That would have been quite amusing if he had warned us about dropping the components for fear of breaking them only to have his 'Dice Tower Judgment' mallet swing & break them all! :-D

Test drops for components :D. Now that is proper review preparation!

I know that Tom mentioned that there wasn't much theme to this game but I really think the teleportation aspect ruins what theme there is. It almost seems like during design or play testing they discovered that a player could be trapped inside a district with no legal moves and just said "eh, players can teleport" instead of figuring out a real way to solve the issue.

+Shawn Fleury You can use 'secret path' instead of teleport... ;-)

    Such a pretty game.
I'd probably give the temples a quick wash to differentiate their colors a bit more.

Your version has the earth toned resin pieces, but I have seen pictures on BGG with brightly colored plastic pieces. How do I know which version I am buying?

    Thoughts on 2 Players?

2 players is not great. Its over in like 30 mins and theres way too much room to be competitive. Maybe if you set a boundary like not using regions in power grid

I love it with two because it's much more cutthroat. Amount of space on the board doesn't really matter since you're limited in the number of temples in each half. It gets more competitive in terms of district space with more players, but the sizes of the districts themselves doesn't change with two players and you're still vying to control them. There's also that inherent desire to block your opponent as much as possible.

This game, which I own (older version), reminds me of the game Manhattan for some reason.

Daniel Romero It's too bad people feel the need to correct strangers on the internet.

i would mostly agree, but since it was some cultural reference (which i failed) , i thought it could be ok, and my intent was not aggressive even if it appeared so :(
