my basics and pokeballs are bottom deck, ruining my 4 streak
That's just a bad draw and comes with every tcg. It's not like saying I got 3 tails on my Motlres, and my OP got 7 heads with Eevee and knocked out my Moltres turn 3. THAT'S an example of RNG losing the game.
I would like some kind of best of 3 event (to mitigate RNG) or limited card pool event (No EX? Mythical Island only?) for a more interesting deck building challenge.
Totally agree on the idea that it’s better to adjust the mental state, just think about enjoying the intense competition with others. I think I’ve improved a bit since previous streak event, I’m getting to enjoy the battles more when both of us are really putting up our best. It’ll be nice to get the emblem of course but to be honest I myself currently only display the lowest rarity ones so it’s really not that big of a deal.
My friends and I got it within the first two hours we attempted it. I actually enjoyed it very much because it's the only time people are competitive, running strong decks, and thinking before they make a play. I love it. Mewtwo Ex and Gardevoir is also very consistent with Mew Ex and Mythical Slab. I had a much tougher time during Genetic Apex 1 because there were only really 3 decks people were running.
As other content creators have pointed out, even if you have an 80% win rate with a deck, the chance of getting a 5-win streak is 33%. What it comes down to is volume of games played, so unfortunately, the best strategy is to grind out as many games as possible. For content creators this is easy since they literally play the game as a job. For players who only play 1-3 games a day, they just don't get enough games in to beat the luck before the event is over.
Nah this is the best event because it gets competitive, there is no opponents timing out and things like that More enjoyable queue even if you want to go for the emblem or not
It was frustrating but it's also extremely satisfying. My first 5 streak took a bunch of tries but got it with a Druddigon/Grenija water/fire deck and then again with a Melmetal/Butterfree metal deck. Those are my two favorites right now. Tried the Mewtwo and Celebi decks but everyone else just seemed to have better luck setting up so I just went for a deck i had fun with
This type of event incentives you really pay attention how you play, I feel a better player after the 5 streak. Competitive can be so fun in card game.
I kind of like the win streak event because technically the required amount of games to win is lower... And as someone who is kind of busy with 3 Gacha's and life in general... That's kinda nice
Druddigon still is around, but I think it got pushed out a bit. Druddigon was actually so good for so long that a lot of decks started adopting backrow hitters (Pikachu ex decks all run either Zebstrika or Electabuzz and Fighting all run Hitmonlee) that it looped back around to not being as good of a lead as it should be.
I used Gyarados-EX to get the emblem. It was fun, some matches were really satisfying to play, however, after the second time my opponent just forfeited after I got lucky with Misty, I decided (after getting the emblem) to surrender on games immediately. It's a good way to farm "thanks" and it feels good to help people achieve their objectives with less stress.
Farm Thanks? Nah. I’m farming SALT! I’m crushing dreams, and gatekeeping this emblem. I want them to know that I already completed the event the first hour, and now I’m the final boss.
4:04 As a fellow Blane deck enjoyer this graph is infuriating. For the most fun Deck being lumped into the "other" 25 % while probably one of the three variants of the Moltres ex decks is the imposter Blane deck with a Moltres ex in it. disgusting :D Moltres ex ramp is too slow to keep up with the cool fast Blane Deck. I also liked the new 5 wins event. Especially when I found a unfortunate soul playing the new Celebi ex deck.
Bro I’ve played about 15 rounds in this event, won 1 and 99% of the opponents used Mew/Mewtwo decks. Talk about cheap/low hanging fruit. It got boring fast and totally ruined my morale.
Not a hot take, but I have to wonder how this game will keep new players joining up after several months to a year post-launch. I started only about 6 weeks after launch and I already felt miles behind the curve because so many other players already had complete collections and hundreds of packs opened with thousands of cards obtained - not to mention the promos I'll never have if trading goes the way it's expected to. That gap can only widen as time goes on unless new players are gifted hundreds of pack hourglasses to compensate.
Took me 1 day to finish this event , i used an Alakazam deck + 1 mew and the other one who can attack and you draw a card , i forgot his name 😂 and still ... the worst event ever
What about an event that awarded wins via different energies? Like you get the first ribbon from 3 different energies, 2nd from another 3, and 3rd from the final 2. I don’t know how multi colored decks would play into this, but it’d tone down playing the same 3 decks a ton, and encourages players to build new and unique decks
did the 5 streaks last night with celebi deck in 9 games, i've never really played much versus match especially on celebi deck (mainly played mewtwo on the first versus event and that's all) and i paired with a lot of mew mewtwo decks, my advice is for the celebi deck always go aggressive, dont afraid to wait to have your serperior first before attacking, i attacked mewtwo on 3 energy and got 3 heads 2 times on 2 matches which made the opponent surrenders right away, you never knew your luck until you try
The hardest thing about the challenge is the gate keepers using their meta decks against us f2p players. However, luck plays a major factor…most games are determined by who gets heads or tails.
