Liverpool didn't lose the title race because of a lack of fire power. It was the timing of the covid outbreaks and how they affected each team. We lost players for premier league matches. They lost players on a league cup week and didn't have any issues in the league because of it. Also that Rodri hand ball against the Ev...
What happened to Brentford? At the start of the season they were incredible. I'd say, as a Liverpool fan, our hardest league game this season was the 3-3 draw away at Brentford. They were better than us all over the pitch.
Injuries and covid fucked them up around mid season. First team keeper was out for a while and things got rough. Then Erikson was signed on 6 month loan and they came back strong.
At the Leeds prediction, already miles better than mine. Somehow, only one I got right was Southampton. Put Norwich staying up, Villa in European places, Everton in 7th I think. Chelsea winning the league.
Leicester coming 8th after that start to the season and the problems they have had is mad. Tho next season I still don’t see them getting higher even with new signings and less injuries mainly cause I think Newcastle will push for top 8 too and other teams around them will get better like Tottenham United maybe arsenal
Still amazes me how many RUclipsrs/pundits didn’t back Liverpool to at least be close again. At least you’ve got the stones to admit to some of the horrendous choices (a la Watford)!
can't blame for some predictions. last season was played behind closed door so there is no crowd factor and some teams over performed and some underperformed.
I remember doing a league table prediction with an old flat mate a few years back with the loser buying the winner a case of beer… turns out we both did appallingly and each predicted only 5 teams correctly 🥴 suffice to say we just paid for our own drinks with that result 😂 good on James for having a laugh at himself!
You had a stinker with Watford, Villa, United, and West Ham, but aside from that I think you were pretty consistent with the feelings/expectations at the time. And give yourself a pat on the back for the Arsenal one. A lot of well-paid, professional pundits had them outside of the top 8 and are refusing to eat humble pie now. You got it right with them 👍
Your only mistake James is not seeing the managerial brilliance of Pep and Clop!! They will not win every year but will find a way to stay competitive inspite of injury or bad form!!!!!!!!!
Watching all these reaction videos to predictions just proves that no one can actually predict what’s gonna happen in the season, which is why the premier league is the best league in the world.
I want to say that getting the Man U shout wrong says more about them than it does you/all of us. Varane, Sancho and Ronaldo should be Premier League winning signings when brought to a team that just finished second. The Maguire and Varane shout was horrendous though
James. Please don't predict that my team, Manchester City, will win the title next year as well. Kiss of death. But in fairness, City had a lot of injuries at season's start, KDB, for instance, City's talisman, still recovering from those broken facial bones and the ankle injury sustained on international duty. And motivation. You are spot on. It diminishes after a great success. It's human nature and so I would have predicted 2nd place for City as well.
Pukki is good enough for the Premier league. He outscored the marquee signings of Lukaku, Grealish and Sancho with nowhere near the service (although a lot of those were penalties).
@RIMA nah you see, pukki can't drop to a false nine even though he is one of the best carrying the ball, as you lose that player at the front who can punish a high line.
My predictions for next season: 1. Man city 2. Liverpool 3. Chelsea 4. Man united 5. Spurs 6. Arsenal 7. Newcastle 8. West ham 9. Leicester 10. Wolves 11. Aston villa 12. Brighton 13. Everton 14. Crystal palace 15. Brentford 16. Leeds 17. Southampton 18. Fulham 19. Nottingham forest 20. Bournemouth
The Chelsea shout was fine they would either win it or come third, they are excellent on their day and Liverpool couldn't beat them over 420 minutes of football this season... They just lack that professionalism like City and Liverpool though where they can get shocked and go behind but keep calm and get 3 pts, Chelsea need to shake off slip ups like Brentford and Wolves
Liverpool not enough attacking depth? I posit that no club team in history in any league ever had a lineup of forwards better than Salah, Mane, Firmino, Jota, Diaz, Origi, and Minamino, and I doubt it's even close. Say what you will, but imagine having Minamino as your 6th or 7th choice forward lol. It was a rare moment in time that will not be repeated.
All the pundits were putting Liverpool fourth based on last year where the CBs in particular were heavily hit by injuries. You weren’t the only one but why did everyone do that based on a one off bad season?
I do these predictions every season too. My aim is to beat the consensus of the Guardian sportswriters. Every place difference for every team is a point, so lowest points wins. This season I had 78 points and the Guardian had 60. Last season I had 68, they had 55. It’s not easy! And this season I had……Chelsea to win ….same as you. At least I had Liverpool finishing above Man Utd! And Norwich, Crystal Palace and Newcastle to go down. Oh well, there’s always next season….
tbh that Norwich prediction after the placement was not great. Pukki was actually really decent, one of the best strikers this season (though that's because of how bad strikers have been). Gilmour was underwhelming, Cantwell was... not there...
All pretty good predictions TBF - could have been much better if there was more or less variables changed eg injuries etc - that kinda thing. BUT Watford - my god WTF were u thinking!!
Did you win the title ? - no we did not ,because of the most obvious penalty being missed in favor of City and FA having to apologize for that ...so keep that in mind when praising what great team City are ...
