NBA 2k, MLB the Show, NHL, and FIFA all have refs. PGA Tour games have hole marshalls. It was a disgrace that Madden didn't have refs. Glad to see them back.

Just me or I really hope they add when a kicker makes a clutch field goal the players celebrate with the kicker and not just walk like it's just normal kick
Yeah like how you get a choice of celebration after a player gets a sack, pick, or td, etc.
EA won’t do that unfortunately
Field sense needs new features like allowing receivers to hold on to jump balls when the defender didn’t jump. They introduced field sense but it was only for defense. The O-line and receivers need field sense for blocking and contested catch purposes at the very least.

i’ve been playing the beta and i will say it still needs improvement but i have noticed the recievers actually go up and attack the ball with their hands alot more and ive gotten more animations where they will hold on to the ball while the defenders stands under them they also dive for catches way more now like on madden 23 when you throw a pass out front of a receiver but you feel like it’s catchable if they just dive well they do it in 24 it seems more improved still needs more though
This will be in Madden 2025 instead of a patch

I already have my Beta access, here are my takeaways after about 4 hours of playing.
Graphics look great cause I’m running it on pc. Even with an old graphics card (Nividia Geforce RTX 2070 Super)
Blocking is more fluent than last year, but still needs to be balanced. Would have loved to see the different bucket steps, and skip steps offensive lineman use to get in position to block these super athletes.
WRs and DBs competing for the ball more than last year which is nice to see, receivers are holding onto very violent hits, but sometimes drop it which I thought looked more realistic than the past so good job there. Zone blocking works pretty well, Offensive Tackles are actually attempting to seal the edge which is very cool, I would like to see the safetys that are run fitting attempt to squeeze daylight and force a bounce back or if the RB is faster maybe he’ll try to bounce outside though it would be more difficult, I see opportunity for this game to be really good by the time the full game drops. It’s really just small Ai adjustments, I wonder if it’s possible to set rules for each defensive playbook and have the players actively try to play by them. For examples, you may have a defensive coordinator that doesn’t want to allow the runner to get down hill, he wants to force everything to the sideline and use it as an additional player. Some defensive coordinators want make you run the ball so they will give you a weak front but blitz the rovers often. Instead of it being a game plan that we choose before the game begins or during halftime, have it be an identity for the defensive schemes. Some schemes work better against the run than the pass and vice versa. This opens up another dimension to the franchise mode. You’ll be able to install certain types of plays that weren’t available to you before because of your playbook just didn’t have it incorporated and maybe you been getting smoke all season, now you install a couple different plays and you have counters for the types of plays that are hurting your team. I feel like every play has some sort of counter to it IRL and that should be represented in the game. Same thing could be implemented on offensive playbooks too! I’m genuinely excited to see some more improvements before launch
Were you able to try out free agency? If so, is it more realistic than madden 23, like Justin Herbert, Nick Bosa, and other x-factor 90+ overalls never being resigned. It made madden 23 very boring with salary cap on.
@@pomppp. Also, I just tried the trade center and that is pretty cool. You can now create a custom trade offer consisting of up to 6 picks or players. Once you have created the offer you are willing to trade you can press Triangle/Y and get offers from around the league instantly. For example, I’m using the Texans and want to get a legitimate #1 receiver and I’m willing to trade two 2nd round picks and two 3rd round picks. It will give me an idea of what my trade is valued at around the league. The best receivers that were offered in return were Keenan Allen at 88 OVR and Michael Thomas who was an 85 OVR at the time. Other teams offer other players that were in the high 80 but no X Factors outside of Matt Judon (who is an 85 OVR and 32 years old atp in my franchise) or anyone in the 90s. It’s a pretty cool feature. I wish they would bring back the weekly show like they had in Madden 10. I think it was called the extra point show. It was really cool to see back in the day, but imagine they incorporated highlights from around your league too! If NFL 2k5 could do it I’m sure they can definitely do it now. EA even has the ESPN license if I’m not mistaken.
@@pomppp. sorry I keep adding on, but I just realized you can trade up to 3 years of trades. Texans have an extra pick im the 2025 draft from the browns. So i offered four 1st round picks, and two 2nd round picks and I was offered the best player that isn’t a QB on damn near every team lol I like that because the QBs are always talked about being the most important piece to the team so it’s good to see them not even be offered to the most ridiculous trade offer I could muster 🤣

Honestly if it plays decently I’m fine with it I just love the scoreboards from ncaa and that’s literally the only reason I’d buy 24. Please I don’t wanna see see SUPER BOWL 58 logos all around the stadium give me SCOREBOARDS

Same with scoop tackles, ncaa 2014 revamped is a game I still play, and those tackles and blocks are there. Maybe it's because they are so old, people think they are new
On the eagles illegal blindside block, you can see 88 run away from the defender at full sprint, then they cut to 88 somehow being in position to de-cleat the defender
He ran the same direction as the defender and hurts was rolling outside where the eagles player was running back while the dude he de cleated was inside
It’s not even a legal block. So EA made a cutscene that can’t be in the game. Stupid as hell smh
@@cashtatum6158 dude watch it again. Hurts is rolling out, the tight end is running at an angle that makes no damn sense, he’s not running a flat, or a block and release. The defender runs past the tight end. He then magically is in frame for an illegal blindside block. Idk what you’re talking about man.

