I drove dump trucks of all types for years. This is good information. I would ad, don't dump all at once from up high as you start the load. Especially if you are in a loader. The driver will not be happy if you slam his rig around. Just sayin. Thank you and be safe.
Absolutely, let the dirt out slow. Thanks for the comment Ron!
You're awesome, great tips and advice 👌
I appreciate that!
Great works buddy, heavy equiptment
Thanks for watching!
Awesome video!! Thanks my man!!
Thanks for watching!
A Hello from across the pond all the way here from Europe and I been enjoying many of your video but you touch on a very important subject as far as I'm concerned how to think like a dirt guy. Double touching material etc. Very interesting. Could you possibly elaborate more on this. Example I worked in a D7 pushing dirt forward to a cat 352 which loaded it on to roadtrucks and off to a new dump site. All the material came in on dump truck. So it was just a matter of pushing it forward. One touch. Next week I'm all on my own in a cat 330 and we are preparing for a new site for Tesla all the topsoil have scrapped off, and a design has been loaded into the earthwork system. The topsoil is in two massive pileup and the plan is to load the trucks but before that they have to have a load of sand into the site which have to replace the scrapped off topsoil but I can only be at one place at the time. What would a guy like you and how would a dirt guy think. So far I will have the trucks dump the sand off at one end and come back to me and get the topsoil with them out until I'm nearly done at then I will start distribute the sand. What do you think?
Thanks for the comment! Without seeing the job I would handle it exactly how you're describing. It's more important to get the trucks loaded and on their way than it is to spread the sand around as soon as they dump it. I would focus on loading trucks unless you are just sitting. If you have downtime then I would jump off of my pile and go mess with the sand. If not, stay with the topsoil and get it all loaded out. Do you have a dozer you could snag here and there? You might ask the foreman if he could spare a dozer for 20 minutes sporadically through the day just to knock some piles down to make your life easier.
@@DieselandIron thx for the reply. Here at the weekend after the job is finished, just to let you know how it went, and you were right about the dozer, I guess this is why you are the go to guy for solutions, but I couldn't get down the pile because the trucks came in at 4 road trucks an hour so I had no time to lay out the sand and get material ffwd to me, so we called of he trucks and got a little cat d2 dozer with driver to push material ffwd to me and at down time he pushed the sand out so the road trucks could dump the sand. Thx looking ffwd to more from you it's both educational and entertaining.
@@segervind glad to hear it went well and you got the job done! Let me know if you've got more questions going forward
@@DieselandIron will do...maybe send a vid so you can see the project....have a good one..
What is blurred out
The bottling facility we worked at didn't want their logo seen
Why don't they put cameras on the booms? Seems like it would help a lot and would be relatively cheap addition.
Cost, more equipment to maintain, people would knock them off. With a few hours of practice you don't really need the camera.
I am triggered by you pulling in the stick on your way back to the pile to grab another bucket. Other than that good advice brother.
😂😂I hear ya. That CX80 was closer than the camera made it look and I was busy yacking instead of paying attention to what I was doing. I've found that it's habit to pull in tight when I'm not paying attention.
@@DieselandIron I do it to but only when I am swinging a 180* to help with the swing speed and dipper out to slow it back down. Got to love physics.