I'm f2p and I have 10 streak, no losses. It's got nothing to do with money. RNG plays a role, but a good player with a well designed deck doesn't need to rely on good rng for you and bad rng for the opponent, you should have ways to take the game back even if they get misty 9 heads
Just comes down to which player gets Gardevoir first. I don't really care about being competitive in this, I just like opening booster packs and collecting the pretty art.
I think they should make it like.. 25 consecutive wins BUT every win after the first ticks onto that counter permenantly. instead of needing 5 wins in a row you just need 25 or so wins after 1 win. for example.. you win 3, then lose 2 then win 2. your first streak gives you 2 points, and your second gives you one point. so you are at 3/25. that way you can chew at it over time, it will prolong the event for most people, and you don't feel so bad getting crushed at 4 wins.
Anyone who say this event is bad probably wouldn't play ranked. Every TCG game has luck involved at some point, deal with it. I've lost my streak once before getting my 5 winstreak, my Zapdos Ex got 4 tails with its attack where 1 or 2 heads would win me the game.
I don't like this event but I'll gladly take ranked instead, bc in ranked you will go up if you win most of your games, in the long run a few unlucky losses won't matter if you win the games with neutral/good luck. Just getting a 5 win streak 1) is boring 2) relies on luck too much. Ranked would rely on luck too because the game is lowkey a coinflip simulator, but I feel the number of games needed to rank up to X would partly mitigate that.
I managed to get the emblem both times, and the only reason I went for any more wins after that was because I hadn't finished my missions yet. After that, however, I became an anti griefer, and just auto conceding to help other people get their streaks, unless I saw my opponent also had the emblem. That said, I still think it's a poorly designed event and the game would be better off without it.
Like, this game is literally not compatible with this type of event, losing in a card game is meant to happen at time, there's way less skill than say cod
I think the event is awesome and does not need any changes. I am also one of the people who enjoys playing into the event queue to deny other people their win streaks after I have earned mine
I wish they forced people to play decks they normally won’t by putting restrictions like must be tri-color, no EX, no duplicates, Pokémon only (or gengar’s ability always active) or evolving Pokémon only... I just feel like they can come up with something other than win 45 and win consecutively because all that does is force people to play the same strong meta decks they have been all expansion long
I have my emblem already. Now I'm just being disruptive because people cry too much Last event I was giving away Ws. But doesn't help no one. No one is getting better with that I won my streak with Starmie/Greninja. Both cards plus Sabrina can be found on the Charizard pack, Misty I got from Wonder Picks, but she did nothing during my game (tails every time). The people that complain they are f2p (me too) focus on collecting, that's why they can hardly build decks
People should just take it for what it is and play the game for fun. Accept that the game and the event is full RNG. Getting the shiny thing is still fun. Just play enougj with a good enough deck to get lucky enough, it's not that hard.
I did my 10 matches to get my pack hourglasses and won 0 of them because of horrible luck Ran every deck I had just to see if any of them would give me any kind of luck too but nope 😢
I am getting absolutely destroyed this tournament, no matter what deck I use I don’t know why EDIT: I managed to beat it with a mewtwo deck it wasn’t hard after the first day
Try out 2 exeggutor ex, 2 (newer)tauros, and 1 beedril. Make sure to have 2 giovanis for the Tauros. It works rlly well and I got 5 wins very quickly with this deck.
Blaine (any Rapidash+Ninetales) could be great because a lot of people run Celebi. But I won with Koffing+Scolipede on the first day (before getting a huge losestreak with Pika deck lmao).
Yes it is. I've tried every meta deck in the game, can't pull it off. I got the hourglasses and f*** the emblem. I take 45 wins any day, but I won't play this event anymore.
I don't know how it could be anything other than the worst event, try to win consecutively in a game were the first coin flip determines whether you win or not 90% of the time. Where decks like celebi are utterly random, yeah I'm gonna say its the worst one, because it requires luck to win these medals and not any sort of skill.
Why is everybody so pressed about this event? Yes, it's sometimes frustrating when you lose your 5th game, but why would they make an ultra easy event everytime? When you don't really have any need to play pvp except for the lousy 15 XP, this made me play much more games than usual. It's a good event and if you didn't earn the 5 win streak bedge with so much time to do it, maybe it's a skill issue

Luck issue I think you mean lol unless you think luck is a skill.
People who don’t like this simply need to get better
Or use Charizard lol
@ in my experience Char is too inconsistent to be a good choice for this, I used Celebi exeggutor and won my first five matches immediately
Doesn’t apply to beginners who dont have the cards needed for meta decks though. Its still reliant on having good decks for higher chances of winning
Ehh I was able to do it within 6 games. But it can still heavily RNG based. The game I lost was cause I didn't draw both my gyarados until the last 3 cards. Who cares about skill, we're literally playing with digital NFT pixels on a kids game