Also keep that inind how refs and VAR saved Liverpool twice against Citeh by not sending off Milner and Fabinho and gave Jota a penalty for diving against Palace.
Still lost the title though, your talking about 1 ref mistake but Liverpool got left off plenty & still had the opportunity to win the title if they beat city, which they couldn’t so, stop being a big cry baby, maybe you’ll do it next year.
@@electedwalnut607 uuuh so you are comparing should/could/would be situation against a stone cold penalty in the last minute which would impact the result ? Ok then :) Chelsea were 10 man against us, and we played 10 man against Tottenham...that didn`t affetct the results. Just FYI liverpool conceded 2 goals against Villa and Southhampton in the last 2 matches which should not be allowed...we beat both of the teams . @@virtuallimit3619 Here is someone else's compiled info. about Liverpool's attack, i can understand having doubts at the start of the season on the back of that difficult season (almost every player injured for at least a month in cumulative ) , but to say that u were right about our attack not strong enough to win the league is a joke sir and i do believe u re genuine objective but in this case it s way lower to your standards, when Liverpool won the title they scored 85 , this season they scored 94 most prolific in pl under Klopp, and not only that their attack is actually better than city's although the latter scored 99, u d ask me why, it's simply because Liverpool didn't score in only one game of pl all season where as city didn't in 4 games, and for the majority of the season city were behind in attack and goal difference, because they scored two times 5 fives goals they overlapped that's all , and Liverpool didn't win the league for 3 major factors, 1 because the challenged on all fronts, 2 they made too many stupid draws in first quarter of season, but the biggest factor ultimately var awarding 6 direct points to city, they should of draw to Everton penalty not awarded at 85, imaginary penalty awarded against wolves, soft pen against arsenal and not awarding arsenal their own pen shout, and of course Liverpool vs Tottenham in London Kane should've seen red, Liverpool should've been awarded clear pen, and even wolves second game should've gotten 2 pens wouldn't have meant Wolves getting any point but would have made goal difference battle way more tight !!
I got the top 2 in the right order and bottom 3 correct albeit only on the last day. Don’t think that’s good as I had Arsenal in third and West Ham fourth. I know nothing 😁. The rest nowhere I had Man U at 13th and thought I was being generous. Amazed where they finished considering how bad they were. I had Leeds above Man U. I really don’t know anything. I had Everton pretty high up too. I watched Everton against Man City and still surprised that team were so close to the relegation zone. Eddie Howe good manager I wouldn’t back against him. I still think he was unlucky to get relegated with Bournemouth.
My prediction was 52 points off 1. City 2. Chelsea 3. United 4. Liverpool 5. Leicester 6. Spurs 7. Arsenal 8. Everton 9. West Ham 10. Aston Villa 11. Brighton 12. Leeds 13. Wolves 14. NUFC 15. CP 16. Brentfors 17. Burnley 18. Southampton 19. Norwich 20. Watford
Chelsea are unstoppable with Chilwell on the pitch. Everything fell apart for them after losing him in November. They were top of the table by 3 points over Man City at the time.
Not bad predictions tbh. The ones that you got wrong you had the right idea about their season but just a few places wrong (apart from that horrible Watford prediction) Early predictions for next season?
I've been wondering, a lot of people predicted Chelsea to win it. There was doubt about Liverpool because of the previous season but is it possible that people didn't predict Man City to win it because serial winners are boring, and they partly did not want them to win? I'm absolutely not a City fan but was there any reason to doubt their strength?
A lot of ppl seemed to use last season as a predictor of a team's true self, but it was a season without fans. Man u had less pressure, LFC didn't have their 12th man etc

Liverpool didn't lose the title race because of a lack of fire power. It was the timing of the covid outbreaks and how they affected each team. We lost players for premier league matches. They lost players on a league cup week and didn't have any issues in the league because of it. Also that Rodri hand ball against the Ev...
@Daz Muchacho.... Cry me a river😭
@@englanduk6131 if we get a treble I will.
@@DazDiablo and so will I!!!! 🙄😭
What happened to Brentford? At the start of the season they were incredible. I'd say, as a Liverpool fan, our hardest league game this season was the 3-3 draw away at Brentford. They were better than us all over the pitch.
Liverpool lost 2 games, how were they not harder?
@@scerpalman we outplayed Leicester
West Ham probably harder tho
Injuries and covid fucked them up around mid season. First team keeper was out for a while and things got rough. Then Erikson was signed on 6 month loan and they came back strong.
The editing on this video is crazy! That must have taken a long time!
At the Leeds prediction, already miles better than mine. Somehow, only one I got right was Southampton. Put Norwich staying up, Villa in European places, Everton in 7th I think. Chelsea winning the league.
Villa bit had me crying, long live King JLA
Leicester coming 8th after that start to the season and the problems they have had is mad. Tho next season I still don’t see them getting higher even with new signings and less injuries mainly cause I think Newcastle will push for top 8 too and other teams around them will get better like Tottenham United maybe arsenal
best season ever with the best RUclips guy going ur the best👍👍👍
You know what James, you’re just a good guy, a good guy.
