Amazing! Really nice & very helpful project.
Great project but quick questions. You chose 5v voltage regulator and the the nodemcu will further drop it down to 3.3v, instead you should have chosen 3.3v hilink regulator. You could save power loss in dual conversion.
When you designed your own pcb, why did you decide to go with nodemcu? You are programming it once only hence those ch340 voltage regulator etc are not at all required they are waste and unnecessary consume power throughout life.

I built mine using ESP-01. Very compact and running for months using 18650 batteries.

I'm curious on why we can't use the esp8266 - 01? That's the one I would really like to use for this project and possibly even the sonoff basic so I can just plug it in anywhere for an extension of the Wi-Fi signal. Thank you for your help and I love your videos!

I'm a 1st yr student and I've a question...
can we use esp8266-01 module for this project if we don't use such pcb as designed by you...since both the esp8266 modules has the same esp8266ex chips, and it also makes sense to use a esp-01 module here as we aren't using any gpio pins here so can we use it (by programming it with an usb-ttl adapter)??

I had some questions about ESP8266 NodeMCU v3. If I want to make a repeater with it. So my question is
1 / What will be the maximum range of NodeMCU repeater?
2 / What is the maximum data speed of NodeMCU WiFi?
3 / NodeMCU repeater maximum number of people can use together?
yes me too have been looking for something like this , new wifi router /repeater might have costed 800 to 1500 but bought this board which i can use for other projects also like neopixel matrices ///// yes no i have setup everything and its working but i am not getting the speed [got 750Kbps -1Mbps only ]which i get if i connect to the home network router directly [15Mbps on speed test }.. could you please help me in this matter ... board i am using is ESP WROOM 32

Very good project to improve the quality and distance of the wi fi
I know if we have fixed router it will be helpful to extend.. What made you think of building repeater of u have portable jiofi.. I mean what make u to think of new project ideas
@TechSMS i think you forgot to ad the 0x82000 bin file. i tried following your video and MyAP didnt show up till i added the 0x82000 file to list. also i flashed using 16Mbit and it worked perfectly.
i have doubt wifi chipset can only work as reciver or transmitter at a time ,but how node mcu do that does it have two wifi chipset like wifi repeter or something different

nodemcu 8266 based on cp2102 OR ec1150 which one for repeater i used

I am trying out the project, I connected to MyAP Access Point and opened the 192.168.4.1 but then if I enter the credentials to the settings , it just won't connect to the router. And it won't even set the AP Settings. Any help here? It says"The new settings have been sent to the device" That's it. plz help

@TechSMS my repeater could not connect to Wifi's that have a *space* in their name. E.g "Home Router".

@techiesms Thats a nice project however Can u make some project on NAS which are really Bug free and uses the latest circuitry . I think u know better. But u didnt explained the availability of ur project related items. Do ,mention
Honestly, I'd just stick with using a USB phone charger. Way safer. With a custom PCB route, you could just have a full sized male USB connector to plug into the supply with.
