Useful sentences, thanks Alexa.
In my opinion, nobody would say « l’eau du robinet » in a restaurant. You may say « une carafe d’eau », then they understand that you want tap water and not a bottle (like Badoit, Evian etc) 😉
thank you very much, this is useful -)

Hello, I’m trying to write out a sentence and need to know if it makes sense and if the grammar is correct.
The context is one person at a hotel ordering room service for dinner via phone for herself and 2 other people:
“Bonsoir, je voudrais le steak à point, le poisson, et le plat du jour... “
Thank you for your help!!
Thanks Alexa so much, Tu est magnifique!
merciiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii alexa
Escargot est l'un de mes plats français préférés.
Moi aussi mais Ce n'est pas trouve d'habitude ici aux Etats Unis. Je l'aime bien.
Oui, c'est difficile à trouver ici. Ils avaient l'habitude de le servir au Steak and Ale mais ils ont fait faillite. Oh, comme c'était délicieux!
We have snails of course but we usually just don't eat them. Also while the word escargot means edible snail it typically consists of 3 distinct species Which are not native to the states. That said, I could buy them at the Asian store frozen then make them myself.
Merci beaucoup
as a Spanish speaker i think i'm going to stick with Est-ce qu'on puet voir instead of Puet-on voir
ça pue!
Hi Alexa. Can you please tell me when to use "la carte" or "le menu" for the word MENU.
🌺👍🌺 merci
Hi Dear Alexa thank you so much!!!…

Bonjour Alexa. Je veins du Canada. I love your videos and your style of teaching. I have learned so much. Fantastique. Is there a chance you could do another restaurant video with what the servers say to their customers. I'm going to Paris
this year and want to know what questions to expect from servers to the customers while ordering food and drinks.
Merci et je t'aime!!
Thank you Alexa
Can I say "Deux sur place, s'il vous plaît" when we at the entrance of the restaurant and need table?
Back in the day when I was learning French, my instructors told me to use the word "carte" and not "menu" for the English word menu. Maybe that has changed over the years?
I was also taught this, was about to comment asking if it's not true?
Merci merci merci..C'etait tres important lecons pour nous..merci beaucoup pour les lecons madam Alexa.. ! Bisou bisou.. :D
Très bien !
Vous êtes magnifique!!!!
But when I talk to someone who’s French the automatically speak English even if I try to carry on speaking French
I relate...especially in montreal...
Anna Zhang i was in the euro tunnel in Calais
That happened to me in California. There are a lot of French ex-pats out there. Especially in wine country. I asked everything in French. I wasn't perfect with my french, but enough that he knew what I said. Because he answered everything I asked, just in English.
It happened to me in Nice also 😂😂
I assume it to be kindness☺
@@coeurdelion1193 Can you recommend a good vineyard in Napa Valley where most of the staff is French?
Alexa..my son mentioned that it is not 22 but 23, you said 23 but the title is 22 useful expressions. merci..but nvthless you are cute
At 3:01 I noticed she doesn't pronounce the liason between pourrions-nous and avoir, I wonder if thats because its an inversion..Alexa is the best teacher hands down, free french lessons why give it a thumbs down???
I think you're correct. I'm a beginner myself, but I think where there's an inversion the following word isn't a liaison because it will be an infinitive verb.
Je veux parler au manager! MDR! So they have Karens in France too.
merci
