Prosaic journey through a restless mind

All those colors in my eyes
attack them
hurt them
close them
why cant the world be black and white
with out shades of gray to disturb
Black or white
the fundamental colors of every thing
the base of life
white to lift you up
lift you up on those happy days
and reflect your smile to he world
black to suck you down again
stump you down
down to reality
no gray days hanging in between
like unfinished thoughts
no gray night lurking above your sleepless eyes
your eyes that see the tracks
there are tracks behind
there are tracks in front
all leading to nowhere
timeless me and you stand still
still moving
still caring
still standing
standing still in front of the world
trying to focus through all those shades of gray
I reach out and
steel a grape from a branch
and a kiss from your lips
so tasty
so sweet
so sour
so sour is the shade of gray that knocks me down
and throws me back
back towards the black
as I remember
it was not to day
it was not last week
it was not this millennium
still I remember it was
it was strong
strong
as the color of your smile
the color of your skin
your eyes
your lips
the lips as brightly red in my memory as the
zinfandels leafs in autumn
not any autumn
no other autumn
that particular autumn
this autumn
my fingers gently caress the memory of the leafs
like they where your skin
and I take the thought train to Napa
where my fingers tiptoe lightly
on your skin
travel in circles
like a confused puppy chasing its tail
in utter selfish joy
up and down
up and down your body
oh your body
no other body
no body
like you
no body
near me
only the wind bringing me the smell of grapes
and memory of a wine bottle we did not have the time to finnish
so eager we where in traveling down the lane to lust
and all this sweet sweet smell in the air of grapes and wine and hair
and there we made not love like no other love
but sat still in silence
embracing each others existence in the beautiful rainbow of life's colors
only fingers moved about
traveling lightfoot on our bodies in the night of silence
silence which brought us to a sweet sleep
like a newly born
the sweet sweet silence of love
that is so overwhelming at this moment
like the colors
the colors of the grapes
the zinfandels
and the memory of you.
