That was a useful tip about the bus into town. What a beautiful church. Interesting that here in Scotland where we live, a church is called a "Kirk". Possibly a Viking influence from all the times they 'visited' us Brits centuries ago 😏
@@fire-and-ice Edinburgh is a must. Start with the castle which apart from centuries of history, sits high over the city with views out to sea. But don't linger all day if time is short. "The Royal Mile" is a road from the castle and easy to walk, that will take you past the oldest and medieval parts of the city. You'll discover St Giles Cathedral here, a church for 900 years, and at the end of the Royal Mile, The Palace of Holyrood, royal residence today, and famously for Mary Queen Of Scots. If you want some classic Scottish landscape, we would suggest a train from Edinburgh to Glasgow, (approx 40 mins) then out to the west coast where you can get a ferry across the River Clyde to what's called the Argyll Peninsula. Google it and you'll see scenery and islands that's quite easy to navigate and feels like the Highlands without having to travel that far north. Hope some of that helps guys.
