I have a confession to make. Now that I am retired, I love to sleep in. I then have a cup of tea and look at my mail, Facebook and instagram. This gives me the energy to get up and go. After years of getting up early and running to work, these moments are magical to me. Love ya Jen.
Good for you! I wish I felt that way… I recently retired but WANT to continue getting up early as it’s a magical time of day… but I CANT! I keep sleeping in and struggle to wake up early. I really want my early mornings back and want to begin new morning routines at this wonderful time in my life. Anyone else have this problem? Loved this video Jennifer and all your books🥰!
Me too. I spent an entire nursing career getting up at strange and inconsistent time . Often on call. 12 hour shifts……I sleep till i wake up or my dog wants up, coffee and then check mail etc, journaling, calendar checking organizing my activities. No rushing around. Then i am up and busy for the day at my speed. Happiness is retirement.
So peaceful. I’m always surrounded by the loudness of kids unless they’re asleep and they’re always awake before me. If I was smelling a flower I’d be interrupted by a question. It happens whenever I’m doing a peaceful enjoyable activity. I love my children, I really do but I’m an introvert and I think all my children are extroverted lol.
Coffee, crisp morning breezes on the patio, watching the bird feeders, even feeding the cat are all part of my morning routine. I hadn’t thought of the routine being magical before, but now that you mention it, it is. After this time, the day takes on a life of its own.
Life with a chronic illness certainly makes mornings more challenging. Some nights I am in constant pain. However, I intentionally do not allow myself to sleep in and still make my bed every morning. This helps me to get motivated, and if I need a little cat nap in the afternoon after I have done chores, I take it. I also make a list in the morning over tea of what I can realistically accomplish. It is a good feeling to know that before I go to sleep at night, I was able to accomplish a few things. Keeping a gratitude journal has also helped accentuate the positive, instead of dwelling on the negative which is also a challenge with being ill.
The music and your voice were so relaxing in this video. I could feel the tension melting out of my shoulders. This was such a good reminder to make myself get up earlier and to make my routine intentional. I think we all have routines whether we know it or not. But it is not always intentional. Thank you Jennifer!
Jennifer, sometimes I think you are a SUPERWOMAN. I work 12-hour nursing shifts out of necessity. However, I really wish that I didn't have to do this and I always feel as if I am three weeks behind on everything. I wish I could get up in the morning and actually be PRESENT. For about a year I've been trying to incorporate Hygge into my daily routine, but I can't say that I'm always successful. I'm working on being more aware of the little things, but It's not easy to do on the 12-hour days. So, I try to remind myself that even though I have to work more than I want to, there are still things that I can enjoy as long as I DECIDE to think about the positive things instead of the negative things. I'm still very, very thankful to you for sharing so many wonderful ideas about crock pot meals, decorating tips, the ten-item wardrobe, the arts and so many other things. Lately I've tried to work on my mindset and be more positive because once we do that it helps us to be more at peace. Thanks so much for all that you do for us!
Hi Jennifer, Thank you for these encouraging thoughts. I look forward to warmer weather when it is safe to get up earlier with the sunrise. My 9 AM appointment at my desk/dressing table is delightful as I open the blinds, let in the sun, pray, meditate on scriptures and prepare for my day with Gua Shau, skin care and light makeup. I watch the birds fly into the feeder, see the squirrels, bunnies, deer and turkeys sometimes, too; living near the woods, I’m thankful for the plethora of animals that amble down the path behind our yard. God’s creation reminds me of His awesome power to move mountains in my life. I have an unspoken prayer request for those of you who pray. All the best, Julie 🌷
“It is in the recurring details of your everyday routine where true magic happens.” Exactly why this is my favorite channel Jennifer. Thank you for another inspiring meditation.
I look forward to the sunrising as I read my daily devotional. I love the smell of coffee brewing when it is percolating. It amazes me when I am intentional about my quiet time and how much I hear from the Lord when I unplug from social media. Always look forward to your videos.