His predictions aint good but yeah he's a good guy
james james james . What a banger😂🤣🤣🤣
Still amazes me how many RUclipsrs/pundits didn’t back Liverpool to at least be close again. At least you’ve got the stones to admit to some of the horrendous choices (a la Watford)!
Thumbnail on point
Really was mental that so many people just wrote off Liverpool this year lol
can't blame for some predictions. last season was played behind closed door so there is no crowd factor and some teams over performed and some underperformed.
5 teams is good most of us got 2 or 3
You had a stinker with Watford, Villa, United, and West Ham, but aside from that I think you were pretty consistent with the feelings/expectations at the time. And give yourself a pat on the back for the Arsenal one. A lot of well-paid, professional pundits had them outside of the top 8 and are refusing to eat humble pie now. You got it right with them 👍
Villa just didn't perform under Smith, looks an exciting next season tho with the signings already through the door!
The “give me that 😐” 😂😂😂
Your only mistake James is not seeing the managerial brilliance of Pep and Clop!! They will not win every year but will find a way to stay competitive inspite of injury or bad form!!!!!!!!!
Watching all these reaction videos to predictions just proves that no one can actually predict what’s gonna happen in the season, which is why the premier league is the best league in the world.
Will u be doing a reaction to championship predictions?
James looks like Arthur Christmas throughout this video 🤣
Absolutely great video James. Always love your videos.
Thank you so much for your in depth content. And work you do 🏆❤️
Whole video worth it for the very brief Arsenal fan impression.
We need your premier league awards video
Pukki is good enough for the Premier league. He outscored the marquee signings of Lukaku, Grealish and Sancho with nowhere near the service (although a lot of those were penalties).
@RIMA nah you see, pukki can't drop to a false nine even though he is one of the best carrying the ball, as you lose that player at the front who can punish a high line.
My predictions for next season:
1. Man city
2. Liverpool
3. Chelsea
4. Man united
5. Spurs
6. Arsenal
7. Newcastle
8. West ham
9. Leicester
10. Wolves
11. Aston villa
12. Brighton
13. Everton
14. Crystal palace
15. Brentford
16. Leeds
17. Southampton
18. Fulham
19. Nottingham forest
20. Bournemouth
Just as well your bottom three picks itself for next season: Fulham, Bournemouth and Leeds.
As a Norwich fan, I’m not surprised
In fairness with Leeds, they were missing their striker all season basically. With a fit Bamford you wouldn't have been far off
Every team has injuries. The problem was a pig ignorant coach who couldn't set up a team to defend ever
I am laughing. I didn't get even one prediction wrong ... (wait for it) ... because I didn't make any. 🥴🥴🥴
We all have our chockers mate, my predictions were:

Liverpool not enough attacking depth? I posit that no club team in history in any league ever had a lineup of forwards better than Salah, Mane, Firmino, Jota, Diaz, Origi, and Minamino, and I doubt it's even close. Say what you will, but imagine having Minamino as your 6th or 7th choice forward lol. It was a rare moment in time that will not be repeated.
All the pundits were putting Liverpool fourth based on last year where the CBs in particular were heavily hit by injuries. You weren’t the only one but why did everyone do that based on a one off bad season?
No clue mate
Gilmour was underwhelming, Cantwell was... not there...
nice scrubs reference jim ;)
Funny watching James turn into Prime Kenny from South Park with those bad football takes.
Get James to 300,000 subs by the end of the year!!
All pretty good predictions TBF - could have been much better if there was more or less variables changed eg injuries etc - that kinda thing. BUT Watford - my god WTF were u thinking!!
To be fair, Pukki did outscore all of Chelsea’s squad besides just one of their midfielders, including a 100mil striker 😂
Should do a video on your choice of awards
That Watford prediction though hahahha, I respect it haha!
Still baffled why everyone thought Villa would be so high up . Why does everyone think that squad is so good
I got three correct places... Man City, Watford and Norwich
Clearly u don`t grasp the concept at clear final minute impact and VAR not working which they "appologized" for it afterwards :)
My prediction was 52 points off
1. City
2. Chelsea
3. United
4. Liverpool
5. Leicester
6. Spurs
7. Arsenal
8. Everton
9. West Ham
10. Aston Villa
11. Brighton
12. Leeds
13. Wolves
14. NUFC
15. CP
16. Brentfors
17. Burnley
18. Southampton
19. Norwich
20. Watford
Toon is getting conference league next year Thor on form since international break
Chelsea are unstoppable with Chilwell on the pitch. Everything fell apart for them after losing him in November. They were top of the table by 3 points over Man City at the time.
You don't deserve the league of your relying on your wing back
Not bad predictions tbh.
You are a chump Alcott!! Had to wait until he told me not to do it.😊
A lot of ppl seemed to use last season as a predictor of a team's true self, but it was a season without fans. Man u had less pressure, LFC didn't have their 12th man etc
A lot of people thought united could challenge too hahaha
