Just got this game today for Father's Day (early gift). I have watched this review & few other several times & still don't seem to get how it works so now that I have the rules I'll take time to sit down and read through them. I have played this game 3 times since playing it at Origins last year and each time it's been fun. I had the idea to get one of those tea candles (battery ones) and put it in the vAlcano (wink) and it looks cool!
Holy carp! I've been playing it wrong all of this time. I was only allowing relatives to be added based on buildings with YOUR OWN pieces in them. Granted, it made the game a bit more strategic (since you could block other people), but still. I thought Tom explained it wrong, but I checked the rules and it turned out that I had been. (However, for the "moving" rules, I'd been playing correctly). Crazy. I've had this game for years, and have been playing it incorrectly the entire time.
Tom is secretly in love with Val Kilmer.
And every time he says "valcano", a descendant of Pompeii dies.

Looks really quick in fun. But did it make the shelf for the long haul?
'Volcano' not 'valcano.'
who's val kaeno?
Was there meeples in this game?
Great review I just played this game 3 times in a row and decided to purchase it. Great video - after seeing your shelf..... ummmm I need more games
Anything modern that is similar? Played this at a friends’ place and my kid loved it. Can’t find it anywhere locally tho.
Same I’m looking for it but lolks like eBay for 75$ new is the best price you’re gonna get

is this a keeper?
hell yes
Awesome shirt Tom!!
Did you remember to tap A to not die as fast?
Edit: Someone already made a comment about this
Pretty good game. I would say the game works in three phases. Place initial people, add relatives, escape Pompeii.
want this one
I don't quite understand the second part
Valcano.
lol... Val-cano.
Eh, didn't notice anything. A little flimsy, I guess.
This is a pretty messed up game. Other than that, it sounds pretty cool. Great review Tom!
This game needs meeples