The word 'magical' to describe a morning rythm... brings an element of mystery and mirth to the everyday. My kind of amusement ❤️ Happy Valentines day to everyone!
This was a beautiful video. There is magic in the morning, but there's magic in the ending of the day, as well. :) There is magic for me in the twilight of the day. I enjoy (especially in the spring/summer when the sun sets later) sitting on our deck in the evening. I listen to the birds get ready for bed. I used to tell my son, when he was little, that they were brushing their teeth and hearing a bedtime story before finding their places in the trees to sleep. Twilight gives me a soothing calm serene feeling.
Waking up at 8:30, making coffee, saying good morning to my husband who works from home and then taking my dog out for morning walk and coming back home for breakfast and planning rest of my day while watchibg RUclips.😃 Morning is my favorite part of the day.
I love how you say to be intentional about your morning routine to make it magical. Really that could work for anything in life. My routine consists of sitting where I can see the sunrise, drinking coffee and reading my Bible. 😊 Happy Valentine’s Day! ❤️❤️❤️
Awww! My favorite of your videos and I love them all. Just like the book “The Secret Garden” magical. My mornings are very special to me. Journaling and then some time in Gods Word. A walk outside to feed my birds and let our chickens out. Lifting my hands up to the Lord in a worshipful embrace! Thank You Jennifer for being an inspiration & friend.
Awww, Miss Jennifer, you are so very dear and encouraging!! We need this sweetness in our lives, THANK YOU! Bless you for each of these little gifts of broadcasts. What a wonderful neighbor you would be!! 🙆♀️💖
This was so beautiful. Thank you 🌿 I love my morning routine, indeed, all my routines are special. I was teased as a teenager because I loved my little rituals and kept them sacred. My kids love theirs also. My son wrote a nature journal every day and had it published in 24 countries and won awards when he was just 16 - observing magic and atuning to you inner being: you never know what could happen. So inspired by your journey, Jennifer 💖
The perfect message for Monday Morning! Thank you for blessing us with your beautiful words and videography Jennifer. You are so amazing and inspiring. Love and big hugs! 🤗💛Robin
I've listened twice now and I took notes. I experienced a time in my life years ago that I truly had a magical morning routine. I felt totally in sink with myself and I could hardly wait for it to get light outside so I could take my coffee tray outside. After experiencing losses over the years, as we all do, I've tried to get that feeling back. I realize now that I had been dragging around the heaviness of loss every day. It's time to set that aside and find my magic again. I miss the overall peace, contentment and quiet joy I experienced each day! Thank you for the reminder of the Lamentations verse. I have your Madame Chic books and I love the message. It's time to read them again! Thank you!
I loved this, Jennifer. Some of the things I look forward to in my morning routine are my first sip of my favorite tea (black vanilla caramel tea), digging into my Bible study and writing out my daily verse and taking care of our animal chores. We have chickens, ducks, guinea fowl, a rabbit and dog but I also love to watch my f-i-l's cows cross to pasture to water in the mornings. Perfection.
Jennifer you remind us to rejoice the the simple pleasures of life, they are most important because they are what sustain us. Thank you for this beautiful video!
My son and 2 granddaughters live with me. I get up (4:30 a.m.) about 40 minutes before I have to wake up the first Granddaughter for school. I love the dark quiet of the house and make that first cup of coffee. When the second has to get up, the dog comes out and i open the patio door for him and leave it open to hear the birds. Best time of the day for me.
There is nothing more beautiful than watching the sunrise. The peace and stillness is a very special experience. One of the most enjoyable sounds is the first note of a chirping bird and I love the fresh smell of each new morning. For me it's enchanting. Take care Jennifer and keep making those morning memories🦋
I am by nature, not a morning person but over the years I've trained myself. I've even encouraged my clients to get up just thirty minutes early to treat themselves to something lovely. Thank you Jennifer for sharing your beautiful secret with the world. God bless you with many, many years of quiet mornings.
