A long way you had to walk to get to a spot to fish. I’m pleased you were rewarded with that bass. Those rocks don’t look the best, you would have to be sure footed. We don’t want any falls. Good video Cal.
oi oi Cal one is better than none mate and on a new ground ,, not bad day at the office and dont forget all that fresh air you had 😁😁.keep these video's coming dude
That moment when on new ground when you climb/walk only to reach an unseen deep gulley. The expletive moment. I know it :)) Good effort and to be rewarded for the effort is boss. Best of future luck Cal.
Yeah haha. Some of those spots would’ve had bass in for sure. I’ll go back on a lower tide one day and see if I can get across them. Some of the gully’s are really deep though and quite a jump to get over them.
Great video, new to the lure game so alot to learn regarding finding good ground. Btw, regarding your leader, what length do you use and do you use a swivel? Tia
Great video again! Your persistence paid off. Just out of curiosity, what reel/line do you use. I’ve only been using a cheapie reel, but I find using surface lures the line on the reel becomes slack, possibly due to not much weight in the lure. Just wondering if this is just my cheapie reel/line setup that causes this, or it’s a common thing when using lightweight lures? I could really do with investing in some better quality reels and rod, so would be interested to hear what you’re using here. Cheers 😊
Thanks 👍🏼 You do get a bit of slack line when using surface lures. You just have to stay tight to the lure, reel in the slack straight away when you cast. If there is a bit of wind then hold the rod tip down and it will keep the line out of the worst of the wind. I was using a Shimano Nasci 4000 and 26lb Daiwa J Braid here. I always spend more on a reel then the rod. 👍🏼
