Thanks a lot man, I needed this. I've been spoiled on the g1000 for the past couple of years and will be flying a steam gauge in a couple of days for the first time in a long time.
Hello, Nice tutorial. Just to let you know. On the radio stack you can turn the mic knob to EMG to switch to the emergency frequency. You can turn the knob to PA to talk to the passenger cabin.
Hi Merryface, answering a lot of my questions but should have said that you don't press the left mouse button on the center dial but use the scroll wheel. It has been a stressful few days trying to sort these out. Doing a great job! Keep it up!
with squawk, just go to standyby to keep from transmitting random codes, put in new code, change to ALT, then click IDENT so tower gets a flash.(IF they ask for IDENT at all)
Did you try pulling out the button that says -pull ident- under NAV (making sure the volume is up) when you tried listening to the Morse code of the VOR?
So I was curious if the transponder flight level was aquired from the altimeter sensor in the plane. I looked it up in the manual for the transponder and the flight level is aquired from a flight level encoder, an addon to the transponder. This encoder sends the altitude in flight level format and in standard pressure 29.92. The airport radar then automatically convert the flight level to the correct local one. Excellent video, I learned a lot, big thanks :-)
Indeed, the Transponder is connected to an encoder, which gets the information out of the static port, just like the altimeter. Usually speaking though, I think the controllers only see flight level. Here in the UK, when there are relatively large pressure differences between standard pressure and actual pressure, it has happened to be a few times where controllers asked me to confirm my altitude, because on the radar I was a few hundred feet into their airspace, even though I was actually a couple of hundred feet above/below it. A quick clarification of the QNH and what the transponder shows though, and they relax. Not sure how it works in the US. Glad you liked the video!
Very good video , congratulations , but I have a little problem , I can not click on the button ADF radio to listen to morse code from the NDB station , I can tune the frequency without problem but I can not click on the located ADF button on daub upper part the NAV1 NAV2 buttons, any idea that can be ?, pardon my English translator using google , thank you very much
EMG bypasses the audio panel's amplifier and connects the mic and headphones directly to COM1. PA is for the Passenger Address system. See page S3-5 of the attached: www.kfc.be/kfc/POH/C172E/cessna%20172r%20-%20manual%20-%20part%204%20of%205.pdf
thanks for the tutorial! I have one question that is a bit irrelevant to the points of the tutorial. it appears that all three models of my a2a Cessna 172 have a GPS unit and no DME (well there is one but further to the right right in front of the copilot's seat). how do you remove the GPS unit from the panel?
Hit shift + 3, and a small window will pop up. There's a toggle in there for GPS. You can choose between no GPS, integrated GPS and a GPS that's stuck to the pilot's window with a suction cup. Hope that's what you meant!
for some reason, I can't change the numbers after the decimal on the radio stack. When I try turning the outer knob, it just pushes in. Does it happen to you? is it normal? How do i change the numbers after the decimal?
+Fredrick Thompson Plan-G and skyvector are both great. If you have a powerful computer, multiple screens and are doing VFR flights only then I think Plan G is best as it can also be used as a GPS by using Simconnect. That's not the case with me, so I tend to use either Skyvector, Skydemon (app for real world flying) or real world charts.
MerryfaceAviation Thanks for the precision on transponder and broadcast I changed the COM1 on radio to ATIS frequency(from Los Angeles Airport , unfortunately I could hear anything
Your working too hard to find out what radial you are on when you have the VOR tuned to the station. With a TO indication and a center needle, just look down opposite the OBS selector its upside down. Also don’t assume that if you are showing a to or from indication that you are going to or from. The Radial and or bearing to the station have nothing to do with the aircrafts heading. Nice video I learned of a few features I probably won’t use but interesting none the less. Cheers
3:59 This is what I was looking for! Thank you! I didn't know you had to pull on it to change it by 0.025

cheers for that :) very useful to know. Will see if I can incorporate this stuff when I have a little bit more free time

Your video has been very helpful for me. thanks
no worries :)
Amazing video, thank you much chief!
My pleasure!
Thanks! I couldn't work out how to change the whole digits....feel a bit daft now!

If I'm not wrong, HI-LOW SENS related to Marker Beacon receiver sensitivity (not to microphone in general meaning).
correct marker sensitivity as explained here: ruclips.net/video/c6B5EEdF_oA/видео.html

thanks i'm trying to fly the A2A cessna 172 VFR. trying to put my flight plan info into the radio

Nice video and I tired downloading the a2a 172 and the panel and in an exterior was not visible when I got in fsx what should I do

What if I needed a 6 digit frequency? Say 118.775 but I'd only be able to get 118.77 on this.
for this radio you can't. You need an 8.33khz radio. this one is a 25khz one.

I had to switch frequency from 118.5 to 121.12 and I could not get the .12 and I pulled out the knob but it was only going by .5’s :/

TupolevPilot place the mouse over the knob and use the mouse scroll wheel
MerryfaceAviation Thank you so much!!!!
TupolevPilot any times pal :)
hi when you plan a flight do you use plan-G or skyvector and how do you put it info into the radio ??

What program/website are you using?
P3D with A2A Cessna 172
👍👍👍
Good video , just got this plane, what is the level for australia and New Zealand to enter?
not so sure what you mean by that..?
Squawk 1200 for VFR flight in Australia or North America
EMG is probably 121.500 for distress
Hello. How to listen to ATIS on audio panel transponder ?
the transponder is not for the ATIS. The ATIS is broadcast on a normal frequency. you have to find the frequency for each airport
MerryfaceAviation Thanks for the precision on transponder and broadcast I changed the COM1 on radio to ATIS frequency(from Los Angeles Airport , unfortunately I could hear anything
A Transponder is a device onboard an aircraft that receives and transmits signals to an SSR(Secondary Surveillance Radar) Antenna
Thank you.
will the com pack work wit all planes in xp 11
I don't know about the XP11 version. I believe it was only just announced recently. This is the FSX?P3D version
I have a problem with the autopilot. When i go to select ALT it stays at 0000. I push up or down and my ALT stays at 0000 please heeelp
watch part 2 and if it doesn't answer your question ask again there :)

Hi, How you change the freq on c182 ?
The same way you do with this one. It's the same avionics panel. Just follow the instructions used here.
Ok I resolve the problem , Thank !

"I've asked several times and they ignored me" :( sad times.
Anyone else see the toilet flapper fix ad?
the dislikes are helicopter pilot
EMG is emergency PA is Public Announcement
thanks
if you do somthing wrong you should not be doing the video. RF