This lovely video was part of my magical morning today! Thanks, Jennifer! I've developed a very simple morning routine, but one that I truly enjoy. Making coffee in our Chemex (manual pour-over method in a glass carafe) is a ritual that lets me wake up slowly over the first minutes out of bed. Then I sit the morning light with my coffee and a small stack of a few books. One is my planner, to check events of the day and record tidbits about the day before. One is my Bible - I've decided to simply read one chapter a day (as opposed to several, as I tried to do in the past), so I can truly soak it in, and I'm enjoying it immensely. The third book is my journal. When you shared about your gratitude journaling in January, it appealed to me. Since January 7th, I've been writing ten goals and ten things for which I'm grateful every day. The "goals" part has allowed me to gain clarity on habits that are important to my current season of life, and allowed me to make successful progress with them far more rapidly than before, simply due to reminding myself of them on a daily basis. The "gratitude" part has come to serve as a reflection of what is on my heart each day, including events in my life, which seems like a concise version of traditional journaling. Again, THANK YOU for being such a helpful mentor in my life, Jennifer!
Wonderful Video, Jennifer..I am retired and grateful for morning rituals. Your floral gardens are beautiful and are an inspiration of peacefulness.. I fully enjoy your interpretation…🌷🌷
Beautiful video Jennifer! When it's spring/summer I practically jump out of bed...but when it's freezing cold and pitch black I just want to curl up under blankets until the sun comes up!
🌅 It’s a beautiful morning! 🐦 A blessing. 🙏🏼 No wonder you were so excited about this video! 👩🏻🎨 Happy Valentines Day, Jennifer! 💝Thank you for your gift! ✍🏻
Watching the birds come at dawn to my feeder. Feeding the stray cats who depend on the generosity of a stranger gets me out of bed and propels me toward purpose.
This video really struck a chord with me. I struggle in the mornings to stay consistent in any type of routine. I find myself dreading the early mornings sometimes. I hadn't thought about making them magical or special or taking time just for me. The idea that one's morning routine sets the tone for the day is something that I really need to think about. My brain is off and running with all the things I need to do that day and beyond when I wake up. Because of this, I wake up feeling anxious and behind. Hmm...Thank you, Jennifer, for this very special video!!
I often read about 10 pages when I wake up and do morning pages, just a few lines. It’s to clear my mind and give me pleasure to start the day. Also, this video is filmed in new way compared to your others and I love it. It is beautiful and so calming. Hope to see you keep doing this kind of video in the future.
This was lovely, Jennifer. I am not a morning person. But sometimes I'm able to be up early, and I know that there's magic there. It is easier in good weather, with open windows and you can hear the birds stirring.
I, like you, am a morning person! It is so peaceful and I give thanks to God to have another day with my family. It is the most beautiful part of the day for me.i will have to give writing down what I am thankful for a try.
I love the ambiance and message in this video! I am also a morning person and my very first morning routine is a prayer called Modah Ani ("I thank You.."). Thank you for this beautiful video!
Oh I love this! My morning routine is sort of magical too, although I share it with my fur baby:) Short meditation, sitting in the silence with my dog and sipping chai slowly while watching nature from my sunroom is indeed magical for me. Thanks Jennifer for sharing your morning routine with us ❤️
Lovely, lovely video. Very moving quotes, will write them in my day book. I’m awake before 5:00am, and love the quietness of my world. We had snow yesterday, the soft fluffy kind, so beautiful. Snow muffles sound. It is like living in a snow globe.
I have been writing in my gratitude journal every day, thanks to you and the Chic Assignment. You're right - it makes such a difference! Blessings, Kathy
There are 2 small houses between my bedroom window and the bell tower. The Basilica of St. Mary’s was founded in 1795 so it is 30 years older than my house. The bells ring on the hour. To be awakened by the bells is a feeling like no other. It is my favorite way to wake up. Like the sunrise, it is a constant and predictable event. I need that especially now. 🔔
Ooh a magical morning routine…this is what I want to build on. For instance instead of driving to the Starbucks down the street from me or heading to Wendy’s for coffee I’m going to buy a little coffee pot and make my own coffee. Save some money too. I can make my morning cup of coffee and enjoy my drink as I open the blinds and let in some fresh air and just listen to the stillness, before the cars come to the road. I can go for a short walk in my neighborhood and start my day by reading a chapter in a book my coworker gave to me to read! Since I work the evening shift I still have time to get ready and style my hair for work. I love listening to philharmonic classic Disney songs on RUclips. It’s pure bliss! Ooh this is going to be fun seeing what my morning routine can be like and set up my day!
