This band is under rated! Great vocals, entertaining drummer, wicked head swirling ....if I ever win Listener Domination on Sirius XM radio, I will pick an Avatar song as one of my five. For those out there who are 40+ like me, with a family that hates metal-core, try Avatar's "The king welcomes you to Avatar country" ... it's a gateway song! Metal-roots!!!
I actually saw Avatar last year for the first time and wanted to see them again asap. So we traveled from the Czech republic just to see this show (and actually visit Sweden for the first time). It was fucking epic. I need to repeat that crazy trip. Thanks for the vid!
next time.... its just in these areas where as you say "bamba".. you do not say bamba other than in the westcoast, and for those who are not from westcoast it is the school canteen. on the school whereas you eat. we had no assembly hall , we had bamba. in our bamba we had a scene, and on that scene is where I first played hard rock. I played covers of Ozzy and AC/DC and other very, very important stuff. and when you are on a stage, you are looking at the crowd, and people are looking at you back and it feels a little shaky. A little shaky, nervous and absolutley absolutley wonderful! and then.. you get to do it again and again and again if you are lucky you get to travel the world and the nervosity become experience .. exept from here... cause bamba, its just not on almoskolan .. it is Götaplatsen.. You are bamba! There are no place in the world of all places in the world that we can play on and be this silly on that it feels so shaky, naked and absolutley wonderful. I just want to say.. Thank you..thanks for coming out and help us ending this festivalsummer and now when we are entering the dark winter we will naturally work on coming back.. cause in Gothenburg.. my family will come and watch, but in gothenburg you are my family, all of you, it feels so much bigger. you are so much bigger. And when I am with my family, I am never afraid. I am not afraid of anything, not from darkness, monsters in the closet or under the bed. no im not afraid gothenburg, not even from the inevitble end of the world. or as we say in scandinavia Ragnarök. So Let the heaven burn, let the seas cook, and the mountains shatter cause when the end comes i will stand there with my brothers and sisters with the horns raised! and when the Serpent of Midgård stands there we will scream ... HAIL THE APOCALYPSE..... Something like that..
I prefer this over just some band wearing black t-shirts (oftenly from another band), standing around like statues while playing their insrument with the occasional nod they call a headbang. This isn't just a performance, this is a show.
