This show was just amazing you could never believe that you would love every character and Ryan Eggold who played Dr Goodwin you just fell in love with his character and the rest so bittersweet to see it end but it was one amazing ending ❤thank you guys for an amazing 5 seasons 💋
I just recently got into this show and am loving it (on season 4 right now). I wish it wasn't going away. A great cast and I have fallen in love with the Dr. Goodwin character. I hate to see this show end.😥
What New Amsterdam did was to show people how to care about others. So often we give advice and do not say. "How can I help." This was a take away for me and others that have seen the show that I have talked to. The other thing is it also showed where we are lacking in our REAL healthcare system!!
It was amazing show but ending of Helen was in a bad taste. They showed Dr. Max and Dr. Helen relationship so intense but all of a sudden it ended without giving any solid reason ! The Helen part could have been done by some other actress if Freema was not available. Anyways loved the show till 4th season which I can watch. Ryan Eggold loved your work throughout the serial and before that in Blacklist. Keep up the amazing work ! I’ve watched lots of different medical based shows off and on for many years. The first shows that I remember watching were M.A.S.H. and St. Elsewhere. Vastly different styles of a show about doctors, But very well done. I just finished season five episode 13 of new Amsterdam. The show really moved me, To the level that it’s very hard for me to describe. Mr. Eggold, I would like to thank you for starting as the character Max Goodwin. I felt I deep sadness when the show ended as I really enjoyed the unfolding of his career as medical Director of New Amsterdam hospital. Although the final episode was a shock for me, you really did a great job endings it because it showed him putting his family first and effect it had on his child who eventually took over as medical Director later in her life. The impact that he had on his daughter By inspiring her to become a doctor was amazing. And ending it with the “how can I help” line Was a fitting way to end such an awesome show. I can honestly say I’ve binged watched this show, finishing it in approximately two weeks. I’ve never done that with a TV show before. She was very heartwarming and sad and exciting and the character interactions we’re really moving. I am very very glad that decided one day to give to show a chance because although the ending was sad for me, it did instill A feeling of hope while watching the show. I wish you luck in your future endeavors. Thank you for Creating such a heartfelt show because it’s not often that I watch something that actually gives me such powerful emotional reactions. I suffer from Quite a few medical issues as well as a few mental health issues. I am fortunate to say that most of the doctors and specialists that I see are very similar to the cast of new Amsterdam and by that I mean they are kind, genuine and caring people. I will say though that there was one point in the show where I almost decided to stopped watching it. It was the episode where Sandra May Frank’s character Dr. Wilder approached Max Goodwin at the end of the shift at the hospital and they happen to see it has other character Helen on television and the effect it had on Max appeared that it was going to destroy his relationship that was developing with Dr. Wilder. Max has gone through so much pain, nearly dying from cancer, having his wife die, having his next love fall apart, and just when it seems he’s about to find love again you can see something was gonna just tear it away from him again. I’m glad I decided to continue watching because in the end it was worth it. I really enjoy shows that make me feel deeply but watching them. I like shows like this because the characters feel so genuine and relatable… something that is very important to me. Anyways, thank you again to the entire cast of new Amsterdam. And thank you Ryan Eggold for creating such a character as Max Goodwin. You did an amazing job and I hope to see more Television and movies with you starring in them.

If only Helen was there :( even though she left after Season 4 so it’s sooo sad that this show has officially ended!! Gonna miss it