Thank you for encouraging us to be connoisseurs and curators of our own lives. I love your style, and others of the French style; but I forgot that each person has their own style. I have always admired the joie de vivre of french-style but now understand it is a matter of spirit as a result of this video. We each are own Madam Chic. Thank you
Beautiful video. One of my most treasured moments is getting ready for the day. (As is getting ready for sleep.) The act of changing from sleepwear to my “day/work” clothes (currently slacks or nice jeans and a sweater) and a touch of make up is a celebration of a new day for me. I both appreciate and need the delineation between those two periods of my day. The simple act of dressing appropriately helps to keep my days from running together. And also important is the moments I spend thinking about my day while I drink my tea.
This is so true Pam especially the getting ready part there's something great about a new day and knowing your at least ready for it makes me feel more productive
I love your coffee mug! Magical moments? Pulling the shades up. On days that are warm enough here in New England I have my morning coffee on the little deck my son and grandson built for me. Monday through Friday I make coffee and am greeted by my grandson coming here before he heads to the bus stop to tell me to have a nice day (He is sweet to do this to brighten my day). I do try to make my bed after my first cup of coffee. Seeing my bed made always makes me happy.
I loved this video.... I've had a Morning Routiine for a very long time... I was not ever one to hurry, get dressed rush out the door, even when I had children growing up. I got up half hour earlier to have my " quiet time " and enjoy a cup of tea, and get myself ready ,etc, before I woke them. Even when I was single, living alone, I had a Morning Routine. I noticed that Affirmation from Florence Scovill Shinn. It's one I use often. I have had her books, Affirmation Cards, and purchased her book in 2002. ...I'm on my third one, I take that book everywhere I would go. Thank you for such an inspirational video. xx
I always think of Alexander McCall Smiths character Precious Ramotswe walking in her garden with her red bush tea every morning. Its something i do also. Checking on the ripening tomatoes, the lemons, picking a tiny leaf of lavendar or rosemary and rubbing it in my fingers so i can smell it. Yes it is magical.
I believe fully in this but this morning I had to stop this video 8 times to deal with my 11 year old's getting ready for school crises :)) I guess the lesson is not to watch ideas pieces this early. I always savour my morning coffee no matter what's happening and will try and build my weekend routine of stepping outside to "smell the day" into the week mornings. Thanks for some wonderful inspiration.
I tend to sleep in lately after a lifetime of rising early. When my 4 children were small, I would always get up around 5:00 - Id be out the door on a run by 5:30. I cherished my runs as it was my only time that I had to myself during the day.
Oh, I just LOVE what you said about keeping your routine sacred and not sharing it with too many people. Yes, yes. Wonderful advice. We give so much of ourselves away, and it needn't be that way.
Dear Jennifer, For many months I have dedicated part of my mornings to study French and German. It is amazing how much I advanced in my studies. I did notice that my husband felt abandoned. He likes me to sit for breakfast with him before he goes to work. I am not hungry at 7 :00 am , but I remark that that gesture is important to him. This morning I got up, made sandwiches for him and my oldest son, helped them to get out of the house. After that took 90 minutes cleaning kitchen, taking thrush out, and starting laundry. Not glamorous but helps to create a pleasant environment for myself and their return home. One of my " magical moments" is when I drive. I love classical music, so I listen to Vivaldi, Bach, Handel, Mozart and more modern composers as well. Beautiful video!
Jennifer love your words can see the writer in you, beautiful! I can’t help notice how beautiful your yard is! Please may we have a walk-around of your beautiful yard with your lovely thoughts? 😌 Thank you!
thank you! My gratitude journal makes me stop and really appreciate so many things! Monday mornings are tough but I do like the early morning quiet. .as always , thanks for posting just what I needed!!
