Hi Koala: I truly enjoy watching your videos. I totally agree with you on the observation about Singapore; safety, urban organization, convenience, hawker food and so many more. It is such an admirable country! I grew up in SG, educated and am living in the US-Los Angeles. I had also worked and lived in Indonesia and Australia; in addition to covering western US and western Canada for business a while back.
I must admit that your videos occasionally trigger a debate where I should take a step back in life. In every SG trip, I have so much fun visiting a brother in Johor Bahru. You can have so much buying powe r on tasty food. The two best parts; you can light up fire-cracker and the Chinese New Year is a full 15 days of celebration.
Excellent work in promoting SG in your videos! A 5 - star production!
Thank you! Your name sounds like me! YOLO haha... are you also FOMO? that's great to know, we have a bit of overlaps! I'm educated in NYC but i worked in SF instead :) Yes, i love it. Do you live in SG now?
@@TheKrazyKoala Hi: I currently live in Los Angeles. FOMO is a habit that I picked up growing up in SG, a mild form of "kiasue", a viral variant perhaps!
I did my BS and MS degrees in NJ. I love NYC for the Yankee accent, Sogo, Central Park and the 24/7 Chinatown food, as I graduate student. My godmother owns a building with art gallery on the east side.
I was a Lorong Ah Soo kampong boy, as original as you could get. I am a Hainanese with chicken rice in my indispensable diet. Popia and roja remain my favorites. I would cross the causeway into JB for their unique delicacy and blend of chaos which has it owns characteristics and luring curiosity.
Please enjoy the expat experience in SG which I think can make us highly competitive.
I have followed your video and bought a world map for marking the countries that I have planned to increase travelling around the world. Thank you for the great idea!

SG is definitely safe to live here. As it rest on the equator, other than humid and hot weather throughout the year, it is still bearable as we are sheltered with pathways and lots of greenery shade as a garden city. You don't to worry about typhoon, earthquakes, forest fire during Summer, Sandstorm, heatwave, etc etc like the four seasons countries which always experience it annually. It needs one to appreciate to stay in SG and one who thinks the pasture is greener on the other sides of the world to exit. Our lawful nation is strict but good for the people in SG to stay safe.
No country in this world is 100% perfection and suit everybody needs but it is the comparison of more pros than cons that people decides their lifetime home.

@@keantan24 lmao meanwhile I'm also one of the ones migrating from Aus to Sig for a few years
@@keantan24 from what I know, most Singaporeans in Australia and New Zealand live and work there even getting PRs but keep their Singaporean Status. A kind of the best of both worlds.
Australia has a practice, if you break serious laws in Aus, even you a immigrant citizen, after your jail term, you will be sent back to the country of origin, losing your Aus status.
Personally, if I am rich enough, Aus holds the attraction of owning some country land as a PR in a second (countryside) home retreat as an alternative to Singapore living.
I think it's better than Malaysia or Indonesia.

One of my sisters married to a Singaporean and few other sister also moved to Singapore. I came to Singapore on vacation trip with my family (wife and daughter) since then I fell in love with Singapore. I am planning to move to Singapore as well. Hopefully I shall move to Singapore by next year as my work has a Singapore operation.
oh wow where are u now?
@@TheKrazyKoala now I am in Bangalore, india. I am working for Deloitte consulting.same you I was working in usa and I lived in San Francisco bay area. I was working for Xilinx, San Jose.
I'm hoping to go there in 2021!
oh yes! they now open the border to a few countries, but maybe not US yet. Oh, which country are you at now?
@@TheKrazyKoala Texas and it looks like I might go for work
Singapore is also safe in the sense that it has no natural disasters....except for the occasional flash floods in certain flood prone areas due to heavy monsoon rainy season...we are certainly very blessed here.
god bless singapore 🇸🇬
Listen to this song “where i belong” by local singer Tanya Chua. You will know why you feel warmth at heart when you return “home”
140?!? Wow 😱. I'm in my 40's and I only got to visit one. Singapore, 2019.
Wow! It seems you have a lot of love for Singapore! No wonder why you prefer to live in Singapore. There's a lot of interesting things to do, and nice view to look at. That safety topic about Singapore is amazing. It's much better than America. In America, I always have to look around America just to avoid being hurt hurt by random strangers. I should take a look around Singapore someday haha.
Fun fact: If I see you in Singapore, I'm going to approach you and invite you for lunch haha. Just be alert if someone calls your name. But don't worry. I'll protect you though. :]
Oh wow u got up so early!!!
@@TheKrazyKoala Haha yes! I'm always up in the morning! I'm a early bird!
Wow insead graduate😍 My father also graduated from there ! You are so intelligent ! Love from India 💜

Does Apple 🍎 have an office in Signapore? 1/4 of the cost of healthcare and a much healthier and wrinkle free country sounds like the kind of retirement plan people would love!
Haha yes yes. I do have a classmate work in apple SG. yes , please come. SG welcomes you!!!
Singapore really does look like a great place to live wow that place looks amazing there are places like that here in the Philippines where I live but it's not very fun living in the country side you almost forget about the other places around the world to go to but I do have 2 houses and my dogs live here so I have to stay where I am for now. And cause of covid it's made it harder but buying stuff online has made it easier for me something to look forward to like a little kid getting gifts I've seen the Singapore airport it looks unbelievable
Are you related to Phillipines in blood?
@@TheKrazyKoala yeah my parents are Filipino
Welcome Singapore
S'pore is truly one of the safest country to live in. It is also free from natural disaster. And even during this trying Covid-19 period, there is very few casualties as our medical facilities is one of the best in the world.