Graphics look better, movements look better, refs are back on the field finally. Just wish announcers were different and or have multiple announcers per week
We may have missed some thing you mentioned but one thing we didn’t miss is the disappointment. We all know what we’re getting ready to play when this banner is released.

3:06... that's a nice running animation. I really am seeing it. It actually takes the next shot, where Kirk is getting laid out, the Cowboy reverts to the old Neanderthal run to really see it.

Okay, but can they make a good game is the question. We've seen better from the Maddens from 2009, with Head Coach 09 being one of, if not my most fun Madden experience in total. It was legit 5x more fun than the modern Maddens and had 5x the amount of detail. If they decided to replace the already existing coach franchise with straight up just a copy and paste of 09, I would buy.
I doubt the game would be good compared to the ps2 or early ps3 era games but hopefully its better than the past 10 years of madden

You can do that with custom players if that what you mean, but I unfortunately don't think it'll be on the team uniform menu.
I’m so glad that new gen capabilities is coming to PC because I play on PC (it’s a gaming laptop) it has a 3050 I’m pretty sure but I use an Xbox 1 controller and it didn’t have new gen graphics, so I’m glad it will this year. I’m also SUPER happy the riddell axiom is coming to madden.

It would be nice if they can get players in to get styles exclusive to them. For example, Barry Sanders had a very unique, smooth running style. But I’m UT, he runs similar to all the other backs. Many star players have exclusive movements. It would be awesome if they could capture that on the video game.

Why havent they fixed this?; at 4:30, that animation of the receiver dropping the ball, he's going down as if he has the ball in his hand.
Hit stick only works about 25% of the time even when you have a linebacker or safety that has 90 plus hit power. I've had quarterbacks bounce off of jamal adams hit stick... And he's one of the hardest hitting players in the game..
Don't have hopes to high for this game EA always disappoint
Also it'd be nice if you could recover a fumble without falling on it. Like one hand scoop it up and run it in for a score.. anytime you make a fumble recovery it's painfully slow watching your player try to get up and run. Not to mention they lose all their speed the instant you do recover the ball.

As a Buffalonian, I'm wondering about weather effects in this game, particularly if you're just playing exhibition mode. Can you set the temperature to cold without it being snowy? There are plenty of days in November, December, and January where you need to bundle up and wear cold weather gear, but there is no precipitation. Also, will players be able to wear handwarmers on the back? This seems far more common than handwarmer on the front.

Biggest issue with animations is that Madden overkills the new ones. Just like when Beckham had that one handed catch, the next year every receiver in Madden did the same animation multiple times a game.
Was playing yesterday with my son. The new tackle animations are nice. I got dumped so hard I fully expected a penalty...

2023 was bar none the worst version ever. Don't think I can stomach another year of glitches, lost packs and unpaid rewards and the frustration of updates that did not work. Count me out!

Not a popular opinion, but I think the onside cpu needs tuning. Seen players grab the hall when it’s only 1 yard from going over the line instead of the siting to grab it. NFL players know it needs to go 10 yards and that doesn’t translate onto madden. Also I think I’ve seen the offensive players not be able to pick up the ball and it hit 5 guys hands. Would like to see that be improved aswell.
Used to have the helmetscome off on big hits...NFL took that out. Also used to have career ending injuries and more long term injuries...they took those out and limited the long terms injuries
You know what I just thought of when we create a player we would be able to take a picture of ourselves for the player picture that would be sick!

PS2 madden had scoop tackles and pancake blocks 😭 and espn 2k5 had figured out how to account for momentum and size when it came to tackling.

We need cpu QBs climbing the pocket and spiking the ball. The two most basic things you learn in football.
The shoulder pads improved , cause like last year they were 2 small and when the player ran they kinda fold pretty weirdly, now there kinda realistic and a little bigger

💯💯💯💯💯 I hate the announcers. They're so far behind on the gameplay and they tell the same ridiculous story over and over again not to mention they talk through multiple plays. It'll be third down and they're still talking about a play that happened on first down
