@@iljastalberg5610 Evidence suggests that homosexuality is determined during pre-natal stage of development (secretions of particular hormones in the mothers womb determine sexuality). It's not even debateable that Vitaly is wrong fundamentally, because we have the science to prove it. Being hateful towards, and putting restrictions of a group of people for simply being born is no different to racism or any other kind of awful discrimination. Being a proponent is not good for anybody. And it makes you feel awful too.

Now On your study Yes it can happen ( before birth ) it is indeed wrong to make their life worse cose of that. But that study is just that study of pre-birth behaver (in our case sexuality ). But Evidence also suggests that stress can change sexual preferences (some time's even kill libido out right ) among-st meany meany different things

And LGBQ do not produce it thus they dont need marriage (From bureaucracy point of view ) and it's Fact that kids in same sex house hold suffer more then in traditional (Rates of abuse is way higher for different reasons ) thus adoption shoed be stopped for them.

@@euan7166 Stephen Fry is exceptionally more intelligent than Vitaly anyway. He wouldn't be able to articulate very well in his own language. It's clear Vitaly's argument is based on the false assumption that homosexuality is a choice, meaning that he is disregarding the evidence that sexuality is determined during pre-natal development (secretions of certain hormones). He's always going to lose if his argument is based on a hateful, ignorant and completely untrue word view.

Crazy how 9 years ago Stephen Fry is laughing at the idea of kindergarteners learning about sexuality, and now here we are in 2023 and it is commonplace in the USA for kindergarteners to be exposed to the idea of sexual identity in public schools.
The problem is that it is always either one extreme or the other, when it should be entirely neutral. Making homosexuality a taboo subject is both cruel and harmful to any kids who happen to not be heterosexual, and the modern identity politics insanity is harmful to everyone.

As a Russian, i'm very dissapointed that my country is so close-minded. I know that i would be a very homophobic person if i was raised in Russia. But i'm lucky that my parents moved to Belgium when I was 3. I'm grateful that Europe gave me an upbringing that has taught me to live life with an open mind because an open mind is a great step towards making this world a better place. Love knows no gender.

Both make good points and bad points. But Fry's comments have not aged well. But he is 100% correct about Tchaikovsky. Being gay was pary of Tchaikovsky's music. Why is anyone surprised he was gay? He wrote ballets.
It’s two extremes arguing semantics. Both are right partially. There are those who invade the lives of children to change their views under their parents noses. But that’s a small percentage and mostly trivial and rare. BUT to ignore it is to allow it to spread. The same as with pretending that there aren’t people out there teaching the false idea that homosexuality is a disease or that by being born like that makes them evil or corrupt.

I've always loved Stephen Fry and I've always been sorry for my country in a lot of ways. Our "tv-people" are indeed embarrassing themselves in too many things. I wonder if we ever learn to accept the world equally in its whole diversity.
I've never directly influenced my MP in making a vote and neither has anyone I know. Like most places it's a representative democracy, we trust our politicians will vote right by us but ultimately decisions on laws is theirs. sure people can lobby and petition but it is the politician who decides what they vote.

I might represent an unpopular opinion here, but interrupting and saying that it doesn't make sense (even if it most definitely doesn't) is not too helpful to poke holes in ignorant people's logic. The biggest problem is you can't really fight ignorance with logic.
