  • It's been an another busy week around here, and we are so excited to share with you one room we decided to tackle and FINISH! We cannot believe that we have one room done! Well... 99% done. The plan is to just keep this ball rolling and finish one room at a time until this house is COMPLETE! Finishing this room has given us new enthusiasm and excitement that this renovation is coming to an end. I mean, don't get me wrong, we still have a LONG way to go, but the light at the end of the tunnel is much more than a distant flicker now! It's a blazing torch and we are running full speed ahead to reach it!

    Oh my gosh!!!! I freaking LOVE it!!!! It turned out AH-MAZING!!!!
    I'm glad you painted the main door. However, I think a full glass door would look gorgeous between the entry and livingroom. It would let more natural light into the livingroom as well as allow people to see visitors as they enter. And if it was a screen door, you could leave the porch door open and the screen door closed to allow fresh air to flow through the house bug-free. Maybe something to consider for the future? 😊

    • @TheLiFeInPines
      @TheLiFeInPines  Год назад +1

      I also told Ted a glass door to the porch would be so great! Just not in the budget right now! Also that porch is not insulated or heated (common for mudrooms in our our area) We have thought it would be nice for that room to at least be insulated so we could keep that living room door open for extra light/space/etc. but we can always add that later when time/$$ allow.
      We’re big fans of fresh air flow so that is huge to be able to have that door open.

      @@TheLiFeInPines same train of thought! I had the budget in mind when I commented which I said maybe in the future 😁 Enclosed porches like that are common here too, I have one on this 1850 home! There is no insulation and single pane windows but it does have ducting and a register ran to it. Definitely a viable option for the future after you start getting some return on your investment! Feel free to run any ideas by me if you can't decide! I love living vicariously through all my YT friends! 😃🤗💜

    I have watched a few of the recent ones and decided to start from the bottom and work my way up to the top. I just got finished watching episode 24. I do have concern, running power tools with long hair in a braid that could get caught up in the power tool and jerk your head into the power tool and rip your hair out of your scalp. I think this is very dangerous. I thought I would let you know that you should put your hair completely up and out-of-the-way when running power tools. Other than that you guys are doing a great job and I would like to see more episodes and get caught up to present day. Next is episode 25. I only started a week ago watching you guys and it came from Cajun country living.

      Hey there! We’re so glad you decided to check us out per CCL’s recommendation!
      You’re absolutely right, I definitely should have my hair all the way back! We try to use best safety practices but sometimes we’re going fast, in a groove, and if I’m not the one primarily running the power tools but need to jump on one quick for a cut, pulling my hair back sometimes gets overlooked! I will definitely try to do better in the future! Getting my hair and face sucked into a miter saw is what nightmares are made of! 🫣 thanks so much for your kind words, Ted and I both appreciate your support!