Thank you always Jennifer🙏🏽🌹🙏🏽 Thank you for teaching me what my own mother never possibly could; I feel you were sent to me by angels. God bless you and your family🙏🏽❣️🙏🏽
Lovely video and excellent advice. Watching this was a reward to myself after spending time this morning simplifying and cleaning my bedroom. I tried a more elaborate design style in the room with more color, art, pillows, throws, candles, etc and although pretty I wasn't peaceful in the space. It would look messy quickly at bedtime, take too long to reset in the morning and too much to dust. The room may look plain now but for me, it feels calming and restful again. I'm looking forward to having my magical morning routine back tomorrow.
So peaceful and relaxing. I also look forward to my first sip of coffee and reading at dawn's early light. A beautiful way to start the day. Happy Valentine's Day to you and your family. XOXO
What an inspiring video to start Valentine’s Day. You encourage us to enjoy the quiet hours of the early morning to prepare us for the rest of the day. Happy Valentine’s Day! 💕💐☕️🍫
So lovely. We rise very early as our school starts quite early and we commute now. One thing I've learned to love is the drive in. The sun is just barely rising-- it makes the mountains glow. It's just beautiful. We listen to a good book or music; it truly stirs my heart. ❤️ I do need to start writing my gratitude down. It's an idea I've been drawn to, but never tried. Thank you for sharing!
This is lovely, thank you. I don't get time before my little girl gets up... maybe I don't sleep well enough at night. But after I drop her off at school and come home... and little moments throughout the day. Your sharing with us how to embrace these small moments of beauty and gracefulness has been such a treasure. Our home burned down last summer in the River Fire (Grass Valley), and my 7 year old daughter and I have loved sharing time to watch your videos and read Connoisseur Kids together. My normally fierce, intense little girl turns gentle and peaceful. She loves learning about table manners, good grooming, and drinking 7 cups of water a day from "Madame Chic." I know that's not you, but we like to call you that :) Your presence has been magical and healing!
Magical video! I’m a bit frustrated with my morning routine these days. I mostly just look forward to my cup of Irish breakfast tea with creamy oat milk.
This was one of my favorite videos you have done! It was beautiful! I couldn’t agree more that mornings are magical and most definitely my favorite part of the day. Your video reminded me that I should go outside in the quiet start of the day. It reminds me of Romans 1:20 where it says that God reveals His divine attributes in creation. Isn’t that true?!? So beautiful!
I try to start of the morning with the Desirderata, a beautiful poem that is also great advice. I also listen to Patrick Bernhardt's Solaris Universalis. By the way, "magic"is an adjective of the noun "magi" or "mage", or wise one. Habits become destiny.
Ah, so peaceful and beautiful. I’m always refreshed when I watch your videos. I love when I enjoy a good morning routine. I need to remind myself to go to bed early!
Oh Jennifer, I will be thinking of you! You have impacted my life more than you'll ever know! You've helped to create new brain pathways... what greater help could we be to others than that!?
That was special. Very thoughtful and meaningful from the heart. Thankful for our new day and new mercies! You have a gift to speak and inspire others.

This comment made me laugh, I can relate.

Yes i loved the music too. It reminded me a little of the intro music on the youtube channel "maree wiiks diary" which is the most magical music.
This is true whether we know it or not absolutely

Ah, that's so amazing!
Ahhh….so nice…mornings are the best!
Wonderful Video, Jennifer..I am retired and grateful for morning rituals. Your floral gardens are beautiful and are an inspiration of peacefulness.. I fully enjoy your interpretation…🌷🌷
I agree Jennifer the morning is magical. God’s mercies are new everyday.🙏🏽🌞🌿🌸
Thank you for this lovely video, Jennifer! I agree with you about God's mercies being new every day!
When my Hubby is not traveling for business we share coffee. Thank you for this glimpse into your garden sanctuary Lady Jennifer ~
Thanks for this gift of peace and kindness. Happy Valentines Day Jennifer!