Wow! I live here for 70 yrs. Live thru’ the 50’s till now. Seen it all, the pass & the present.
Surprise! I have been to many SEA countries but I have not been to the Changi Jewel. I have not been to Garden by the Bay.
It’s true Singapore is green, clean and very safe. You can let you kids travel in the local transport or walking in alleyway at 3am and be sure you are safe. And if you live like the local it not that expensive.
Welcome to Singapore.
Hi Tan, haha that's really funny! Wow 70 yr! I'd imagine i'll still be in SG at my 70 YO :) Perhaps you should visit jewel and garden by the bay this weekend? haha :) Did you see my other Singapore video too? ruclips.net/video/m_csyY2VMjQ/видео.html

Mr Tan, do take opportunity of our rediscovery digital vouchers $100/- provided by government for Singaporean to visit our local attractions akan Gardens by the Bay for SC and above only deduct $10/- . For Jewel attractions , only $9/-
@@TheKrazyKoala singapore is not that safe lah, lots lots very serious crimes but only bcoz political correct to say sg is safe, no one speak the truth...,
Wonderful Singapore!
oh hahah you saw it! first time seeing your visit. welcome to my channel!! and do share my video with hometown SG friend too :)
Singapore sounds absolutely amazing. I would love to live here one day! It seems like there is everything I need for a good quality life. I would love to hear more about how you were able to travel and move around so much :) also want to see your decluttering video as well. Love these cultural insight videos
😀😀 Hi Sophie, thank you! I think you also like another Singaporean guy CK's channel. But his channel doesn't talk about Singapore haha... So i'm happy to share more :)
I can move around and travel, because I'm single with less concerns, and minimalism lifestyle with agility and flexibility, -- which i mentioned in my Minimalism video about how i travel minimalistically (it was pretty bad quality in the earlier time i produced it, but did you see that video?)
Welcome I’m Singaporean
We welcome you anytime!
but the serious crimes in sg is alot, to be true balanced picture, and many serious crimes news, but is a taboo to talk about it in sg ...
The $870 is food, transport & basic stuff? Not including rental, right?
U spoke with much passion n love for SG. Have u considered citizenship? Anything u dislike about us?
Sure but the thing is Singapore does not have a SKills based PR visa system like Canada and ANZ, not to add the cost of housing.. dont get me wrong I have ben there many times and like it .. for professionals if It offered PR base don SKills and Exp but without job offer in hand it would then be a good choice along with the three countries I mentioned ( and PR meaning real PR not work permit)
oh haha yes you are right. i also don't recall SG got any skill base PR. maybe they did earlier days, but not now that i know of. But i also didn't apply for other PR in other countries, i only want to apply for the PR in the country that i'm interested in living for long term :). but hope that you will come back to visit SG again though! and check out my other videos 🙃
Wow great 👍 I love Singapore 😎my dream to settle in Singapore. Make better opportunity for me. 👍👍
oh wow. really? where are yo now?

@@IronSteelChemistry oh wow you are so far away! Algeria?! On my list soon!!!
@@TheKrazyKoala Yes I am very far from you. But don't worry I will meet you very soon ☺️☺️
While grass is always greener on the other sides, I guessed you have immersed yourself in the true essence of Singapore living, that's why u feel homely. However this may not apply to all, depending on the lifestyle one decides to adopt. Some others may like US, instead of sg living.
Anyway, I think u r more than half a Singaporean already, since u know how to use singlish sometimes and appreciate the local foodfares.😄😄
Hahahah uncle J, this comment is very deep and I can see how that engineering degree comes into use. Besides nostalgic feeling, is SG or Dubai your fav place to live?
@@TheKrazyKoala lol what has engineering got to do with this? Dubai is 4x bigger than sg. It's like a second sg. That said, home is still home for me..ultimately I will be at sg. But I'm also adaptable.
@@jasonh4905 objectively speaking. Which place is the best to live?
@@TheKrazyKoala I guess I cant really say best here, both places have its advantages and disadvantages.

I agree with that too! it's very reasonable living. Please come back for other videos. I alternatively do culture & social/philosophical topics every other week. i’ll look forward to your future comments!
You and your son still kept Malaysia citizenship, as a Malaysian your son is earning 3 times more than his Malaysian counterpart, he can buy farm land grow durian trees. goes fishing ,hunting etc. what your son can do in singapore is just working, if he become singapore citizen he needed to work until 67yo and stay in a 700 sq ft condo. medic save is going up at 3%pa. what about medical insurance? I prefer to be a malaysian and worked in singapore.
We still keep the Malaysian.citizenships at the.moment. I.agree with you.Malaysia is a cheaper place to retire after earning enough
@@mickymiao7257 worse! He can’t even withdraw his cpf when he wants to and he probably ends up homeless

I agree that Singapore is the best place to live.I say that having visited the island every year for more than 10 years. However, it is unfortunately very expensive for me as my Malaysian Ringgit is One-Third of the Sing Dollar-so every thing is 3 times more expensive! I just enjoy walking the streets and taking everything in sight. You are fortunate to live in Singapore-so good luck to you!
Hi Lee, Thank you for watching. Sorry to hear about the currency, but sometimes you never know , maybe some day your fortunate will come faster by living in Malaysia. In my experiences, the developing countries got better business opportunities. And KL got good food too!
Feel free to share it with friends! Please come back for other videos. i’ll look forward to your future comments!
you are right, very expensive, in sentosa, a small cup orange juice is $6.90 ! no plain bottled water allowed
Lee Hock, l m opposites if what you say, k live both countries, l even have a small place in Subang, U agree with you, especially l m caught in KL for the last 18 months since beginning of 2019. If l don't love Malaysia l don't know how l can survive 18 months in Malaysia
How much English is spoken? You mentioned you can live off 640 us dollars. Is that not including rent i assume? Is there national health care, private, ir both? Thanks! Great video, looks so lush and green, obviously it's known for that.