I love the ambiance and message in this video! I am also a morning person and my very first morning routine is a prayer called Modah Ani ("I thank You.."). Thank you for this beautiful video!
Oh I love this! My morning routine is sort of magical too, although I share it with my fur baby:)
Short meditation, sitting in the silence with my dog and sipping chai slowly while watching nature from my sunroom is indeed magical for me.
Thanks Jennifer for sharing your morning routine with us ❤️
It looks so warm in you nook of the woods. Can’t wait for the weather to warm up where I am. Such a beautiful video. Thank you
Lovely, lovely video.
Yes thank you. I’ve been little weary post home with Covid. My mornings have not been magical and or grateful. Thank you for your perspective 👍👍
I really enjoyed how stylistic this video is. Thanks also for including scripture 🙂
Wonderful and uplifting
Thank you for this gift! God bless you!! Happy St. Valentine's Day!! Love and greetings from Panama!!
Thank you from a fellow Panamanian 😍
So many great reminders in this beautiful and relaxing video. Mornings are indeed, magical!
Thank you for such an inspirational video. xx
HI 👋 JENNIFER THANKS 🙏 FOR THE ADVICE 💐
I am not a morning person and i love to sleep…but this was inspirational and i will make the effort to see it as magical! Thanks!
I get up and immediately workout 💪🏻 Then I check the back yard for my feathered friends 🥰🐦🦆🦅
This was absolutely beautiful and true. Thank you, I love my morning routine. 🥰
Beautiful...Jennifer...truly magical..and thank god for these beautiful mornings
What could be better than that first sip of hot coffee in the morning? Of course after I give breakfast to our 3 cats 🐈🐈🐈⬛
Thank you for this lovely video, so inspiring. You're bringing poetry into the mundane, beauty in the ordinary. I'm grateful for your channel.
This is beautiful and I feel the same.
Dear Jennifer,
For many months I have dedicated part of my mornings to study French and German.
Absolutely grateful I found u!!!!
Thank you Jennifer, that was magical and right on time. Blessings.
Jennifer love your words can see the writer in you, beautiful! I can’t help notice how beautiful your yard is! Please may we have a walk-around of your beautiful yard with your lovely thoughts? 😌 Thank you!
Oh Jennifer. Thank you for this♥ I agree 100%
Your voice is so smooth and relaxing.
thank you! My gratitude journal makes me stop and really appreciate so many things! Monday mornings are tough but I do like the early morning quiet. .as always , thanks for posting just what I needed!!
My husband bringing me my first cup of coffee in the morning.
Mine too! ☕️
XOXO
Happy Valentine's Day, Janice!
Lovely!
What an inspiring video to start Valentine’s Day. You encourage us to enjoy the quiet hours of the early morning to prepare us for the rest of the day. Happy Valentine’s Day! 💕💐☕️🍫
Happy Valentine's Day!
I love that, Rachel! ♥️
I’m so sorry your home burned down ♥️ Thank you for sharing those sweet moments with your daughter! Please tell her I said, “hello”!

Soooo good! My morning routine includes your videos, they inspire me and start my day on a positive note ♥️
Yes I will remember you too. Thanks.
Happy Valentines Day 💝
Magical video!
Thank you so much for the reminder taking my morning back to the joy I had at the beginning be blessed 0:)
Thank you. Glorious. Blessings on you and your home.
That was lovely; the music, the inspiring quotes, your beautiful voice, beautiful garden, lovely home and very presentable bath robe!
So peaceful and inspiring! Jennifer, will you make a video about your Aero garden?
Thank you Jennifer! That was beautifully done💕
Oh Jennifer, I will be thinking of you! You have impacted my life more than you'll ever know! You've helped to create new brain pathways... what greater help could we be to others than that!?
Thank you! I needed to hear that today 💕
That was special. Very thoughtful and meaningful from the heart. Thankful for our new day and new mercies! You have a gift to speak and inspire others.
